Title: Spinning Practice Post by: Enso Marr on November 14, 2016, 10:04:27 PM Really happy to be playing around with my first lightsaber! Let me know what you think.

If you want videos to be viewable on the forum, you can post the video's link a different way. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFDCxshgZcs&feature=youtu.be with http no s. The direct links Youtube gives never seem to work right. Just open the video and copy the view link. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFDCxshgZcs&feature=youtu.be http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxYOaLP7YuI&feature=youtu.be Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Master Resolute on November 15, 2016, 02:36:47 AM Very nice. Good flourish sweeps! Even a front to back to front halo.

Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Master Medwyn on November 15, 2016, 11:09:49 PM Splendid!
So smooth and controlled, lovely to watch! If you have more, please share! :) Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Darth Cephalus on November 16, 2016, 02:26:54 AM Excellent videos. Point for sharing, and hope to see more in future.
Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Enso Marr on November 16, 2016, 07:21:09 AM Thank you for being encouraging!
This is the only other video I have up at the moment, threw it up for that Spin Wars thing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FBja6wwN16I Also, I went to a gymnastic centre yesterday and had a few friends demonstrate some aerial stuff. Those clips can be found on my Instagram @MasterEnso. Sorry, haven't figured out how to post videos from Instagram here yet, any advice on that would be appreciated. Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Rathayatra on November 17, 2016, 06:18:24 PM Much Laud. Looks Great.
Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: azn86.jedi on November 25, 2016, 05:04:54 AM Very beautiful...
I can see lots of control in all the movements. Definitely stemming from your experience in martial arts. Periods of slow smooth blade movements followed by quick strikes and body spins. Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Enso Marr on November 25, 2016, 07:58:37 AM Not technically lightsaber, but this is me with my fire staff Wednesday night. This is the sort of thing I want to do with my saberstaff, but the length and heft is really limiting.

Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Enso Marr on November 27, 2016, 02:07:15 PM Go right ahead. Learning and sharing is why we post videos after all. Not sure where I picked it up, but I did see it come up in a tutorial recently.
This is video 12 of the Expert Village Bo Staff Attack Techniques playlist, from that Spin Zone: Tutorials list of yours. Apparently in bo staff terminology my assisted haloes are basically loops or reverse loops. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jYRmEXr22E Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Enso Marr on December 01, 2016, 03:53:20 PM My friend at Finding Future shot some video last week. Thought I'd throw it on here.

Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Enso Marr on December 24, 2016, 03:36:22 PM Here's a Christmas present. Merry Christmas everyone!

Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Enso Marr on March 30, 2017, 12:48:10 PM Finally got around to compiling some of the clips I've been posting on Instagram @MasterEnso.
Some single saber clips: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QChfp41pMtQ And here are the saberstaff ones: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJCeNxJ61Cs Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Darth Cephalus on April 01, 2017, 04:40:03 AM OK. now I have to practice that last one on the staff video. I sense wrist bruises in my immediate future.
Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Enso Marr on April 04, 2017, 08:42:48 PM Short combo and some variations for spinning the saberstaff. This is a fun one and looks great!

It would be cool if you could show them at a slow speed so we could see the moves better though. One's eyes get lost in the flashing red blades.
Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Enso Marr on April 05, 2017, 06:03:53 AM That's why it's posted to YouTube though, there is a slow motion setting. Set it to quarter speed and it makes following along much easier.
Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Darth Cephalus on April 05, 2017, 06:37:54 AM Been on YouTube for how many years now? And I never knew that. How did I never know that?
Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Enso Marr on April 13, 2017, 05:51:48 PM Not really lightsaber related, but here is some martial flow with a fire staff. Still having difficulty really getting into the groove with a saberstaff.

Wow! That's the kind of artistry we had in mind when we designed the gestures feature for Diamond. Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Darth Cephalus on April 14, 2017, 06:46:45 AM Very nice. I love those spinning neck wraps. It is my hope that this summer I can some of my fire stuff on film other than the practice sessions I have managed to date. It would give me a chance to show off some of the stuff I have stollen from you as of late.
Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: TheDutchman on April 19, 2017, 07:26:53 PM Really happy to be playing around with my first lightsaber! Let me know what you think. That was...just awesome. The fluidity, movement, surety. I wish that I had your dexterity :) And, I have to admit, I find the accompanying music soothing. Great job.Saberstaff Practice: https://youtu.be/tFDCxshgZcs Lightsaber Practice: https://youtu.be/cxYOaLP7YuI Title: Re: Spinning Practice Post by: Enso Marr on May 08, 2017, 03:48:30 PM One of my favourite performance concepts is to start with the basic tummy roll, transition away into some other technique, transition back, and then repeat. The audience would then be drawn in simply by varying chain length and slowly increasing technique complexity.
Here I demonstrate a bunch of techniques that combo well with the tummy roll. Practice chaining them together, and add in your own ideas! In celebration here is some free form spinning with my saberstaff.
