Title: Anti-Vent Post by: Darth Logos on November 16, 2016, 06:12:22 PM Considering the recent Archer-related posts in the Venting thread, it got me curious.....
What are some of your go-to devices that never fail to pick you out of a bad mood? 2 of mine are RVB and Archer. They never fail to make me laugh, no matter how foul my mood is. My other go-to is gratuitously blowing up copious amounts of $#!% on Ratchet & Clank. ;D ;D ;D Good times. Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: scifidude79 on November 16, 2016, 06:41:27 PM Swinging around one of my Ultra Sabers usually lifts my spirits. If I'm in a really foul mood, a good violent video game usually helps, especially shooter games.
Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: KraytDragonPearl on November 16, 2016, 06:44:07 PM I like to play racquetball it alleviates all my stress, but my number one happy time is shooting big guns
Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: Darth Logos on November 16, 2016, 06:46:30 PM I'm beginning to think that most of us are in agreement that shooting something/someone makes us feel better.
I used to play paintball, but that hasn't been available to me in some time. :'( Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: Jev Moldara on November 16, 2016, 06:51:37 PM Dragonball Z: Abridged.
Holy crap I have never laughed as long or as hard at a show. They took all the stories, amped the characterizations up to 11 (so Goku is a complete idiot, Vegeta is even more egomaniacal, Nappa is a psychopathic man-child, Chi-Chi is a stereotypical Tiger Mom, etc), gave them all absolutely hysterical lines while sticking to the story, and shortened things up a LOT. If I'm in the mood to blow sh!t up, I just log into Star Trek Online and get into a PvE queue, hit a Red Alert, or go to a Deep Space Encounter. It's amazing how much the idea of snuffing out thousands of electronic lives can affect your mood. It's like mass murder but without the consequences. Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: scifidude79 on November 16, 2016, 07:03:56 PM I'm beginning to think that most of us are in agreement that shooting something/someone makes us feel better. It really is a great way to go, especially if someone in particular is ticking you off. You just pretend you're shooting/blowing up that person. ;) Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: Darth Logos on November 16, 2016, 07:04:38 PM Speaking of preying on the innocent....

Painting a miniautre is also a good way to center myself. I take very nice looooooooong walks to clear my head and if that doesn't work, I find a nearby shooter arcade game and pretend I'm shooting my wife without the consequence of jail time. Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: B1ondeange1 on November 17, 2016, 03:04:37 AM I dunno if I really have a goto.
When younger it used to be taekwondo/ jujitsu or my kick bag. Nothing makes you feel better than a good workout where you come home sore and covered in bruises :P and I wore a large hole in the dirt ground under my kick bag. Grass never grew in that spot coz it wasn't given the chance lol. I also used to read a lot of fantasy novels. These days nothing specific. Sometimes anime. I guess writing is one of my main go tos? Never used to write before joining the saberforum RPGs, now ill write something in my stories on most days. It used to be a story based on one of my RPG characters but lately it's a new fantasy based story with magic and mages and magical creatures :) Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: Vivectius on November 17, 2016, 03:31:05 AM Monty Python. Shaw Bros. Kung Fu movies (really most of the Kung Fu movies from that time with the horrible English dub work). MST3K (the originals). Most serial killer documentaries. The Blues Brothers.
Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: Majobu5 on November 17, 2016, 05:40:10 AM As a plump individual, food can brighten my mood. And it's often just something simple. A bowl of cereal with ice cold milk, a triple peanut butter and jelly sandwich, a handful of wheat thins.
Depending on the performer, stand up comedy makes me better. The sound/smell of the ocean. But my heightened senses mean I usually start to get annoyed at the cars passing by, or the smell of salt permeates my nasal passages, and I find I'm more pissed than anything. Scratch the ocean Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: Noctis on November 17, 2016, 11:27:10 PM I go to the gym and pick up heavy sh*t. I feel GREAT afterwards. I started to wrap the rope light around the palm tree, the kids were on their bikes, and it began to sprinkle. I thought I had an hour before it fell, but no. That sprinkle turned into a shower in a matter of seconds. We were in a rush to get the tree wrapped, the kids went frantic to get undercover, the neighbor is applauding us on the "dedication" of braving the rain, and once it got done, we all rushed to get the inside decorations out of the rain and into the house.
Now, it might sound like a vent, but we had fun! Once the dust settled, we all just took in that adrenaline and had a laugh about it. I thought it was cool, and F you if you care less!😁 Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: Darth Tepes on December 04, 2016, 06:00:39 AM Chopping firewood (so satisfying to feel the heft of the ax and the split as it sunders the wood), emptying a few mags out of my 1911 and test cutting with my swords are my main go to's. BUT, I am in a situation where those are not options at the moment. So....watching Vanoss and H20 Delirious videos and polishing the weapons mentioned earlier suffice.... Anything to keep away from stress/angry eating.
Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: Taegin Roan on December 04, 2016, 07:34:42 AM Chopping firewood (so satisfying to feel the heft of the ax and the split as it sunders the wood), I know that feeling. The best part is when the log doesn't split apart all the way, but enough that you can just rip it apart with you hands. Makes you feel really good then. Or punching a punching bag so hard that the chain breaks, and it goes flying back against the wall. That is good too. Agreed on the wood, many a time I have picked up a piece and ripped it apart enjoying the feeling...much like Cap in Age of Ultron. As to the punching bag, never hit one hard enough to knock it off the chain (my father could and still can)..but I did rip one down from the limb it was hanging from...with the limb still attached to the chain.....back when I was strong and young. Actually, there's a bit more to it than that. You have to hit the wood in just such a way that it splits down pretty much the middle in order to get the right size pieces. Also you need to make sure the wood is of a proper age. Too old and it'll burn itself out before the fire gets good, which wastes time and effort as well as firewood. Too green and the wood will smoke like crazy, ruining the enjoyment of the fire and presenting a health risk that's far in excess of the benefits. Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: Darth Calon on December 07, 2016, 08:47:29 PM I love chopping firewood. I get to break something.

Well you can chop it whenever, but burning it is different. For burning, you want it to be dry. Not green or punky (rotten) I love chopping firewood. I get to break something. ^^^ Title: Re: Anti-Vent Post by: Darth Tepes on December 08, 2016, 01:03:10 AM Yea, you have to "read" the wood as my Father called it. Ever see someone chopping wood stop and turn it a different way? They are trying to hit it along the grain. Then as mentioned you have to cut it to the size you need. Then the real fun comes...stacking it so it will dry/stay dry. But while It was not easy work, by gum I was strong as hell.
