Title: My New Shock LE
Post by: Tyl Kindarin on November 25, 2012, 02:29:37 AM
So, after getting my wedding officiant a Consular as a gift (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=9123.0), I was hooked on Ultrasabers.  My wife sprang for a gift certificate for me and let me use it now to take advantage of the Black Friday sale, and so I just picked up my first (for me) Ultrasaber - a Shock LE.

I had picked the Shock LE originally, but after the Manticore came out, I knew I loved the look of that emitter.  So, I decided to wed the two together, and it came out looking AWESOME (well, I think so).  I also sprang for the recharging port, which is really nice.

I ended up getting a Shock LE, VA with BO FoC, in an UltraEdge blade.  I also got a nice blue AV switch.  But, enough of that...on to the pictures!

(sorry if the resolution isn't great, I was using my camera's phone)

I have it charging right now, because the balance of blue and red in the LED seems a little wonky.  I projected it against the white walls in my bedroom to give an example.  Do they normally look this way?

So far, love it, and the Manticore emitter goes nicely with the Shock LE body.  A good combination!

What an awesome combination. That's an excellent choice, especially for your first saber.

Point for you.

Very cool combo!  I'm pretty sure the Arctic Blue is made with an RGB LED, so it might do that.  Hopefully someone can chime in and correct me if I'm wrong.

Point to you, sir!

Yeah, when the blade is lit, if you look around the emitter, one side is pink and the other is more blue. I just want to be sure that is normal for VA, and not a defect in my LED.

It's probably the batteries that aren't charged enough, they're the culprits in about 90% of the imbalance issues. Try again once they're fully charged.

I can see them just fine...

I charged it, but the two color issue is still there.

I charged it, but the two color issue is still there.

Then it's probably something with the LED. Shoot an email at the US guys, they'll figure something out for you.

what color did you get as a FoC color, because you put in your first post BO? is the problem youre having with the blade in or out?

My fault on the color. I got orange, and crossed my wires and thought Blazing Orange. :P

Talked to Emory via email and confirmed that my LED is supposed to look that way. Enjoying my awesome saber!

Violet Amethyst is a mixture of a Red LED and a Blue LED from a RGB LED.  If I remove the blade from my SRD, I see both Blue and Green on the wall.  It is a great power indicator as well because when your blade begins to turn more Red, you know that you need to charge.

I honestly have to say that the merging of the Manticore Emitter and the Shock was a great choice.  Orange is also a really nice flash color IMHO.

Thanks for sharing the pics.

Man that merging looks awesome.

The Manticor is not my favorite saber, but i gotta admit that he has one of best looking emmiters!
