So my blaster came in this morning! I'm tempted to leave the blaster as is but just sand off the warnings and letterings and such. So here are some pictures and a demo video. I figured this would be good here since the blaster is considered a prop. All the info is said in the video. =]

What would be the best way to remove the black lettering and the etched in lettering? Can I sand paper it off and if so whats the best one to use?

You might be able to scrape off the lettering with an X-acto knife.

I'd use a fine grit sandpaper - the sort of plastic that they usually make toy guns from is pretty soft, and you don't want to put big gauges in it.  Try searching Nerf gun mods for ideas.

Is the lettering a sticker or is it painted on the gun?  If it's a sticker, use a razor blade to CAREFULLY peel it off.  If it's paint, I'd use really fine sandpaper (1000 grit-ish) and re-paint it after you sand it. 

Also, that gun really does look like an E-11!!!  Very cool prop. 

It was painted on but I was able to get all the lettering off but the Star Wars logos. Oh well. I decided to paint the blaster anyway. Got one side done and just waiting for it to dry. It won't be all the way black though because if I did the entire thing the light windows would've been painted as well. I think you guys will like the blaster either way when its done. =]

Blaster is done and painted and accidentally weathered. Lol. Another cool accident once again. xp One side is weathered and the other side has paint kinda drizzling down like rust is leaking or something. So I kept it that way. Looks pretty cool actually. I'll post more pics either tomorrow or Sunday. Still gotta let the blaster dry some more and let the fumes go.

And the blaster is done. Had to work the trigger a little bit. No puns. Lol. And again on the accidental weathering it reminded my brother of like an old Clone Trooper's weapon that he kept throughout his entire career and I'm liking the idea more and more. I had to post the one of me and my brother but that was taken yesterday. He might go as Anakin for Ohio Comic Con. =] I found him the perfect costume. Hope you guys like my modded blaster and his idea of it. =]

Oh and that is an Anakin ROTS 05 MR saber and no, no one can have it. xp Not converted or anything. The saber just still amazingly works. Lol. He loves it so I might let him have the saber. It'll be used for costume purposes only.

Looks nice, weathering is always a good thing in the Star Wars universe. If I may add a suggestion, how about a little silver paint over the white parts? If you use model paint and very carefully drybrush it, you could probably get a nice metal effect. Just throwing that out there. It looks good even if you don't do anything else. Can't wait to see the rest of the outfit.

I'm going to leave it as is. I'm not good at hand painting. xp I should be getting the outfit here soon though. Thanks for the comment though. =]

Also again sorry that my blaster wasn't painted professionally. I'm liking the rusted, weathered, burnt kinda look though more and more.

Good news! Getting my Clone Trooper costume tomorrow! :D Can't wait. It'll be so awesome and I'll feel like such a badass. Lol. More pics to come here in a few days because the costume store is from Indiana and that won't take long to get here. Probably Saturday or next Monday.

No go on the costume yet but it should be ordered this week. I'll keep updates. =]

Score! Costume has been ordered! :D Now to wait a couple days sine the place is in Illinois. Only like 2 days away from Ohio. Way excited now. Lol. This'll be worse than waiting on a new saber. xp

Nice. I've actually been tempted to buy a couple of these blasters and paint them, myself. It's a good cheap way to get a costuming prop.

@Jack. That's exactly what I was thinking. You don't always have to have the big fancy stuff.

Didn't realize the Clone Trooper shoes were white and I got black ones. I hope this is okay and doesn't offend anyone. xp

Surprise costume shipped so watch out for some surprise pictures next week. =] It'll be here either on the 17th or 22nd or in between.

Also I don't mean to multiple post but I finally came up with that August Burns Red/Texas In July style riff. Sounds good I guess. I'll do a video this weekend. =]

Woot. I might get my costume early this week. It just left Cinci same with a new ring I ordered. xp Didn't think it'd be that quick though.
