  I want Chicken sandwich, the only restaurant in town that sells a decent one is closed on Sunday when I really want one.  Want a drink, bars are closed on Sundays also. 

Same here!  It's so frustrating!

On a good note, I did manage to get Sunday off for my birthday, my GM came through for me.

Have to find a way to readjust my mindset... I forget, working retail, you don't get holidays and weekends off... scheduled for 8 hours tomorrow, a closing shift on Saturday and looks like I'm down for open to close on Sunday...

not that anything is new there. But having the flu for a few weeks I went three weeks without seeing my physio. Apparently thats too long.
and more than 13 months down the track, still no word from the specialist. This is karking rediculous. Think I might try my luck with a different specialist.

Ya know what drives me completely nuts.
Serching the youtubes, looking for videos of a couple circuts I want to build and most of them are either some guy from india that you can barly understand or a video where no one says anything they just sit there and demo the circut. Yes I get it it works now show how it was built.
Although there are some good Instructional videos on some simple circuts. But the ones where they don't say anything really anoy me

About the only thing that really disappoints me to the point of frustration lately (besides not winning anything in the Summer prize raffle) are the "devicey" parents; at least that's what I call them.  These are the parents that take their children somewhere like a park and then, instead of actually engaging with the children, playing with them, or even supervising them...you guessed it, they spend an hour without looking up from their smart phone screens.

Attn. "deviceys":  Your children love you and want your attention.  Play Candy Crush or check your darned Facebook after they go to bed.

Parents. If you bring your children on public transportation (in this case, a train), make them behave. For crying out loud. You have reserved seats. One per person. That means you don't let your child run around and sample all the chairs nearby, nor can they all lay across two seats. They also should not be standing in them, and don't be surprised when I smirk at them for falling down. It's a moving vehicle. It will stop eventually, and your child will fall, and get hurt, and then everyone on the vehicle has to listen to them scream.

Watch your kids. They're your responsibility.

Pure frustration...

as most of you recall, after spending 9 months job hunting, I finally started working again on July 1st.  Granted it isn't the greatest job on Earth, as it's retail, but it is a job...

Anyways... we were called in for a meeting before work yesterday.  Corporate is closing our store... we've been told we'll be closed before Thanksgiving.  Our GM (bless him) is trying to place as many of us as possible in nearby stores, but it's going to be difficult since they're all fully staffed presently.  The are offering a huge cash bonus for employees to stay with the store until it's closed, and they're saying it will make placement easier because that gives the other stores time to evaluate employees and either terminate or transfer them...

The saving grace is, I'll be another semester farther in my classes, which means I'll have completed AutoCad I, Revit, Inventor, and be well into AutoCad II, which will look great on my resume, but it will also mean more job hunting...  I'm going to try and ride this thing out to the end, come hell or high water, but some of the "nearby" stores in our district are over an hour away and with school and other things it will be difficult.

It's never fun to hear that, due to no fault of your own, that your job is going away.

I was there in '07, and in some ways after that, because my first profession (video editing) is something that is viewed as something that anyone can do, here in the age of YouTube.  And since anyone can do it, people think that having someone who has no training/experience doing a professional level piece is the same as their kid doing it.

I even met an executive who talked about shooting on an iPhone camera (which nearly made me pop a blood vessel).

I know it's a pain.  Are there any real corporations (not the door-to-door hucksters/pyramid schemes) in your area with entry level positions open?

So, still trying to make the best of a bad situation, but it gets harder and harder daily.

Evidently our GM promising to get us transfers was just that, him promising to get transfers for us.  There has been nothing in writing or any indications of such from anyone at a regional/district/corporate level... Our GM got transferred, 2 weeks ago.  We were supposed to get a "bench manager" whatever that is, but we haven't seen her yet.  In the meantime, we have our former ASM now acting as our GM.  In two weeks she's caused 3 people to quit.  One just walked out in the middle of her shift, the other two finished their shifts and just haven't been heard from and will not answer their phones.  So our understaffed store of 12 employees is down to 9, and the ASM/GM doesn't want to mess with payroll, so other people's hours have all been cut (including mine, I'm now stuck at 30 or less per week.)  Two more employees are about to walk out, she can't hire anyone, because honestly, who wants a job for less than 2 months only to get let go after everyone has hired for the holiday season.

Morale is in the toilet, sales have tanked, but somehow she thinks it's still all sunshine and roses and doesn't believe anything that is going wrong is her fault.  Regardless of the fact that everyone has told her how incompetent she is and the only reason she still has a job is all the GM's she's worked for covered for her (Which was stupid on their parts.)

Still making less than I have ever made since graduating high school 20+ years ago, having my hours cut is a huge strain on the family budget again... I'm not sure I'm going to last until the store officially closes in mid-November, I'm looking for another job, but no one seems to be calling back.

Sorry for the rant... but this is the venting thread and honestly, I hate posting this sort of stuff on facebook, y'all are generally much more supportive and encouraging than anyone else...
