As for the question, what value does the emotion of "pity" have in society? Does it have value because people feel pity for those less fortunate than they are, and help them? Does it hinder society, as those who may be eliminated from the gene pool due to circumstances are helped by others to survive?
Think of the question this way: if it were possible, would the human species be better of if it did not feel the emotion of pity? Then use Aristotle and Nietzsche to support your view.
I disagree with your view of philosophy, but I'm not going to argue it with you because you can think whatever you want.
Well if you don't mind, can I at least use this as an intro? Really? Why?

You could adopt the approach I took when I attended university, which was to make my university experience as close to that depicted in National Lampoon's Animal House,. Even though we don't have frat houses in the UK, I was fairly successful at having a "Delta House" university experience. Not sure if you want to take this route, but it worked for me. Be my guest. To me, philosophy is fun.

Stupid SWKOTOR online is taking forever to send me a confirmation email and they won't let me play my level 21 sith until I get it! I just got to the point of earning my double bladed lightsaber too! Also the server where my characters are was down all last night. Glad I'm not paying for a subscription, and I don't intent too.  |

So this is a vent for my friend really. I hate low life degenerates The third member of our Spartan crew, on the weekend he was attacked while in his Halo Spartan costume by some *insert your choice of nasty name calling*. Punched in the stomach a few times which has shattered his torso piece, a punch to the head which damaged his helmet AND popped his jaw while he was wearing the helmet mind you, and damaged his brand new energy sword which he'd just gotten as a replacement for the damaged one, he'd literally had it a couple days. Thankfully it was all caught on CCTV so the police have that to use to try and find the f£%&#r. And hopefully the attacker has a very sore hand because his chest piece is fibreglass and body filler, It's pretty hard. I hate humanity some days. How someone thinks they have the right to do that shavit... It's not the first time it's happened to him before either, and one of the times was in the middle of a large group of costumers with handlers all around, some twat ran in, smacked him in the front of the helmet then ran off! Like WTF?! We are now helping him to get his costume rebuilt in time for an event in less than two weeks. Ive still gotta do a fix on my Spartan for the same event then finish my ODST (requires adjustment and respray) and make my new Jedi robe, the latter two are for an event in less than three weeks. Getting our fellow Spartan back on his feet is more important though. We aren't the Perth Spartans without him  We don't leave a man behind. |

I've just about had it with that ex Verizon spokeperson now working for Sprint. Well, Sprint as a whole.
Their new commercial is a straight knockoff off the new UNLIMITED background setting with the person standing up on a red carpet talking to a crowd talking about the unlimited plan and dropping the mic at the end.
What does Sprint do? Reenact the whole scene, whole setting, being totally unoriginal, and having that hack come out and give his "blah, blah, blah, more money, cheaper" speech and he drops the mic with the "can you here that".
I really wish they had some originality over there in Sprint HQ instead of chasing Verizon. Nothing worse than whining or comparing yourself to others. Stop, just stop!!! Wankers
