I just rode my bicycle to the store. A bike I've had for one year. almost 10 months ago I broke my leg riding it. i just did a perfect faceplant due to muddy trails. I think I might have to go to the hospital.  My lip is split wide open and will not stop bleeding. F#$%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I want to know what kind of bike, and what happened to cause the faceplant...

It's a DK Cygnus 24" bmx. I was on my way back from 7-11, about 4 blocks from my home and I decided to take a longer route back through a big park.
So I was on the concrete bike trail when I used my left hand to adjust by headphones and I went into the grass. It happened to be the only patch on the whole trail that was slippery wet mud. My front wheel turned all the way around and I flipped over the handle bars. I've always been really good at taking falls, but this time I landed face first on the concrete before I could even think of rolling or putting my hands out.

Hope everything turns out OK. If you was closer I would stich up the lip for you.

I could have literally drove to Houston and had you stitch up my lip faster than the damned local E.R. I just spent 7 hours to get some stitches.
I was so pissed off, I was actually escorted out by security once I got my prescription for pain pills. Idiots. Worst hospital visit ever. It wasn't even the worst injury, the staff was just so freaking dumb they caused me more emotional pain than the injury.

I'm so glad I have you guys and this place to vent. Ahhhhhhhh. I feel much better now.

We were wanting more space in the house and I kinda wanted a better shop so we put our place up for sale and we actually got an offer that we accepted... and now we have to find another place and pack and go out into the world were there are humans. Breathe. Always remember to breathe. Long deep breaths = more oxygen = better cognitive ability = better decision making.

I'm no stranger to anxiety and panic. I actually used to get anxious because I was getting anxious. I knew my panic attacks always brought on more problems. But as I got off my ADHD meds, I was better able to sense when I was getting worked up and how to calm down. I found that breathing was the best first step. Then I could think more clearly of possible solutions to whatever was stressing me out. And then working on possible solutions also gave me something to take my mind off of the source of my anxiety. So it was a win-win.

I suffer from pretty bad anxiety too.I take have to take Klonopin on a regular basis for it, I have been taking less and less but I would like to get off of it entirely. I wish I had more wisdom or advice to give, but I think what Logos said about breathing is about the best thing you can do. I will add that I find it helpful to count and breath out twice as long as you inhale. start with something that feels comfortable like 4 seconds in and 8 seconds out. When you get to 10 seconds in and 10 out. you can get really relaxed very quick in my experience. I'm actually having a bit of an anxiety attack this morning and this type of breathing is starting to help. 

As for the bike I've actually been saying I think it is cursed since I broke my leg on it in the first month of owning it. It has been a constant hassle and source of injury. I don't even get crazy on it or anything, and I was really into jumping and doing stunts on bmx bikes when I was a teenager. I have to sell it. Its in great condition and worth at least $400 dollars with the stuff I upgraded on it. Last night I almost threw it in a dumpster for real.I'm still fighting the urge.

Oh, that's crazy! Delhi is actually in Merced County. I always forget how big the county is because the town is so small. So what did you think of this general area when you were here? I've never even met someone that was born and raised here have anything positive to say about it.

Moved there when I was 9, I didn't spend all that much time there, but it wasn't as bad then as it is now.  I went to MJC for a year as well,  Couldn't pay me to live there now, back then wasn't too bad.
