Just made a homemade quiche for the first time ever and it turned out beautifully. Very yummy.

Congratulations.  Do you cook much, or is this a new thing for you?

I cook every day. I love cooking. Usually Italian stuff, West Indian stuff and the occasional Oriental dishes.

But never made a quiche before. Always wanted to but never get around to it. Until now. Plus, I was thinking of making it one night for the missus, so thought I'd be my own guinea pig and maintain my status as a good cook.

I love cooking too.  Not for a living, (been there, done that) but I love to cook.  It's always good when you conquer a new recipe.  8)

I love cooking. Because I love eating. And food is good. Plus I need to make sure I get the right amount of carbs and protein every day due to my training down the gym.

Oh, sorry.  Different slang.  Over here, that means you're married.

So what do you use for girlfriend?

And missus can be used for both in the UK.

We just call them girlfriends.

Yeah, we're really simple folk.  :D  Though, you also have to remember that the US is so large that we have regional slang, so it's possible there are terms out there I don't know.  However, I like to keep it straight, simple and to the point.  ;)
