Thank you Master G! I’m not sure how much progress will have been made, but I’m hoping to have some good time to train this weekend. Please check back for my next vid update. Your opinion is always valued!

So , here’s some work from tonight. This is straight out the gate. I’m attempting a more upright stance, but finding it difficult to generate as much power from that position.

As the evening went on I shot a lot of vid, but it all looked very similar. Subsequently, this is the final vid I shot of the evening , as I was getting tired. It was legs day right before saber training began...

As you can see, everything was going well until my saber went out! Thanks for watching everyone!!!

Looking good, Gum🤙🏻 a little more rotation at the hips can bring back some of the power you felt you lost  by keeping your back straight(at least when doing some of your horizontal strikes). And don’t forget on some of those one-handed strikes and thrusts to use that free arm as a momentum builder when doing the waist and hip rotating action by extending it out opposite your strike.  But seriously, how much more power do you WANT?!  I feel like you could make that plastic blade hurt like a real one as it stands😆

Well, that’s a good point master! I’m always thinking of it as a real sword, so, you know, requiring the driving force to get the blade all the way through heavy targets. What’s funny is I NEVER get to strike a target that many times with an actual sword, unless it’s tamshigiri practice on tatami or pool noodles! Normally, with steel, I strike it, cut it, and have to place a new target. In any case, yes, more hip rotation, I can definitely understand that! It’s usu not an issue in my hand strikes, but my muscle memory is more refined in that area!! Thanks Master Graestar!!!!
