So my gf (we'll use her RP name of Marah) and I were goofing around last night with our sabers, and I figured I'd post a few pics just to show you how they came out.  Just fyi, she has a Violet Amethyst Archon v1, while I am using my Luke ROTJ along with several others in my collection - my Guardian Blue Aeon, Fire Orange Dark Standard Issue sabers, etc.  The red one I have is one of two nearly identical blades called the Dracus blades (named for Lord Dracus, the guy we bought them from - he had them custom made).  As you might guess, Artorius has the other - we figured it'd be cool to have matching Sithy blades... you know, just in case we had to go Dark Side on somebody ;)

@ThreadJack:  Thanks man!  I'm pretty lucky to have a hot lady who will pose with sabers - it's like a dream come true haha.  I'll have to get a close up with the Dracus hilt, it's actually a fantastic looking saber.

@Kham-Ryn:  Hahaha I'm not a giant I swear!  I'm really only 6'2" - that is pretty tall I'll admit, but I think I just SEEM huge in these photos cause my gf is like 5'2".  And I have a small apartment lol.

@Kev:  I'm banning you from the forum for mentioning midiclorians in my thread :P  (jk of course)

Thanks for the feedback guys!  Like I said it was a lot of fun making these - she puts up with my nerd stuff pretty well all things considered, and she loves taking pictures so it's a good combination really.

@Kham:  I personally love the Fire Orange against the Dark Standard Issue hilts I have - it's a cool contrast.  Also, it's a bit of a unique color since few people seem to have it.  Oh, and the profile pic is from that night as well - one of the ones I didn't feel was necessary to post (since it's now my profile pic lol).  Thanks for the compliment though, I like it quite a lot!

Note:  The "fallen in battle" one is literally just me laying around.  I was feeling lazy while Marah was tinkering with the camera so I laid down (this was rather late at night) and she grabbed a picture.  I thought I'd post it cause it looked kinda funny.

Nice. I think you should get her an Archon V2 with Obsidian for christmas. She would love that. Get the VA still but with a blue lighted button. That would look killer. =]

Great pics. I love the Fire Orange on my Bellicose as well, it is an underappreciated color  :). You are very fortunate to have a GF who shares your interests to that extent. I've just now convinced my wife to go Jedi for Halloween this year, however i dont think shes completely sold on it lol.

Haha she's not quite convinced to where she will go Jedi for Halloween... but I think I could sway her to go Mara Jade one day.  She likes dying her hair red, and she has considered it before... we'll see!

@Cantus:  Yeah I bet the VA with the blue AV switch would look fantastic!  Especially on the V2.  I think I'd go with something smaller for her though, especially being as she uses a single handed style like me.  She tends to grip towards the middle of the hilt, so I was thinking of looking into a Liberator for her eventually...

Nero, have you considered commissioning a Jacen Solo fatigues from Twin Roses? Just saying.

@Ty_Bomber:  I really should!  Big Jacen Solo fan, though I could just get some kinda jumpsuit and go with that too.

@Kham:  The VA seems to vary honestly.  The ones I've seen are pretty well balanced - not too pink, not too blue.  The cool thing about them is you can goof around with color discs to nudge it one way or the other if you don't like the shade.

@Master Caine:  Yup, Artorius and I snagged them.  They're pretty awesome, the detail on the hilts is really nice.  Not used to the 3/4" blades but they seem sturdy enough so I'm not complaining!

Love the fire orange.... it's one of my favs. Such a dim color compared to GB or the others near the top of the brightness scale, but it fits when you see the color in person. It's powerful, but... it feels precise. The light feels more concentrated, and the glow softer. It's like it's a subtle lightsaber, if there is such a thing. lol

Also, I know how you feel about the height thing. I'm 6'1" and my GF has never been less than 7 inches shorter than me. For the longest time she was a full foot shorter, which is funny cause she's older, but she caught up a little bit the last 2 years. Personally, I find the extra height afforded to us semi-giants to be a great advantage. People hate my reach.  ;D

Anyways, awesome pics there Nero! I'd love some close up shots of that LD blade, it sounds sick but I can't see much of the hilt itself in these shots. lol

See, 5' 2" would be perfect for me. Then she's not too short(like borderline midget), but she also wouldn't be taller than me in heels! XD.

I can't even my girlfriend to take pictures of me with my lightsaber, so you're pretty lucky that she will take pictures with you.

On the subject of height, I'm 6'4" and my girlfriend is 5'6".

Yeah, height is pretty cool.  It definitely helps - when I actually managed to use it in fencing it was a great asset.  That is, when those damn fast short people weren't getting all up in my grill...

@Sarich:  Yeah I'm lucky, photography is kind of one of her passions so I think she ACTUALLY had as much fun taking these as I did.  Which is scary lol.

@Darth Wraith:  Thanks my man!  I wish you the same.  I'm not in any hurry to have younglings, but at the same time the thought of getting them their first lightsabers is pretty exciting ;)

It would look very nice, I've been admiring the Archons I've seen in the reviews here.  Very nice hilt.

The thing is, she was just telling me the other day how she liked my Dark Standard Issue - the slanted emitter and the simplicity of the design really do it for her.  This makes me consider getting her the new Dark Standard Issue V3...

LOL. Sounds like she's going to the dark side. A Dark standard V3 with VA would be very sith ;p

There is a yellow/gold - it's called Sentinel Yellow.  Secret color, you can special request it (like Pyrestone).  Just ask Kham-Ryn!

Oh and by the way, here are some pics of the Dracus hilt as requested.  Artorius's hilt is identical, except for the placement of the jewel near the emitter (they're meant to be dual wielded).

Sweet hilt! Do I spy a kill switch in the bottom of that pommel? What kinda goodies is that sucker loaded out with? The weathering on it is awesome!

That is a kill key.  The baddie has a MR Maul board, Red-Orange LUX III LED, Corbin v1 drivers and 4.8v NiMH batter packs...  I have the other one  ;)

*is envious* lol Very nice. I like the Maul boards. Something about the MR Darkside soundboards always appealed to me, which is funny cause I'm a total lightside guy, but I love the deeper hums you get from the Vader and Maul boards. :)

Haha, it's good to see someone else who uses their height to their advantage. I'm 6'5" myself and while duelling the extra reach has come in handy on countless occasions. Now if only we could get US to release a 42 inch blade for us giants...

I am very small (5'6") and my gf is way longer. Used to battle boken with longer people though. I would say you have to watch the smaller fast ones if they are managing to block upwards and slide under your guard :P

Metal.  It was a custom hilt I got off a guy elsewhere.  It's an excellent hilt!

@Stephen - those short people always manage that!  It happens in fencing too... they move faster to compensate for their lack of reach, slipping inside your range.  It's quite effective.

No sadly it doesn't, it's just there for show.  The one on the bottom is actually a kill key though, which is nice to have.

There are so many fighting styles here... Wish it was managable to meet all of you and hold a small tournament.

Maybe a european Meet can be arranged one day.

I can see why Fire Orange is perhaps a bit less popular (the red blue and green are your main movie colors, and everybody likes purple), but that actually makes it cooler to me.  The rarity of it makes my saber more unique.

I'll have to make another thread like this with my new Consular ;)  ...or maybe just update this one!

Are the blades for the Fire Orange the normal or heavy duty ones?

Heavy grade, 32".  They work exceptionally well for the staff, I recommend them.

@Chuckiton - I have been meaning to grab a SRD saber...
