Okay, you guys are on the right track, but you're still woefully off.

Being CIS-gender has nothing to with anything other than gender identity. A butch lesbian who wears men's clothes exclusively, walks like a man, talks like a man, and likes things that are stereotypical "male," while shunning things that are typically feminine, but at the end of the day is still happy being a female and with her physical sex, is still a CIS-woman.

Same with a gay man who dresses and acts more feminine, but is still happy with his birth sex. Cis.

The other identities come into play when one's gender identity does not line up with their physical sex. Transgender is a huge umbrella term, combining MtF(Male to Female trans), FtM(Female to Male), genderqueer, and others. MtF and FtM should be fairly familiar to most of us. Genderqueer is a bit tricky, as it's kind of an umbrella term in itself. But basically it encompasses people who identify with no gender, multiple genders, or who shift around during different times of their life. I encourage you to read up on this subject, I won't cover more of it, as I could go on for days.

I will say this though; It's best to look at it this way, however you identify, whatever makes you feel happiest and most comfortable is right. Most of the population does identify as CIS. There are some of us on this forum who don't(not naming names). Just respect that.

Thanks for the input. I agree with you, as that is the traditional view. You're born a male, and you identify as a male = cis male. You're born a female and you identify as a female = cis female. I thought that part had already been covered.

However, those other things I had mentioned earlier are where it has become twisted into what some now view it as. I was simply trying to enlighten as to the whole picture of what the issue has become.

Unfortunately, on one side of the argument, some people have labeled all things cis as being inherently bad or harmful to society, and they are adding other things to it that shouldn't be there. That is where the socio-political side of it comes into play, and people who don't know what the term means should be aware that it has multiple implications, from identity and/or association, to social and political issues taking place in our society.

This is too true.  I can not count the times I have been attacked on forums because I am very much the stereotypical "cis-male".  I'm hairy, burly, eat red meat, hunt, like violent things, own weapons etc.   So I am responsible for ALL the ills facing our society.

I like to know of this place, I'm always down for a good argument. I used to frequent a site, not for children, that turned into a warzone more than what the site is meant for. Them broads would meet up and fight it out, get banned. It got to be too much

Agreed.  No one has been immature or rude.  This.....is what a grown up conversation looks like.  Easy to forget now a days.

Well, I am what they call "genderqueer" or "agender" meaning I don't subscribe to any particular gender.  Sex is biological.  Gender is a social construct.  I'm not going to get into this here on the forum because this is not the place for it, but there's plenty of reading out there that explains it, if you are truly curious.  I don't care if people call me "she" or "he" or "they" or whatever.  They're all fine with me and I DO get called all of them.  Biologically, I am female, but that's not my gender.  Two completely different things.

I am still extra salty over the lack of coverage our flood got, so I am really hoping these people get the attention and help they need.   My town will never, ever be the same and it will take us years to recover.  These people will have it even worse.  Nothing compares to walking around your town and seeing destruction and chaos in every direction.  Nothing.

Supposedly, these clowns are now in my town, seen on the freeway, threatening to go to the schools. These joker's outta know their gonna get one between the eyes if they run across 70% of people in this town! Not smart. I don't have a gun, but I'll gladly unleash some bipolar aggression if one of these A-holez comes near my neighborhood. I'm already on watch cuz some lop was standing in my driveway, asking me for a ride and my phone last week. I told him to GTFOH has my son's saber right by the door, and my knife in my pocket. True. Probably because the 2010 earthquake ravaged Haiti, and they're still recouping. The impoverished suffer greatly. Could be wrong
