Title: Temporary but Cheap Mod Post by: Kresnik on March 23, 2014, 05:31:39 AM I did a terrible paint job on my aeon v2 so I bought some hockey tape 3.99 and wrapped it ...
I actually really love it right now... Extremely grippy, no way it comes out of my hands and the black looks nice. This is a test run, I will most likely stick it on my clamps and do a proper wrap job but I like it. I've been thinking about putting some white hockey tape on my Dominix v2, so this is great! Nice look, too. Thanks! :)

Title: Re: Temporary but Cheap Mod Post by: chicago.jedi on March 23, 2014, 10:37:07 PM That actually looks pretty cool.
Here is a thought....how about if you cut the tape away from the emitter and the fat part that the switch sits in to let some of the silver through? Paint can always be removed with a Scotch Brite pad and a little elbow grease. :D I have had to remove paint a few times myself. Title: Re: Temporary but Cheap Mod Post by: Yetso on March 24, 2014, 02:12:18 AM Not to be a bummer, but hockey tape wears out relatively quickly, the adhesive separates from the cloth and sticks to the surface of the stick (or saber in this case) and could ruin any sort of finish.
Now that that fyi session is out of me, it does look good, and I'm sure its comfortable. Good job :) Title: Re: Temporary but Cheap Mod Post by: Kresnik on March 24, 2014, 03:25:24 PM The plan was to re paint it so as I said the mod is temporary.
Although to fix the issue that Yetso pointed out is pretty easy as I have done it on another item ... Matte clear coat... A few applications of Matte Clear coat and it pretty much seals in the hockey tape |
