Title: Did I make a mistake with my emerald saber?
Post by: Ginsu117 on April 19, 2016, 02:33:18 AM
I just realized...did I make a poor decision? I went with the recommended setting of channel 4 on my emerald being dedicated to my saber which would be white. So does that mean I cant use white when customizing the color? Only RGB now? And if so can you still make a pure white blade using RGB and ways around needing the white channel for blade colors only using RGB?

Choosing the dedicated option for the AV switch does unfortunately take up channel 4 W or A  :-\

The white channel gives the purest white and allows for lightening up other colors. Setting all other channels at 100% will give you a white with a slight red tint.

Ok, so I can work around the white and brighten a color using different RGB setting, and if I want white my battery is going to drain like hell lmao. Damn really wanted a pure white. Is this slight red tint bothersome or is barely noticeable?

If you are using it as a flash color, it won't be that noticeable, but as a steady blade color you can tell. It's definitely something you can work around though, since all the colors are made with RGB  :)

I think the mix for white is actually 100% green and somewhere in the 80's for red and blue.  In the Obsidian forum there is an emerald sub-forum with info on color mixes for Emerald as well, which can be very helpful.  Adegan Silver (White) is on the list.  :-)  Look down through the thread to find the newer percentage settings.

Or use the "Easy Mode" in the launcher which takes you to an RGB colour picker, similar to Paint/Photoshop/Illustrator and other graphics and photo editing software. There you can pick the pure White and let the Driver set the appropiate settings for the Red, Green and Blue channels.
