Hey there,
I'm a bit of a 'steam-punk' fellow, and quite like suits. I decided to try and come up with a costume which could be evil, but not necessarily affiliated with anyone in particular, and I came up with something that looks a bit like some kind of Space Mafia:

I intend to use a Dark Liberator v3 in Fire Orange with this suit.
So, what do you think? Any suggestions?

Unless it's a black fedora I'd ditch the hat. I'd get a black one with a lil bit bigger brim. IMO great idea though!

Yeah a bigger black hat would look way better.

I dunno. I don't see the evil grin either. Just a smile.

The issue for me is, a suit is an everyday clothing article of the modern man. So it's hard to put it into costume when it's just a random costume without much work. It needs other articles of cosplay to stand out as a costume. At least, in my opinion. Even if you slap a lightsaber on your belt, it's just, "A guy in a suit with a lightsaber". So to me, it doesn't read as a costume.

I'd say, perhaps, maybe look into the clothing styles of Star Wars, and try to find something similar to your "Space Mafia" feel and try to emulate it. Even regular, everyday clothes in the Star Wars universe have a sort of "style" and "feeling" to them.

Sorry, I forgot to mention - I am also working on a couple of cosmetic attachments, such as scars and cyborg-y bits. This picture was only really designed as a clothing-test, for people to tell me if the clothing works. (Sorry for the miscommunication)

Indeed. I've seen Airplane and Airplane 2, as well as the Hot Shots! films, so I'll have to look for that one.

First off, lose the trilby. Not just for this costume, just get rid of the damned thing.
Look at Mcquarrie's concept art for inspiration, look at the male costumes, specifically the entourage of Jabba the Hutt. Space Mafia? That would be the Hutts to a T, so if you want to look the part, try pulling some ideas from that. Also, you might want some backstory as to why there's a Force-sensitive in cahoots with the Hutts.
On the other hand, you want classy? LANDO CALRISSIAN.

Space balls is a great flick, if u haven't seen it u got to watch it. As stated before u look like a guy in a suit. I'm no expert when it comes to costumes but it doesn't fit the Star Wars theme. You need to go towards what a smuggler might looks like or previous stated Lando to pull off some sort of space mafia.

I'd completely forgotten about Lando. I'll have to look into that one. Also, thanks for the idea of the 'Hutt entourage' concept. :)
