Title: Dark Initiate LE v4 Review Post by: Sabernerd0 on February 09, 2016, 10:45:32 PM This was my first purchase from Ultrasabers as well as my first ever lightsaber and I couldn't be happier with it! It's a fantastic hilt and if you're interested in it you should check out my review.

Title: Re: Dark Initiate LE v4 Review Post by: Sabernerd0 on February 10, 2016, 12:48:05 PM Thanks man! That saber cost me less than $100 and in my opinion it's worth every penny. I've never seen such a durable lightsaber. I've dropped it HARD multiple times onto my cement garage floor and other then the pommel scuffs it's totally fine. Honestly I kind of like the damage, looks like battle damage. I also replied to your comment on youtube about the engravings.

Title: Re: Dark Initiate LE v4 Review Post by: Sabernerd0 on February 11, 2016, 02:26:16 AM To do the engravings I put my hilt in a vice to hold it. But I had it half wrapped in a towel to keep the sides from getting scratched up. Then I just used a dremel and free handed it.
Title: Re: Dark Initiate LE v4 Review Post by: CrimzonNinja on February 12, 2016, 03:07:16 AM oh dang a dremel..lol don't know if i could do that LOL i had to look that up to see what it was and i would probably screw my saber up doing that...i wonder how well oil or acrylic pain would go on this saber?
Title: Re: Dark Initiate LE v4 Review Post by: Sabernerd0 on February 15, 2016, 12:51:42 PM Well if you put oil paint on your saber it would take ages to dry. Whenever I paint a picture on canvas with oil it takes several days sometimes even up to a week to dry. And id imagine with acrylic it would probably chip off over time and if you dropped it even once it would tear the paint all up. I could also see it coming off onto your hands depending where on the hilt it was. But I don't know for sure i'm just making a guess based on my experience with those types of paints.
It might work, but I'd imagine it wouldn't work as well as you want it too. I think since the hilt is so smooth the paint wouldn't have much texture to grip onto to keep it on the hilt. Unless you always kept it on a stand for display. Let me know if you would like light or dark side points and I will issue a point accordingly. 8)

I'm gonna get me a V2 LE in Consular Green myself just for fun and such with a bunch of Grab Bag Mid Grade blades. I never hit hard so yeah plus they can take as much of a hell of a beating as the Heavy Grade blades as well. Replacing all of them with my Heavy Grade blades so.
