Title: Need some information
Post by: Quild on June 26, 2015, 04:53:48 PM
Hello all I just received my Archon V2.1. My question is if I want to take out the blade and carry it on my belt will I need to get the plug the fits where the blade normally fits or can I just carry it with out any thing there. More or less I just don't want any thing to fall out when upside down.

You can get a blade plug if you want the added security, but I don't think you have to worry about anything falling out.  I believe the neck part has a thinner diameter than the MLS unit so it should stay put..  Just don't let anything get into the emitter that could damage the lens or LED.

Btw, great choice in sabers.  The Archon is one of my favorites.

Molina is right, the inner diameter of the neck is smaller than the overall size of the MLS, so no chance for the LED to slide out and hang around...

I love your saber - the Archon is one of my favourite sabers, too :D

You can buy blade plugs cheap or you can certainly make one there is bunch of cool ones people have made for their saber but yea should be fine without it when it's off ;)

I would get or make a blade plug for sure, just to be safe. Better safe than sorry.

If you have urges to activate it w/o a blade, I recommend a plug. Those MLS units are blindingly bright, except FO (not so much). As far as holding the guts in, the neck of the emitter will hold the MLS in place very securely, so no worries.

Yes, to Darth Logos you listen :D Now, to be serious again, a blade plug is definitely not only for aesthetics but it's also a serious means of safety for your saber and the eyes! Well, actually, I wouldn't even recommend looking into the LED light with a blade plug installed - it's still damn bright and intense...too bright.
