Title: A Beginners guide to spinning Post by: Darth Cephalus on May 21, 2014, 12:29:05 AM After a discussion I had with people in the Way of the saber portion of the board, I thought it might be worth while to take a step back and look at what I consider to be the basics of spinning. These videos should demonstrate what I am talking about. I have posted them here and in the way of the saber. My hope is that these might serve as a basis on which greater skills can be scaffolded. I am definitely interested in feedback if anyone has any.

Part 3 covers directionality and the clock face. Switching between upward and downward wield and basic movement with the saber are demonstrated. www.youtube.com/watch?v=awHtHsetywA (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=awHtHsetywA#ws) Part 4 covers using the Obi/Ani spin to turn and introduces the full standard plum flower. www.youtube.com/watch?v=18lOJMSL9Qw (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=18lOJMSL9Qw#ws) Title: Re: A Beginners guide to spinning Post by: Darth Cephalus on May 27, 2014, 01:23:40 AM Here is the last video of skills that I would consider basic. It deals with the inverted Obi/Ani used for turning and the inverted plum flower spin. From here I will be moving into a series of intermediate videos dealing with reverse grip, hand switches, and adding beats as they pertain to the plum flower spin in particular. As usual, if any part of this needs clarification or if I missed anything, please let me know.
