Having no internet connection whatsoever for days, really just freaking bites ass. To be blunt. My woes seem to be over for now though, so crisis seemingly averted. Landen, if your boss was just a dick, it wouldn't surprise me. I think part of being a boss entails spending some time going to dick school.   |

Landen, if your boss was just a dick, it wouldn't surprise me. I think part of being a boss entails spending some time going to dick school. It hasn't happened to me, but I was explaining how it might have happened, because an earlier post seemed confused. I don't need my boss to give me too much work to do, I'm perfectly capable of doing that on my own.  My boss (principal) is really good to work for. If it weren't for her, I'm not sure I'd be at the school I am. It's rough, but she does a good job of striking the balance of sending kids out vs. keeping them in, and she makes sure the teachers get appreciated. We get end of year bonuses, gift cards for Christmas, and this year she gave every teacher a $10 gift card as a thank you to give to another teacher who did something to make our life a little better. |

Don't know. Haven't seen it. Sending kids home from school or keeping them in. Some things are worthy of a suspension, and some aren't. Schools that have suspension rates that are really high also usually perform poorly as far as student learning and achievement. But schools that are lawless perform poorly, too. It takes the right mix to get it right. |

I would do that. Sometimes even accidentally. You don't need to be going all out for it to hurt. You just need the other person to want to win enough that they move a little bit faster. Then you move a little bit faster than that to counter it. Then they move faster. And so on. It's been my experience that "not going all out" tends to eventually evolve into "going just shy of all out," sometimes quite quickly. Now change "stab" to "hit full force" and change "messing about" to "full speed in 40 degree F weather with no gloves" and change "fingertip" to "first knuckle." That also hurts a lot. And being hit with a blunt object in the arm hard enough to draw blood. That hurts too. Excellent analogy, but it was closer to "Taking away project A, which is the equivalent of putting the alphabet in alphabetical order in an Excel spreadsheet. Giving you project B, which is the equivalent of putting the Library of Congress in alphabetical order by color. In 9 seconds or less. While blindfolded. And in Tibet." |

Well, it's Labour Day weekend. Time for the big day of our country's national comic convention - FanEx Canada.
A three day event that I will not be attending this time. Money & circumstance dictated otherwise this year.
A very tough pill to swallow - this is what I do. What I am. A national event. Drag cubed.
I'll stick to smaller events this year, and aim to attend the biggie next time - sigh.
