Title: Graflex SE accuracy hilt modification graflex clamp Post by: Chad mikolyski on March 03, 2018, 10:18:48 PM Hey all, I just wanted to post a couple pictures of the graflex clamp set up I used to replace the stock activation box that the graflex comes with.
This was actually super easy and took me about 20 minutes. First I just pried off the T track so that i could remove the stock activation box. I have to give US a shoutout for using awesome t-track. it snaps on and off really nicely and was really easier to work with than i expected. Very cool. Then i undid the screws on the old activation box, used the soldering iron to remove the solder from the av switch and removed it and its connected box piece. After that I just slid the cylindrical clamp section off down the bottom and attached the replica clamp the same way. I actually soldered on a really basic clicking momentary switch to the two grey activation wires and held it in place in the graflex clamp by wrapping it with electrical tape until it was snug. Now I have a replica clamp and a red card in it as functional parts of my US Graflex SE. I also am pretty excited that i now have a spare activation box and av switch that i can add to a different saber. i will probably end up adding it to the Standard battle saber i have to make it less basic looking. anyway: This mod makes the hilt closer to screen accurate which was what I was going for. Nice and easy! If anyone is wondering how hard it is to modify this hopefully these pictures help. Does anyone have any ideas for adding a d ring without losing the sound? It seems like that would be a cool next step but I feel like that would block all the sound

I was actually about to say maybe like a pin thing under the card just enough to touch the av switch when needed might work out for something like this.
