Title: Music in videos. HELP!!! Post by: Master Bluespike74 on March 24, 2013, 11:21:19 PM I am currently using Windows Free Version of Movie Maker. I have tried to add an intro song but it will not save. I downloaded the song from a royalty free site that I really like and it is saved in MP3 format.
Can anyone assist me in getting music added to my vids? Thanks, Blue Title: Re: Music in videos. HELP!!! Post by: BenPass on March 25, 2013, 02:40:11 AM I wish I could help blue. I've only ever dragged the file over to the movie maker and it's worked for me. I hope you get it figured out though!
Title: Re: Music in videos. HELP!!! Post by: TheHobbitofDune on March 25, 2013, 03:01:44 AM I've been using WMM nonstop these past two days, and putting music into my videos hasn't been an issue. I just click the button that says "add music" on the default toolbar. Are you just adding the music to the video and nothing else? I think the issue may be that you don't have any title cards, video clips, etc there. Or maybe I'm just dumb.
Title: Re: Music in videos. HELP!!! Post by: Solinus on March 25, 2013, 07:09:47 AM Yeah, like the others have stated, I only use Windows Movie Maker, and it hasn't been a problem for me. I think it's the same one you use.
Title: Re: Music in videos. HELP!!! Post by: Master Bluespike74 on March 25, 2013, 07:48:13 AM I downloaded a royalty free music that I want to use as an intro. The problem is that it will not save the movie when I am done. It gives an error and turns the entire program off. Do you have to have the entire song there or do you have to trim it somehow?
Title: Re: Music in videos. HELP!!! Post by: TheHobbitofDune on March 25, 2013, 08:51:58 AM What is the error exactly? Also, you can use the entire song if you want. Trimming is optional. Oh, and the program works with music that isn't royalty free, so that isn't the issue.
Title: Re: Music in videos. HELP!!! Post by: Master Bluespike74 on March 26, 2013, 10:00:33 AM I get the video loaded with my intros and credits. That part I am well adapted but just recently tried adding music. The music loads without problem but it is when I go to save it I get "This program is shutting down due to an internal error." It will save as a project but not as a movie. This only happens with my royalty free MP3 songs. I loaded a song from my Eiffel 65 CD (I'll let you guess the song) and it saved without issue.
Is there a way to publish the movie on YouTube with music from my CD's without getting the copyright ban slapped in my face? Maybe this is the direction I should be going? Just wanting to do some better videos in the future. :-\ Title: Re: Music in videos. HELP!!! Post by: Darth Nonymous on March 26, 2013, 11:34:24 AM I get the video loaded with my intros and credits. Most songs will only set it off to put a link to the artist or song on your page. The TPLA videos use lots of copyright material from artists and such. Most actually want you to because it give them exposure. Some song will prevent your video from being seen in places like Germany. But most of the time you will get a "matched third party content" message which you can then acknowledge and it should be fine. If a song get tagged as does happen, you can change the music on YT to some of their CC music. They have a bunch of it. Just wanting to do some better videos in the future. :-\ did you get all of the songs from the same source of royalty free songs? If so, there may be a corruption in the files that is causing your problem. Try also, going to sound cloud or Free music archive. http://freemusicarchive.org/ (http://freemusicarchive.org/) If you have nay other problems, PM me. I obviously use Youtube a lot. :D Title: Re: Music in videos. HELP!!! Post by: TheHobbitofDune on March 26, 2013, 08:25:49 PM Yeah, I use a lot of copyrighted material as well. None of my videos have been taken down.
Title: Re: Music in videos. HELP!!! Post by: Faa-Yal Dragu on March 28, 2013, 09:03:18 PM to be honest, it sounds like your software for window movie maker is corrupted. if all else fails, it might be worth deleting the software and re-downloading it. it should be pretty easy to find if you type it into google.
EDIT: found link for download for you. http://windows.microsoft.com/is-is/windows/get-movie-maker-download (http://windows.microsoft.com/is-is/windows/get-movie-maker-download) Title: Re: Music in videos. I suggested the same thing in the other thread! If you have Windows 7 though, you'll want this version http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-live/movie-maker-get-started (http://windows.microsoft.com/en-CA/windows-live/movie-maker-get-started) Title: Re: Music in videos.
