Cool. Little plump in the rear for my tastes (for sabers anyway), but I REALLY like the choice you guys are introducing in pommel / emitter and so on. Luke fans should love it.

I think it's really cool, so don't take the following remarks to be more than it is. This is just meant to be helpful criticism from my own personal opinion, nothing more. I think it would look better if the switch was on the bottom section of the hilt. Also the bottom section looks a little fat. Without seeing it in person(or someone holding it) that is hard to judge though. I think it would generate a lot more sales if it were possible to make a luke v2 out of it by simply adding a clamp over the switch(if it were on the bottom section). It's still a pretty awesome looking saber though. Great job.

@ Ultra:  Hope your hand is doing better.

We build our sabers for combat functionality first and foremost.  Looks are always a secondary consideration, however we do strive to make our combat sabers look as good as possible.  

The lower portion of the hilt is no wider than any other MHS compatible saber.  Actually, it is thinner than some sabers like the Raven or Bane. Maybe the pic angle is creating an illusion.

 Trust me, the switch is placed where it is for a very good reason.  Most combat duelists would complain if the switch was right where the trailing hand would normally rest.  Also, the standard set up for an Obsidian soundboard install would be hampered if the switch was placed in the lower portion of the hilt.

My one question: Does it have a Covertec wheel?

(Even if it doesn't, DO WANT.)

A saber reminiscent of the Luke V2 without the highly unpractical control box?  AWESOME!  Shame I'm so madly in love with my custom Luke, otherwise I would have one of these ordered already ;)  I can only imagine how hot these will sell...

 It does not come with one. The sabers design is conducive to either a d-ring or covertec, which you can easily add.

Great. I am at a crossroads here. I was gonna get a grab bag, and then in late october a Belicose with sound. I am still getting my sound bellicose, but a grab bag can wait. With my 170 dollars i will have by month's end. I am so getting this saber now.

Firstly, Nero.... off hand saber? Would compliment your Luke SOOOOOO well.

Secondly, Ultra, Deep, fantastic job. The Luke RotJ has never been my personal favorite, but even though I don't plan to buy the Archon V2 I can appreciate it a LOT. It's a great looking hilt that you've already shown looks AMAZING mixed with parts from your other sabers (I'd love to see a Shock LE emitter on one!) and as I pointed out to Nero will serve as an excellent match up to the Luke, Obi, or any number of other movie sabers as well as plenty of your own line. Also... I am in LOVE with the thin neck! It REALLY separates this from the rest of the line and it looks fantastic!

Thirdly, which should have been firstly, Ultra: Get well soon, I hope your hand heals fast and easy. Injuries are never fun.

How long is this thing exactly?

The hilt is 11.375" according to the description (end to end).

No problem.  I think it would make a very nice staff myself, so ordered two of em.  I was waiting for the Manticore, but once I seen it, I decided to get the Archon instead.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I should've waited. D: The new Archon V2 looks awesome. Perfect for a Sith saber as well. Oh well. I'm still going to try and score an Obsidian saber and the Archon V2 is on my tops list.

I will say that in my personal opinion this is the second coolest saber on Ultrasabers now. The first being the Bellicose. I'm not a sith kinda guy, so most of the other cool sabers don't appeal to me. Also, what is this manticore I keep hearing about?

A beautiful saber indeed.  Question though.  What MLS unit does it use?  The larger one for the Bane / War Glaive / Raven? Or the smaller (and cheaper) one for the Prophecy / Dominix / redemption?

That's the only MLS unit that exists. The other one isn't an MLS.

Is there a way to do away with the black part under the emitter? Like maybe some type of coupler that would bring the emitter down to the hilt?

Awesome saber! i just ordered one. Does it come with a covertech knob? Just wondering, I didnt see one attached. If not, is there another method of attaching it to a saber belt?

If you wanna go with the Luke ROTJ look try for a d-ring.  Either method would work fine though I'm sure.

Which is the classic pommel on this saber? The one with black on it or the one that is plain?

Don't quote me but just off the top of my head I'm pretty sure its just the Normal pommel.

So is the normal pommel the black and silver one that is pictured on the site or is it that plain silver one. This is confusing on the order form when trying to order this saber.  Can anyone get a confirmation on what pommel is what.

I think it is the plain (all silver) pommel.

If you check the product page of the Archon v2, it clearly shows the plain silver pommel below the words "This is the Archon v2 with the Classic pommel (below)."

So, the black and silver one is the normal one. And the plain silver one is the classic version.

And this saber is AWESOME! Sadly, I won't be able to but it in some time as I'm thinking of ideas for custom work on my Shock LE staff first.

Yes, the one with black is the regular, and the one with silver is the classic. Although I'm not sure why the one with less work done to it would be more expensive.

Yes that is what is throwing me off and why it is confusing me... you would think the plain silver one would cost less but that is not the case here. Odd... very odd

The black and silver pommel comes standard.

The all silver pommel is the classic version.

Don't know why the all silver pommel is referred to as the classic, maybe it has something to do with the "classic Luke" look, but I doubt it.  I do howver prefer the silver and black one myself.

I personally like the black(original) one better as well. Gives it more of a custom look.

I'm getting an Archon V2 with Obsidian sound in November sometime. :D Heres a design though I thought you, Ultra, could use for a Nemesis V2. Again sorry if this isn't allowed, just thought I'd help out. Let me know what you all think if this would be a good Nemesis V2 design. I kinda like it myself.

While I lean towards the Dark Side, I'm thinking this saber with a Consular Green LED and a green AV switch would be AWSOME!

I was all set for saving for a Consular but I love this design of saber so much more! Must... resist... emptying... savings account.

I agree with you color choice. I don't own any movie like sabers so if I got an Archon V2 it would probably have to be green. It's either this or the Consular.

Idk.  I just don't consider the Archon a movie style saber. Sure Archon v2 has some of the features of Luke's saber but its just not it to me IMO. But yes when I do get this saber I myself am going with a green blade and a green AV button. Plus other customizations later on when the custom shop opens. I might even ask to tweek the green for the blade just a little before I place my order

Not sure how much they can really "tweak" the color itself, as the green comes from a single color LED.  Can't hurt to ask though!

Without the activation box and some other minor details it's not a true "Luke V2," but then again Ultrasabers is all about combat ready sabers.  They took the Luke and remodeled it, removing the box (which gets in the way of a good two handed grip) to make it nice and streamlined.  I love it, and like I said it would be mine if I didn't have a sick Luke ROTJ already...

O never liked the box on any sabers. It gets in the way. Makes handling a saber uncomfortable.  That sucks that they can't tweek the green just a little. Would have liked a darker green. But oh well.

Ask them anyway!  Maybe they can do something, I don't know.  The worst they can say is no!

They can do great things with the RGB LEDs , be very descriptive when you ask.

Indeed. My friends all hate my box sabers, but I love them. For me, they ADD to the security of my grip (I'm strange lol) and if others have to use them, I generally get an advantage in that they don't know how to hold them right. Makes it great when duel wielding and someone tries to steal a saber...

Sexy saber.  Just moved up to #1 on my list.  Going full Obi on this with a blue saber and maybe a blue illuminated button.  We'll see how I feel:)

Correct, its not a movie saber, and its not trying to be one. Its our own take on the classic flanged look adapted for ease of use in combat.

And if I may add, "realistic" ones. I mean, you think them as weapons, with the less possible things to get in the way when fencing with them ! That's why they are so damn awesome, they are not just thought to be good-looking (with all that "mighty technological" stuff on the movie sabers) but handy and durable.

Damn, I'm glad to throw my money into these sabers, because they are so worth it !

I'm still getting the Shock with Sound. I'm not totally sold on this with sound though. I think I may get this just to have a Darkside looking stunt saber for use in movie making. Can't have everyone using lightside sabers in movies, it just wouldn't be right.

I really like this saber. Is it able to hold ultra edge heavy grade blades or will they need to be sanded down to fit the emmiter and blade holder?

Starting to consider getting one of these for my Sis for christmas. She's a pretty big Luke fan, so one of these might be perfect. Dang you Ultrasabers, taking over my life.... XD

This is a UltraSaber , not a conversion. It will hold all of their blades as it is designed to. Put in a blade, tighten the retension screw , activate , duel!!

I'll still get the Shock too. Just, I'll be getting this first.

Lets do this.. I get this saber in counselor green and you get it in sentinel yellow and we can compare. ;p but I agree I think this saber would look sick in sentinel yellow.  Might have to try that myself.

I think it would look good in almost any color. Now I'm actually curious on how it would look with Dark Violet.

But yeah this look like a really fun saber to tinker with. Can't wait to get one. =D

For color tweeking-you pick one of the colors that costs 5.00 extra (arcttic blue, srd, va).  So far the typical special colors that are normally asked for are:  Sentinal Yellow, Pyrestone Orange, and Dark Violet Amethyst.  Any other color that you may think of such as (example) a light consular green or a dark consular green, I would email US and ask if it can be done.

Don't forget Bane's Heart (VA with more red)!

I just pulled the trigger on this order, just couldn't resist. li-ion obsidian consular green and quick disconnect with both pommels since I could make up my mind between the two. Together with my red Raven and blue Consular this completes my perfect little obsidian troika ;D

I myself will have to order a Banes Heart sometime, cause now I am curious to see what it looks like.  I went with the black and silver pommels, but will be putting them together to form a staff with the black coupler with vents.

... and, for the record, got my shipping notice today  :o  *amazing* turn around, I'm really impressed. US is really hitting their stride atm which i'm thrilled to see. these recent releases are ballin!

Sorry for the double post, but, Eeegads, I just got the dreaded UPS exception notice!  My Archon was well on its way to getting here a day earlier but...they got detoured to Jacksonville Fl.  I think UPS is really playing with our sabers and not telling us :D :D :D

I can't wait till next week. I get paid and I don't have any bills coming up. I can finally order this saber. It will be my first of many sabers to come. Now my only problem is deciding what color blade to get LOL.  All the colors are all great looking. I'm thinking maybe article blue because my first born son was born last Saturday. Being a good alt to a sapphire blue Im going to dedicate my first ultrasaber to his birth.

With this saber have a Covertec thing so that i can clip it to my belt for show, I am currently undecided whether this or the bellicose should be my first ultrasaber, any opinions on this matter would be greatly appreciated, i am leaning towards the bellicose because it is cheaper than this one, but this one looks awesome,

This saber does not have a covertec wheel. It would not be hard at all to attach one if you wanted too. I am ordering this saber next week. I'm impressed with the price for it even after pimping it out with all the extra goodies that you can order in a saber. If you are wanting the bellicose then get it. Don't mind trick yourself. Second guessing yourself on what saber you want can rapidly turn into a stressful decision. Just go with what you feel is right for you.

I agree.  It was an idea that made my choice set in stone. I couldn't waffle on that choice. Besides artic blue is a beautiful color for a blade. And looks great on any saber

yeah, I've been wanting Arctic since it came out, but I think looking at what's out and what I have planned the only thing I might put it on is either my SI or a Luke ANH FX if I could dig one up someplace. Love that color though, and imagine being able to tell the kid one day that your saber is how it is because of him. If he's a fan, that'll rock his mind. :)

I wanted a luke RotJ saber so bad but I think this would be way more awesome because it doesn't have the power-box and it looks like the V2. Also being MHS compatible and w/the obsidian soundboard the options are broader. ;D It's a shame that I'm currently between jobs. :'(

I recently picked up a Consular. Although I like it, the Archon is better. I want to take the electronics out (LED, AV switch, Obsidian and battery pack) of my Consular and put it in an Archon. I'm hoping I could sell the Consular hilt.

@Manroon. I know this is an old thread, but since you got one, when you duel with the Archon V2, do all the pieces stay night and tight together on the main hilt body? Thanks. I'm thinking of getting one whenever I can. I wanted to know before though if the hilt stays together nicely during dueling.

No probs, Cantus. I haven't actually dueled much with it. I originally purchased the Archon as a gift for someone, but seeing as how said person has seen fit to treat the rest of the family like bugsquat lately, this may change. lol I HAVE, however, put it thoroughly through it's spinning paces, and my better trained friend has run it through some of his more insane velocities. It stayed tight and solid through all of it with no problems, and in fact, when I went to trade out some of the MHS parts and do a little custom work on it, I found that it had come VERY tightly assembled from the shop. I tell you, that neck ain't comin' loose 'less you twist it hard and on purpose. lol I also have to note it's well balanced for RotJ style fighting. What you see Luke doing.... that's what the feel of this thing makes you want to do with it. ;) Plus, it works AWESOME as an offhand, or for Form II combat. It wields alot like a prophecy, but with a different look. I like it, myself. If you're thinking of going after one, go for it.

Ouch. You too, huh? I was lucky though, I felt it start to go and got off with something like a minor papercut that healed in a day or so.

@Manroon. Will do. =] Glad to know that it will be a nice solid saber even though its made of 4 different pieces. Are there still soundboard issues though since the bottom half is still kinda small or has that been fixed since then?

Mine's rigged for silent running, but it looks to have plenty of room for sound if you're careful. Obsidian shouldn't be a problem with Lith Ion.

@Manroon. I meant length wise. I know there is plenty of room inside the hilt. Like from the button to the pommel.

Ahh. I see. Well, if memory serves, it should be able to fit a board in that space if it isn't super long.

Funny thing is o just got the complete star wars saga and I had it playing while I was laying my 3.   month  old son down on the floor to let him play. And he had his eyes glued on starwars. So I am sure he's a fan :)

I got more info and I think the saber/board will be fine. The others said they haven't had any room issues at all. I'm just concerned about that is all.

I must have one of these sabers for my RotJ Luke costume for when I get married!

I still want an Archon. Seems like a good stunt saber as well. I might go for one next week if I can. I like the lower grip portion of the hilt with the 2 grooves. That's what draws me to the saber. =]

They have updated this to a version 2.1.  Maybe that is the renewed interest?

They've added the option for the normal pommel as well as the classic, something I've not seen since joining...

It's the next saber I had in mind. Glad I can get the black and silver pommel to match my Bellicose. The Archon v2.1 (coool!) will be the EG shoto I've always dreamed of owning. Just a matter of time now!  ;D
