So... I said I would make a thread about this a few days ago. Better late than never, though, right? ::)

Anyway, last week my family and I went on vacation. SOTJ opted to stay home, which was all fine and dandy until she stopped eating and drinking completely for two-ish days and fainted in the living room, hitting her head on a bookcase. She called 911 after realizing that she was bleeding badly, then she called my parents and we returned home. By the time we arrived she had been taken by ambulance to the ER.

As some of you may remember, SOTJ had already been planning on admitting herself to a hospital because of her lack of appetite and general instability, so after spending several days in the ER getting her head checked out (fortunately, she had only sustained a minor concussion and the bleeding was just from a bad scrape) and waiting for a room to open they transferred her to the psych ward in another nearby hospital, where she was put on medication and given official diagnoses (which I may share later if she wants me to, I forgot to ask last time we visited).

Everything was going fine there until she was tranquilized and put in the "quiet room" (solitary confinement, basically) for a few hours after she assaulted two nurses. Since then, her stay has been without incident and her appetite has partially returned, although now that she's on assault precautions they'll keep her in the hospital a little while longer.

Yikes! Well I'm glad she's recovering well! Please, by all means, let me know if there's anything I can do, and let her know I'm praying for her.

Good news - neither of the nurses against whom she lashed out were hurt seriously, and with a bit of luck she should be discharged sometime next week.

Sweet! There shall be tons of Internet hugs and awesome memes upon her return!

i wish her a speedy recovery, and .. even though i dont know Luna, or SOTJ in any way other then you both being members of the forums.. i know how it is being stuck in a hospital, and head trauma is always a rough thing to go through...

So... bad news :-\

I won't go into detail, but it seems that SOTJ is very fragile at the moment, physically and mentally, and she's feeling worse and worse as time goes on. We aren't worried about discharge time now, since obviously her well-being is the only priority at this point, but it almost certainly won't be next week.

Oh no :'( I hope she gets better fast.

Crap, I'm sorry to hear that, since if you aren't worried about discharge time, it really is serious. Best of luck and I hope the tides change quickley for her and for you.

Thanks for the updates Luna.  Just found this thread today.  I am wishing her the best and hoping that her appetite returns soon and that she begins to feel much better.

Sorry for the lack of activity, life has been hellishly busy lately.

SOTJ is doing better than the last time I posted here, and due to her rapid recovery and she's allowed to see visitors again.

However, she's proven herself to be quite the escape artist/smuggler. She got her hands on some glitter and used it to exact her vengeance upon just about everybody else in the ward.

Sorry for the delay, a ton of stuff has come up lately. Anyway, there's good news and bad news.

The bad news is that SOTJ is still in the hospital. I can't share details, but basically a bunch of memories that she had forced herself to forget reemerged due to the problems that initially put her into the hospital, which led to the complications that have kept her there (assaulting nurses, for example).

The good news is that she'll be out of the hospital around this time next week due to the amazing amount of progress she's made over the last week or so. She is, without a doubt, the most resilient person I've ever known.

It sounds like she's getting the help and the support that she needs...when she gets out I hope she'll consider continuing with that support. Very glad that she's leaving the hospital next week!

I can't reply to everything, but I'll explain some stuff.


I was a little hysterical and distraught at the time, so they seemed very threatening for some reason. The tranq hurt like %^%$, in fact my thigh still has a faint bruise. It's good to know that I can still hold my own, though ;)


Pretty self-explanatory, if you've been here for any amount of time. Glitter is my thing (which can and should be taken in just about every way). Opportunity combined with my love of glitter and dislike for the ward created the perfect storm.


I almost posted an explanation, but it's not even close to forum appropriate. If anyone wants the facts, pm me and I might give a summary if I know you.

Tomorrow night I'll try and post about my diagnoses but right now I'm exhausted and mentally numb. Thanks again for all the kind words 8)

I've never met you, but after reading the thread and hearing, at least in part, some of what you have been through I feel concerned and saddened.  I hate to see people unhappy, especially women (I'm old school nice guy about that, just the way I was raised.)  Anyway, I am glad that you are doing better and hope that you get back to 100% soon.  I look forward to have some nice conversations with you here on the forum.  So what kind of saber hilt is your favorite, and what blade color do you like the best?

So rather than making a new thread or clogging up Random Thoughts, I'll post an update here.

It turns out that I've just lost my mind ;D For a little while the docs thought I might have Creutzfeldt-Jakobs disease, which is a pretty nasty neurodegenerative disease with a 100% fatality rate. The news that I'm just nuts is quite a relief. The fact that I've lost a bit of my coordination is probably a side effect of the cocktail of medication I'm currently taking and we're working on finding the source of the issue.

Also, I no longer have internet at my house, so I will only be posting when I'm at Luna's (which is a lot of the time).

That's good news in comparison to what they thought it was. I am sorry for all the troubles, I hope things Corinne to get better!

Sooooo....

I've made progress in leaps and bounds and I've decided to become nomadic once again, perhaps adopt a monastic lifestyle.

While I really do like this place and the people here, my fear of technology outweighs the benefits of coming to a single site, so this is goodbye. I know I haven't been active lately anyways, so this won't be much of a change, I just figured I ought to let everyone know what's going on and why I won't be active anymore. Thanks for the good times folks, I'll miss you :-*

This is very sad news, but I understand its for the best. Though you weren't as active as many other members you brought a significant presence to the forum. I wish you the best in life, and I hope you can always follow your heart. Though we never had much interaction here on the forum, I'll miss you. I know I'm not the only one.
