Title: Gauging Interest in Black AV Switches
Post by: Lord Canterbury on May 07, 2015, 10:10:09 PM
Hey Everyone,

This started as a discussion in the Suggestion Box thread and enough people liked the idea that I thought it was worth giving it it's own Topic to hopefully gauge interest for Emory & Co. regarding this potential option.

Right now - all momentary AV switches available on UltraSabers w/ Obsidian are stainless.

We were thinking it would be GREAT to have the option for Black Anodized AV Switches as well - particularly for use on hilts that are otherwise all Black like the Dominix, Dark Prophecy and one of the new Flamberge models.

(It would also be awesome on the Chosen One CE w/ the Black Activation box - illuminated Red.)

Based on the checks I've done, these appear to be readily available from a lot of electronics suppliers, so acquiring them shouldn't be an issue.  It would pretty much come down to there being enough demand to make it worth stocking & offering.  (Well - that is my assumption anyhow.)

So there it is - if this is an option you would like UltraSabers to strongly consider making available, then let your voice be heard here!

Perhaps, if there are enough replies - it will be something they consider for the future.

Thanks for taking the time to read this & reply if you are interested!

If these were available I'd order them on every black hilt I get - no hesitation.

I second this motion.  I upgraded a stunt Dominix V3 with sound and a black AV switch, and the black switch looks so much better on a black hilt.
I have to agree with you on the Chosen One as well.  I don't have one yet but a black switch would be perfect for it.

Well, I guess I will third this motion then since Drahcir beat me to it.

I would certainly go for these, and they add another entire layer of customisation to US's range

Same here for sure. I'd just have to get an appropriate saber to match and such. You know how I am with that :P

Nice!  That looks fantastic.  I'm actually contemplating putting a latching black / illuminated red switch in my v4 Dominix stunt.

Yes, I'd definitely love to have this option - and any other colours US may want to go for! Blue and red would be great additions, if they're possible.

I would love to have them as an option for all anodized hilts (i.e. black, Azure and Crimson hilts), too! Great suggestion, James & Lord C :D

I would like this option too! I would also like stainless/black latching switches as well. Standard or AV.

Glad to see a lot of UltraSabers & the Forum's regulars are getting behind this!   :)

Food for thought, Emory!  ;)

All of those would be great. However, after seeing that green AV switch, I gotta say that I would love to see a green anodized lightsaber on offer.

Very cool, Lord C. I'd love to see more options like this.

US did experiment with green and red coloured hilts a while back as a Christmas promotion, I believe. I'd really like to have a green one some day.

Indeed ,a dark green LE  hilt would look awesome! I have only seen one green hilt and it looked COOL!

^ This, this, this, this, THIS!!!

The option for a black AV switch is much needed addition to the US family, I have a couple of sabers (all black hilts) that would be sent in to have black AV switches added.

DS point awarded.

I think it would be a good idea as well. Also, in addition to this, I think giving the option of either 12mm or 16mm switches would be fantastic, available in latching or momentary.

Absolutely!  The more options, the more benefit, the more US can realize in revenue!  It's a win/win proposition for all involved.  You know where I stand on this, Sarich.
