Title: My Guardian
Post by: scraver on March 05, 2014, 06:13:38 AM
So, it took me a day to get myself sorted out, mostly because my camera gear was still in the boot(trunk) of my car from a previous job - and I had to find a polishing cloth - but here are a few pics of my Guardian.
It feels a little large - maybe long in the blade - when I swing it around (of course that could be my major lack of skill and poor coronation) but I totally love it.

It pulses VA/DVA at the moment, still planning to tweak the timing. No FoC for now.
Haven't changed the sound font yet either, but we know I will.

Nice and congrats on the pick up! The jealousy is swelling, but my Guardian will be purchased when the timing is right and not a moment sooner.

Good choice on the Guardian. Which blade did you order with it?

Gorgeous lightsaber!  VA/DVA looks perfect on the Guardian.  As I've heard from others, once you spend some more quality time with it, it shall feel like an extension of your arm :) and the cumbersome feeling will fade.

I like the pommel on the guardian ... using it on my pasta blade

I find the Guardian pommel gives an interesting resonance to the idle hum.

Did you order yours with nickel plate or without?

Yeah that's nickel, if you look closely at the polished back groove pattern you can see a slight difference in reflection however it does not show up so much to the naked eye...the overlord is very similar in that aspect.

Mine's the nickel version too.

I find myself pondering a Yari, a coupler and a shorter blade... just to try for lolz.

A slightly more closeup shot on the hilt.
People will have to excuse me getting creative with some of my pics (when I post them). The look of this is quite intentional.

Great hilt, it is a lil big compared to the other hilts, but you get used to it. My guardian is now my fav hilt and I'm going to add sound to it this summer

Yet another quick image post from me, and this one isn't colour related.

Now and then I still spot posts where people mention that the Guardian pommel is "quieter" then some others. I don't find mine is that quiet and so I went to have a good look at the pictures provided by US (which may be of an older version of this pommel). Here's a pic of mine.

If you go and look at the pictures in the Main site page for the guardian you'll see that it's more like drilled holes, which would be more restrictive.
One of my hobbies is car audio and I can say that the style of Grill over a speaker can make a fair bit of difference to the sound.

Mine is only quieter compared to a vented pommel but has Eerockk says it lacks a certain resonance.
