OK... now I'm having too much fun. There's really no end to how one can put a couple of MHS compatible sabers together. Here are two other sabers that I configured out of my arsenal last night. Ultrasabers are remarkable creatures: you can know one for a lifetime and they will still find ways to surprise you. OK, so that's Hobbits, and I've only had these sabers from a month to a year.

I remember once posting in the suggestions area for a Dark Archon, or a Darkon, I guess, and it turns out that I had one the whole time! Here is the Ultrasabers "Dark Archon", or the Overlord with the Archon emitter and pommel - in BR/FO, of course!

Then I figured I'd see what happened if I attached my actual Archon as the bottom grip to my Bellicose. The Archon is in EG and the Bellicose in CG (as usual), and the silver flush vented coupler that joins them also acts as a crystal chamber of sorts. It's a really neat effect, and the saber is very surprisingly easy to handle. Who knew?  ;D

That bellicose great saber is awesome! I love the crystal chamber! Major props!

I love your Bellicose Greatsaber, the Bellicose was already a hilt I was looking at getting, with a Yari pike extension to get this type of hilt result, would it be better/easier to just get another hilt like your Archon or another hilt to achieve this?

I actually have another question regarding your Greatsaber design, since I don't currently own any of Ultrasabers products, or any for that matter, it looks like your Archon plugs into your Bellicose hilts pommel through a flush coupler screwed (or however they connect) into where the Archon's blade should be, my question is, are there hilts out there that allow me to achieve your greatsaber hilt style without having to having to give up that other blade, aka connecting pommel to pommel?

Yes. Any v3 saber or MHS compatible saber can have these parts interchanged. On the greatsaber, since the Archon has an MHS compatible emitter and pommel, (as does the Overlord), I decided to make the other side of the staff a grip to the top saber, and have the LED shine through the coupler. The normal thing to do is put these things pommel to pommel - I'm the weird one here!

I was/am considering an option like yours, having the blade color shine through the coupler is a pretty neat effect, but yeah, my original idea was basically to have a pommel to pommel Greatsaber and simply have a plug in at all times, until I felt like getting in some saberstaff practice anyways, but I think your version of the Greatsaber looks a lot better, I think when the time comes to purchase, I'll simply have to deal and get an actual saberstaff from them
*edit* Sorry, I mean get a saberstaff in addition to the hilts I'll get for my Greatsaber

point for ya bud on a neat idea.  I'm not that surprised it works nicely, reminds me of the nodachi of the samurai.  It was used primarily as a horse killer, but I also know nowadays people love them for slaying pretty much anything in the SCA  ;D I even caught a Viking with one lol

I myself am a fan of the longer hilts, 12 inches is pretty small for me when the emitter and pommel are included in that length. 

Thanks mate. Check out the Arbiter or Dark Arbiter if you prefer longer hilts. I'd love to see a full Dark Arbiter with an Overlord coupled on top. That would be awesome for a long hilt, without going overboard that is. Is there really such a thing? :)

If memory serves, Sasaki Kojiro favoured this weapon because it had a slight reach advantage over a regular katana. He was, of course, beaten by Musashi Miyamoto, who fashioned an even longer weapon from a wooden oar!

I have some menial experience with naginata and nagamaki/nodachi.  I have a TON of experience with a Scottish Highland Claymore.  I gotta ask, how do you think something this massive would do in a sparring match?  I'm thinking in the TPLA world of swordsmanship.  My primary concern is in protecting the hilt from a Sun Djem disarm where we get our lightsaber hilts get sliced a'la Darth Maul.  I do like my oversized weapons and this is very cool and a neat way to make a crystal chamber with the second full hilt, let alone how intimidating it could be having two obsidian soundboards inside ;)

I have 0 experience with weapons, so I can't answer that. All I can say is if these were real I would have dismembered myself by now. lol

As for the sound, it's very loud! It sounds cool because they have different fonts.
The Overlord has the default Obsidian font and the Dark Arbiter has BlackStar!

Considering the hilts are stronger than the blades they hold, you won't have an issue being the recipient of Sun Djem. (You and I could duel safely, in other words ;))

I was actually meaning "in character" or "in universe" rather in the real world.  I know how tough these lightsabers can be.  Back in 2003 I first jumped into the custom lightsaber scene because my little sis had broken her Hasbro Darth Maul while we were playing and it broke her heart.  I'm definitely a fan of how things progressed rather quickly to aircraft grade aluminum. ;D

point to you still!  Love your reviews and those massive lightsabers are really wicked!  You have my favorite number btw now for your force points ;)

Eventualy I will be making a great saber but insted of  using two hilts. I'm just gona use  one hilt with an extenension. Its too bad they don't have a gold anodized pomel like the  one for the guardian cuz that would pair up nicely with my shock that's comming in

That's actually the right way to do it! If I had an extension, I would have used that for sure.

Or maby I could get another shock hilt that hasn't had the switch and covertech holes drilled.

Eerockk, how long is the greatsaber's hilt? and i just noticed you don't live to far from me according to the sparring map! When im done making my hilts i wouldn't mind going a few rounds if you're game!

The Bellicose is 13.5" and the Guardian is around the same, plus an inch for the coupler, so about 28" or so total. It's a good two-hander.

Hey Eerockk this is a random thought but ever considered doing a Greatsaber staff?

A three-hilt staff? I've been enjoying a saber javelin, as Kagemusha Shin posted about recently. It's a two-hilt staff with a 36" on one side, and a 24" (Padawan) blade on the other. It's basically a greatsaber with a bit of a surprise at the other end. :)

A four hilt staff? I'll need my 24" blades for sure, but I think I can manage that...

I just wana get another shock le body without the switch holes to make a shock greatsaber.I guess id have to get the 36" or if I can get it a 40" blade.
