By pre-on phase, I mean that the blade is coloured before it turns on. Like maybe you have seen some cosplayers around with a lightsaber that is red before the LED is turned on. I have been looking for this for about a week and can't find any information on what people call this or if people are even talking about these at all. Are these blades people just painted or is it something different where the LED still shines through?

I am asking because I really want a few after seeing them at conventions a lot, but I keep forgetting to ask the people where they got the different blade. Could someone help point me in the right direction or even go as far as to tell me some vendors that do this?

if you search your feelings (and google "trans red polycarbonate tube") you will find them.....   ;)

Would these trans red polycarbonate tubes be similar in strength to Ultrasabers Medium or Heavy Grade blades? Or are they weaker?

Has anyone asked if Ultrasabers would consider making them as an option?

I wish they would as it appears I might have to build the blade myself out of parts and that would make things a whole lot easier. I might just hit them up about it tomorrow about it.

Here's some photos of red polycarb blade that I was able to get from a local Cdn. plastics store ( fairly costly ).  Is the heavy grade thickness with no foil insert.  I have not yet cut the tube down to blade sizes and there is no tip at the end of this long tube.  You will get the idea though.  There is one of the " other guys " that sells fully made red blade with tip.  :)

Dark Menace with " day " red blade.  Then same lit up.  Challenging to photograph the red as has a quick pulse to DVA.  Lastly a red stunt saber.  So basically a red LED lit through a red no foil blade.

I don't know if I can recommend stuff from TCSS, but they have thick and thin walled colored tubes available. I assume a blade diffuser does the same job as the UltraFilm, one of these will then be needed as well. However, I did not see colored tips.

Just checked another sabersmith's site.  Only makes these red blades with red tips for his special custom orders.  Have no idea how he paints the pointed tip to keep the illumination unless actually forms them himself from a red polycarb slab.   :)

Here's some info for coloring the blade tip.  This is really for show or day colored blades and the color may not be a perfect match.  Lightly paint a coating of Gallery Glass Window Color for a stained glass look.  Let dry and re-coat as desired.  Can be purchased in small bottle from most craft stores.  Also there is a Krylon spray but there would be a lot left over.  I'm going to give it a go.  :)

I've been using red thick and thin blades.
Ordering the parts and putting them together myself. Thick walled blades are nice and tough but sacrifice a little bit of brightness to do so

I'm not fluent in Sith Prophecy yet. What does your text say?

I've wanted a Dark Proph LE ever since I was given a Dark Proph. I would love to have all the minor diameters in silver, but am afraid to do it myself.

It says "passion strength power victory" then oblivion in the last groove. And to answer the strength of the blades: the thick walled red that I've been using can really take a beating. I use djem so and it holds its own. I cracked it by hitting it against concrete slab. A small crack that I patched with some crazy glue and took it to another night of dueling. Held together fine

~¿~ Part of me hates you for getting the jump on me to engrave the tenets of the Sith Code on a saber. But most of me respects you for creativity and like-mindedness. I have the idea to do "strength, power, victory, freedom" on the claws of a DWG. Points.

Oh my. I didn't even know a dark prophecy LE existed!! I got into saber combat a few  months ago.

A long while back there was a silver/black version.  This beautiful saber appears to be entirely a customization.   8)

I think J.C. said he won a Prophecy CE. All nickel plated and shmexy with its bad self.

I sure would like to own that CE version as it would look so rich and older.  Shmexy to the 10th degree.   8)

And some might consider a Dark Lord on this forum saying this to be . . . Unnatural . . . but based on these pics, I actually think I would greatly prefer this to a Chosen One.

A) It isn't for regular sale, therefore it does not exist on a regular basis.
B) Not unnatural. I greatly prefer the Proph to a CO for dueling, spinning, etc. The only reason I got a CO is because it's iconic design. It's a legend. Now if the linear grips were about 100 thou shorter off the body, I'd reconsider.
