Hello,
It comes pre-wired, so all you need to do is make the correct connections. The best method is to solder the joints & shrink wrap them.
If you have never used a soldering iron, you may wish to have UltraSabers do it - especially since it won't be warrantied if you DIY.
Yes, an AV switch is definitely required. I put a latching one in one time just to see what it would do. The saber activates and then immediately powers off with the switch latched.
Lastly, the hole that is drilled for the guarded switch on a stunt saber is not big enough to accomodate an AV switch, so you'd need to widen it. The best way to do that without accidentally scratching your hilt is to use a drill press.
Hope this info helps your decision.
I'm assuming you've installed these. My final question is how do you remove the latching Button? I have my saber, but don't want to pull it and screw up. I can see all the wires and I'm 100% sure I can do the wiring whenever I get the soundboard and speaker. I Just dont know for sure how to get the switch off
