Lightside Points Are Appreciated

I just found a really cool tutorial on Youtube that shows how to spiral wrap a staff, and I applied it to my Initiate V2 LE handle. In the tutorial I believe he uses braided nylon rope, but I used 550 paracord for my wrap.

Here is the tutorial:

Here is my saber handle with the Spiral Paracord Wrap:

Hmmm interesting does this make the saber easier to grip or is it slippery?

It's kinda nice, but why did you waste your money on an LE just to cover up what makes it an LE? You could have saved the extra money and got a regular Initiate.(I'm just curious, I mean no offense.)

It's kind of subjective, but I think it feels great as a grip, and not slippery in my opinion. Others may not agree. Overall, I like the way the spiral braid fits naturally between my fingers when holding the handle.

I get what you mean. I really like the Initiate LE just the way it is, and will probably remove the wrap after a while. I figured though, as long as I've already done the wrap, why not show it to others who may want to see how it looks on a saber.

Fair enough, you could also remove the wrap to tie up those pesky kids that try to take your saber.

Ahh, I get ya. It's always good to experiment with different things once in a while. It's a nice wrap, anyhow.

Just to show some variation, I tied a noose on the end before starting the wrap. This is my Dark Initiate wrapped in red paracord

This next photo shows the noose coming straight out from the original clove hitch knot

One of the things I like about paracord is that it comes in many different colors. I had purple and yellow handy, so I wrapped my Dominix V2 to show some color variations.

I hope this proves useful to someone. Thanks for checking this out.

using the different colour wraps on your last set of pics is a cool idea and opens up some interesting possibilities

I like the noose. Reminds me of how they used to make us wear wrist straps in High School and Jr. High PE so you wouldn't loose your grip on a paddle or racket playing Raquetball or similar games. Kinda funny, when you aren't used to it, but HIGHLY practical and I imagine it would translate VERY usefully to lightsabers.

Another nice feature of paracord is that you can take shorter lengths and melt the ends together to create a multi-colored length which will alternate the colors as you wrap.
I'll post up pics for an example.

I did a quick wrap on one of my blades to show how the joined lengths of paracord transition from one color to another. Also note the difference in the ends. In the top picture the Red end is melted to prevent fraying, while the White end is frayed and loose. I recommend melting the ends.

That is really cool. I especially like the look of some of the other colors.
