Just got done helping out a client who was setting up a meeting in my office's conference room.  Guy has an old 8 to 9 year told Acer laptop running Office 2010 which took 10 minutes to come up, another 10 minutes to pull up and join the meeting before he was green.  He then ask me how to pull up PowerPoint on his computer... This is the guy leading a meeting for one of our departments.   Job security nonetheless

Mine is not that bad. I work Sun - Thur and my regular schedule is 8, 12, 12, 12, 12. But lately 8, 12, 16, 16, 12.

Thank you for your service, sir!  I have lots of Marine buddies that are police officers now.  I went to police academy in Miami and turned down the job when my buddy got washed out for not being "assertive enough" and reenlisted back.  Anyhow, I appreciate all peace officers and law enforcement alike so keep doing what you do!  Those hours make sense now but they are pretty tough!

broke my finger, scraped up my face, pulled a muscle in my back, and I am running on about thirty minutes of sleep 72 hours ago because life is wonderful. But I am finally getting some sleep, soon.

You wanna know what I do when I have a really bad, awful, terrible day? I imagine my great great great granddaughter in the future talking to her class about me.  She's poised and funny, and tells people about me and how everything worked out in the end.  And when I think about that, I think about how everything's going to work out.  Because how else could she tell people?

Great way to look at things. If I start thinking I have it bad I just step back and have a look around. I don't have it bad.

I remember around this time  4.5 years ago, when I was part of the 60k troops that were deployed to Afghanistan.  I woke up at 0300 in the morning, grabbed my weapon, my shovel and climbed out of my fox hole and walk a to dig a hole to alleviate myself.  The only thing I like about the Middle East was that I can look up in the sky and see all the stars.  I remember staring at the stars wondering if anyone will miss me if something happened to me the next day since I served close to 10 years, had a divorce, went through so many relationships due to my time away, and this was all I had to speak for myself. Waking up close to enemy territory just to dig a hole to use the restroom.  I would tell my younger self that it wouldn’t be my life and I would get out, find a new and great career, meet my best friend and soulmate without realizing it, get married, and start doing the things I’ve never got a chance to do for the decade that I was away.  I often think about that when I have the worse days or my PTSD hits an all time high and it helps out a smile to my face.
