Title: Saber Spear previously mentioned? Post by: cloudcaptain on January 03, 2011, 06:05:21 PM I recall seeing awhile back that there was talk of a saber-spear that would be made. Did these ever take off? I would certainly dig one.

Post by: Hobb on January 04, 2011, 06:47:47 PM You could make an extended pommel piece that would screw on to a standard saber hilt, converting it into a saber pike.
Just a suggestion... Title: Re: Saber Spear previously mentioned? Post by: TK IAIN on March 06, 2011, 08:38:44 PM Must have.
I don't suppose these will get made and become commercially available? Am working on a Shadow Guard costume (I'm a member of the UK Garrison) and the hardest/most annoying bit is trying to get the Saber Pike. This is awesome and would'nt need much to make it into a clearable part of the costume. Please, please, please make some more. ;D ;D Title: Re: Saber Spear previously mentioned? Post by: The_Night on March 07, 2011, 01:16:17 AM does anyone else feel like a saber spear would last like 2 seconds in a real saber battle before being cut in half? lol, just saying.
Title: Re: Saber Spear previously mentioned? Post by: Kaiden Shardsbane on March 07, 2011, 01:59:17 AM Mandalorian Iron staff. Other than that, yeah, it's gonna chop like matchwood.
Title: Re: Saber Spear previously mentioned? Post by: ThreadJack on March 07, 2011, 02:10:52 AM Not if the handle is built using a Cortosis weave...
Title: Re: Saber Spear previously mentioned? Post by: Jammo on March 07, 2011, 02:23:26 AM Cortosis or Phrik (sp?) and you're gravy for the stopping of the blades. I always like doing body only when I duel with mah trusty US Yari.
Title: Re: Saber Spear previously mentioned? Post by: Jammo on March 07, 2011, 02:30:13 AM This may also be a good time to bring up Jarael and her super sweet shock staff...

Post by: thejedimasternick on March 07, 2011, 07:52:15 PM I think a saber spear would be great. Got an extra saber laying around I want to convert. So I will see what will happen. Along the lines of functionality, I think it would hold up well. Just got to get used to it.
Title: Re: Saber Spear previously mentioned? Post by: Jammo on March 07, 2011, 08:05:51 PM The thing to watch with the Yari and similar weapons is the incredible amount of power that you can generate with it, particularly with a Jung Ma style spin attack. I almost floored someone on a strike I started pulling only about a quarter of the way into it one time (contact was clean on a shoulder blade) and the other two times I've thrown that attack live I swept a leg out from under someone on one and popped a hilt hard enough to make it ring for a second on the other.
Title: Re: Saber Spear previously mentioned? Post by: thejedimasternick on March 07, 2011, 08:14:18 PM Momentum and spinning, oh yeah, they are great with that. I always liked the ep. I idea of maul's double bladed saber with one blade.
Title: Re: Saber Spear previously mentioned? Post by: Jammo on March 07, 2011, 09:22:22 PM Want the nutty part? I was dual wielding on the shoulder hit. I made an opening with a standard length saber in my left hand and spun around it with the Yari in half length in my right. I stopped applying power as soon as I launched the move because it could have sent someone to the emergency room at full power.
