Title: New Saber: Raven
Post by: Deep on May 02, 2011, 05:24:01 PM
Ultra Sabers is proud to present the Raven.  This is a Sith warrior's ultimate weapon.  It's big, it's bold, it beautiful and it's ready for combat.

This model comes with 3 Raven's Claws in two different versions.  Our normal version adds 5.75 inches to the length of the saber.  Our Super Sith (SS Edition) Edition adds 7.75 inches to the height of the saber and it looks awesome.  These are some well machined, high quality claws that will get your saber noticed!  Fear not!  The Raven's Claws are sturdy, well mounted and made for combat.  However, if the situation calls for it, they are easily removable.

This saber also comes with 2 choices of pommels.  One plain silver pommel that goes very well with the saber and helps accent the entire body.  And a Super Sith (SS Edition) pommel that helps has black grooves and a black bottom and help add to the overall look of the entire hilt.

WOW! very nice ultra an affordable sith stalker saber you should have a pic with the claws taken apart with only the emitter on the saber also will you eventually offer these claws in the store like the war Glaive claws?

Ok, question of the day...  Before I order one, will we see one with a black emitter and claws, and when?  This is an awesome saber and an awesome homage to Starkiller's Sith Stalker.  Probably the closest to a replica that US has made.  Holy hell this saber is sweet!

This is at the TOP of my wishlist(in Blazing Red of coarse). I would like to congratulate Ultra, Deep, and the rest of the US staff, on making what I believe to be THE coolest most BA saber I have ever seen. WELL DONE!

agreed.  US have always been the brightest and most durable, but they are becoming the most ornate, intricate, and unique without compromising what made them Ultra Sabers.  Congratulations guys.  The competition must hate to see this caliber of saber roll out of the US shop time after time.

This saber looks amazing! I'd love to know the dimensions... especially the hilt length. With the claws attached, its hard to tell just how long the actual grip-able handle is. Still, this thing is freaking awesome!

I'm really liking the look of this one.  I have to say this is definitely the most BA saber I've seen on the site so far.

Title: Re: New Saber: Raven
Post by: Ultra on May 03, 2011, 01:15:26 PM
There are no plans to make any other versions of this saber except for the RGB version, of course.

As for dimensions, the hilt is 13" long from end to end.  SS claws add 8 inches to that, standard claws add 6 inches.

Title: Re: New Saber: Raven
Post by: Ultra on May 03, 2011, 01:26:23 PM
There is only one hilt, and it is 13" long from tip of emitter to bottom of pommel.

There are two sets of claws.  The standard claws add 6 inches to the saber's length and the SS claws add 8 inches.

Would you be able to special order one with a couple extra pieces (emitter and claws) anodized for a fee?

We don't offer anodizing on an individual basis, but you can probably find a metal finishing shop in your area that does plating, polishing, and anodizing.

You might want to just email them at [email protected] to try to catch them before your saber ships Senti.  They usually get stuff out the same next day in my experience.

I have the same problem with this saber as I do the war glaive, those spike would hurt like a bitch if you got whacked with them in close combat. Not sure I'd feel safe dueling with it.

@shadowkatt:  I agree, and that's why they're removable.  However, I don't get in too close when I'm dueling, so I'm not too worried.

Man, this is practically a dream saber of mine, without the claws it looks heavily Qui-Gon and Padawan Obiwan influenced. If I were to ever get this it'd be in Adegan silver, but I've got college to look forward to in terms of expenses.

Absolutely AWESOME!  I already modified another US to look VERY close to this for my son's Starkiller costume.  It turned out great, with my own machined aluminum spikes & all!  I'd post some pics here, but don't know how.  Question- Can this saber be ordered with an Anti-Vandal switch installed by US for an extra fee?  I see it's not an option.  If not, too bad, as I think it would add to the appeal!  Either way, I'll be getting one of these to add to my collection! ;D

Post by: The_Night on May 06, 2011, 02:23:18 AM
will there be DIY pieces for this? Would be an easy mod into an Obi-TPM perhaps. just get a pommel with the ball on the end of it, the right shaped shroud over the ridges and cutouts at the emmitter.

Post by: Stopher on May 06, 2011, 06:07:31 AM
When I saw this withouth the claw8 I thought that the sleek lines deserved a #8 or #4 pommel, just to continue the lines through. The stock pommel is too abrupt and square for my liking

Also, was wondering if you plan on doing black claws?

Title: Re: New Saber: Raven

I'm wondering if the claws for this are interchangeable with the ones from the war glaive too, those are sweet.
I'd also love  a shorter claws option, perhaps 3 or 4".

Some one is going to have to take a picture of this as a staff, it may just be worth the 300 for it...

Title: Re: New Saber: Raven
Post by: Ultra on May 07, 2011, 09:23:50 PM
The claws are not interchangeable with the War Glaive, we have no plans on doing black claws, and we don't have an exact date of when the RGB will be available, but we're hoping it's soon.

Title: Re: New Saber: Raven
Post by: ShadowKatt on May 07, 2011, 09:42:08 PM
Most of the sabers that US offers come with a saberstaff counterpart, the initiates, SI and libs, even the prophecy, and they come at a very slight discount. Any chance that some of these new sabers like the shock, bane, glaive, or raven might get the same treatment? Because I keep thinking that a raven staff would be a very intimidating saber, although I lean more towards a bane staff for practicality.

Sounds good to me! I'm definitely saving for a SS ed. RGB Raven!! When it gets time to order, I think I might drop you guys an email to see if you would be willing to do a custom order for black claws.  8)

Naaah, you're okay by us! The Jensaarai are light-side, we just use Sith teachings in a light-side context of honor & self-control. Most Jedi are alright by us, once they realize that they need to loosen up and take their lightsabers out of their backsides, LOL...   ;D

I have been looking at the Raven for quite some time now and been itching for another saber purchase. Just having my birthday yesterday and not doing much special I think that getting the Raven would be a nice treat for myself, even though I have one in the works from Vader's Vault coming my way. It looks like I may be getting two sabers which is always nice. Just have to get my next paycheck and place the order.

Title: Re: New Saber: Raven
Post by: Darth Wraith on May 13, 2011, 06:00:15 AM
This may be my mistake, but when I think of the "Jensaarai", I get an image in my head of what seems to be an almost "Mandolorian Jedi".  They have the armor that resembles that of a Mando (in my opinion at least) and the attitude of a Grey Jedi by all estimation.  Do they even have a code???  As the Sith, and Jedi both have a Code they live by.

Title: Re: New Saber: Raven
Post by: Rall_Kethil on May 13, 2011, 02:14:37 PM
The "official" Code is actually fannon not canon and goes like this:
I am the protector of justice.
    I know no emotions,
I know the truth of the force.
I am the Protector of worlds.
I know the power of the true Force.
I am the defender of the true way.
The Universe knows not of my existence.
I pledge myself to the Jensaarai.
For I have found true life,
In the protection of the people I care.

However, it could also be closer to the original Jedi Code:
    Emotion, yet peace.
    Ignorance, yet knowledge.
    Passion, yet serenity.
    Chaos, yet harmony.
    Death, yet the Force.
(Plus one additional line: Don't be a jerk)

As for the armor, each is individually made, like your lightsaber, and often is made to resemble various animals. (The most famous illustration of a Jensaarai shows one in armor inspired by a Reek, albeit with a Mando-inspired T-shaped visor.) They're also cortosis-laced, causing sabers to temporarily short out when the armor is hit.

Nice! This is really cool, but I prefer the war glaive for it's light-side-ness and shorter claws. I want two war glaives with sound, guardian blue, a coupler with sound vents, and a prophecy coupler for when it needs to be quiet.

Ultra, any chance we'll see the Raven claws & pommels as separate purchase items in the near future?  I just ordered a SS edition with sound, & I'm thinking I'd like to be able to change the claws & pommel from the SS to the regular version whenever I want.  I noticed they aren't currently available for purchase under your parts listings.  I love the look of the SS edition, & that's why I ordered it that way.  However, as I bought this saber for use with my son's SL Starkiller costume, I'd like the option to be able to switch things around if I so choose to more closely match the look of the saber from the game.  Any info. on if & when you'll make these parts available for separate purchase will be GREATLY APPRECIATED! ;)

Yes, I too would like to purchase the smaller claws in silver if they are available.  I am trying to reduce the weight of my raven staff (a little), and try to make it appear that there is more "blade" than there is claws.

Yes.  Our couplers with vents work with this saber.

Is that coupler thicker in diameter than the Standard Issue coupler? Like the size of the prophecy coupler.

Title: Re: New Saber: Raven
Post by: Jodaan on July 06, 2011, 07:20:47 PM
It's an MHS coupler, whereas the Standard Issue Coupler is a "specific" coupler for SI and other small hilts (I don't know exactly the compatibility with other sabers).

It's like 1.5 larger than the SI.

I know it could just be the camera angle, but do the hilts have different claws? It appears the top claws are longer than the short ones. What I was thinking for my Raven staff is buying a set of the super sith claws, and having one long class opposite of the switch, and then two normal claws opposite of the ss one...

Title: Re: New Saber: Raven
Post by: Qui-Tom Helms on July 20, 2011, 11:50:00 PM
Sorry for taking so long in answering your question.  The claws are the same length on both ends.  The Saber was leaning slightly against the wall.  When I was taking the picture I was kind of looking down on it instead of straight across.

Additionally for the blades, the longer ones make the blades look shorter than they really are.  If I can get some regular sized raven blades I'm going to change them out.

Also, the blades in this picture is initiate ultra edge blades.  I still haven't gotten around to putting the mid grade regular sized blades on it yet cause I have not felt the force me to do it yet (procrastination-a $20.00 word for lazy).

Thank you Ultra Sabers!!!

I just got my new Raven (RGB w/Ob sound) last night. Outstanding look and quality, sound is loud and vibrant, and the UltraEdge Heavy Blade looks great when lit up!

Now all I have to do is convince my 2 year old son that it is not his... He wont even touch his plastic light saber we got him a Disney now, and he points to my Raven ans says, "Mine."
