This is a cool idea. I'll post up some videos of me working on the behind the back saber spin. I think I've pretty much got it, but I don't see any reason why any constructive criticism wouldn't hurt.  |

Vel, those are really cool. The slo-mo makes seeing the hits a lot easier. Again it looked like hand/forearm hits were most common.
Point for you, and if anyone from the group ever gets on here, them too.

 MY GOD I FEEL SO LAZY!!... 2 weeks since i got my saber and gifted my friend his, and we still have not gotten a dueling video for you guys to see.. its rough dueling, but we do pretty good for no choreography.. and play like its real.. a blade touch anywhere is instant cauterization... we have had a duel last a full 2 minutes ending with my hand being cut off, having to run for it.. then dodge my friend jump for my saber, roll over and SOMEHOW i got him across the mid section with a slash upwards as he wooshed over my head comming out of the roll..... sadly, this was on my iphone 3g.... 4 years gone... and a new hard drive in the computer later.. the footage is lost... possibly never to be filmed again.. its not easy to get that kinda dueling consistently.... so intense... dramatic and passionate with the act of "life or death" from both duelists... i swear ill have footage for you by the end of next week... keep in mind.. my friend and i use no choreography.. kinda let our bodies take over.. we both have a fair amount of martial arts practice.. and dont have a particular style.. we just surrender to the Superior knowledge of our body... i hope to have some footage for the forums very soon.. as well as get feedback from peers and masters alike....

i cant seem to get the videos to stream into this site from my youtube.. i have tried all the normal media, youtube, http, ... all the normal ways other sites do it... but i just cant get it to post in anything but a link...is there a special media code this forum uses to post videos that stream from youtube, rather then just a link to youtube? thanks for the help guys

Go to your YouTube Video directly from the YouTube Channel and not from your video manager. Highlight the HTTP addresses in your address bar: like this *http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLSj4TxfZPY&feature=youtu.be* Paste in your thread. The site has an auto embed feature that turns it into a streaming video. Blue EDIT: I forgot to mention that if you have https instead of http, it will not imbed. i notice that the video of me is darker then i thought.. i will try to get a light time video soon.. with better camera stage... i go out of frame a few times.. and im not in the frame all the time either.... but hope you enjoy it anyways.. lol

i go out of frame a few times.. and im not in the frame all the time either I run into this problem a lot myself. Darn cell phone camera doesn't have squat for a viewing angle. I've actually had 2-3 videos that I just didn't bother posting because I spent half of it out of frame.  |

lol i have friend that is going to work with me on making the sounds louder... and i have been measuring out a box area of the camera angle.. the forms should probably be done in more of a square... this is just my opinion.. and im not making any "teacher" remarks.. just my opinion only clarifying such.

Thanks for sharing! A point for that and for decent lighting ! A suggestion for when you're filming solo: Set up your camera then mark the width and depth of your shooting frame with some small sticks in the ground so you know how far you can move in each direction and still be be visible. |
