Can I assume that these are more Shii-Cho? Title: Re: guard positions... Post by: Master BStone on September 30, 2011, 04:22:57 PM @Nero...yup, left hand dominant. i do everything with both tho, since teaching kinda requires it.:)
@Kham...if by shii cho you mean a solid beginning, yes they could be considered part of a basic form. They've been borrowed from kenjutsu, medieval longsword, two-handed sword, and modern fencing. I've elected to do these two-handed to keep them closer to the body in some cases, and more stable in all. Just getting a feel for the camera in the fencing room. Title: Re: guard positions... Yeah that's what I meant, I should be more clear. I'll show my wife these. Title: Re: guard positions... Post by: navajas on September 30, 2011, 06:53:55 PM Great stuff Master BStone. I never realized you were a lefty though! If he IS a lefty, then the blade color is all wrong. Everyone knows lefty = darkside. Title: Re: guard positions... Post by: Master BStone on September 30, 2011, 07:48:46 PM hehe...Darth Tenebrus is definitely a lefty. *ahem*
i'll be putting vids together just as soon as i can get a few minutes, and then decide what i want to work on. first up will likely be tight, defensive actions that can lead into opportunities. a student of mine and i will also likely be putting together a routine or two. Title: Re: guard positions... Post by: ThreadJack on October 01, 2011, 01:40:42 AM These are some pretty good stances. I like third one best, though my favorite opening stance is the Obi-Wan:
