I'm getting a reaper The Reaper is massive at 15 inches long so I'm inclined to just say go with 32 inches. However, something tells me that it probably eats a bit of the blade so.... have to take that into consideration too. I was in a similar scenario myself but I had the ability to cut blades so I just went with 36 inches and figured I would cut down to a comfortable length. Maybe someone can chime In with how much blade disappears into that hilt, is hitting the ground while spinning your concern or maybe just the weight and overall look of how long the blade is? Title: Re: what blade length is ideal for someone 5'5" in height? Post by: Master Nero Attoru on March 16, 2018, 05:46:51 PM For the most part, 32" is a good size for most people. I use it from time to time, although being 6'2", I find it looks a little short in comparison (in pictures mostly). For you, I think it would be about perfect! Assuming 15" for the Reaper hilt and 30" of effective blade length (other 2" in the emitter), you'll have a 45" weapon. That falls perfectly in the range of an average longsword (which is 39-51" according to Wikipedia).

Post by: Dex_Meridian on March 16, 2018, 06:36:15 PM The easiest way to eyeball a good blade length for yourself is to just grab a broom handle or utility extension pole. By grabbing one that extends from 30 inches to 48 inches, and taking into account what your hilt length is going to be, you can get a feel for multiple lengths, though I haven't got a clue about variable weight/balance.
I felt a little dopey, but after a few swings and stances, I concluded that 32 inches worked great for me (I'm 5'8"), allowing for a 10-12 inch hilt. Any longer and it feels like I'm holding a flag pole, and shorter feels like a Hobbit-size sword. Title: Re: what blade length is ideal for someone 5'5" in height? Title: Re: what blade length is ideal for someone 5'5" in height? Post by: Racona Nova on March 16, 2018, 07:22:57 PM 32", definitely.
Title: Re: what blade length is ideal for someone 5'5" in height? Post by: Karmack on March 16, 2018, 07:51:56 PM I'd go with a 32". I'm 6'4" and I sometimes use the 32" because its very quick and in the Aeon V4 and Sentinel hilts its about perfect, especially in Heavy Grade.
My daughter is a bit shorter than you are at 5'2" and she LOVES the 32" length. We duel frequently, and I can attest (via bruises) to the effectiveness of this length blade. :-) Title: Re: what blade length is ideal for someone 5'5" in height? And when I say I'm getting a Reaper, I mean I HOPE I'm getting one, they said they'd get me one but didn't seem so keen Title: Re: what blade length is ideal for someone 5'5" in height? Post by: Asuan on March 17, 2018, 07:54:18 PM I'm 5'7" and I have the Dominix LE V4 hilt and an Aeon V4 hilt, they are long hilts I find often times the 32" blade hits the ground depending on what I am doing I have a 24 which while short does not hit the ground when I do things, I'll privet message you with a company that makes different blade sizes, I've ordered a 28" blade which I think would be perfect at my height.
Title: Re: what blade length is ideal for someone 5'5" in height? Post by: Racona Nova on March 17, 2018, 08:58:00 PM You can request different blade lengths in your order here as well. Just put your desired lenght in the Order Comments during check-out - after contacting US ([email protected] or [email protected]) about the extra charge they will take for that.
Title: Re: what blade length is ideal for someone 5'5" in height? Post by: MavRick on March 18, 2018, 01:48:25 AM If you get a Reaper I would get a 32 inch blade and a shorter pommel like the Overlord or Manticore low pommel. Which will be most helpful for your height and it will be much better for wielding, dueling and spinning. :)
Because if you plan on doing any spins at all with that saber I can tell you from personal exp that the claw on the stock pommel will NOT be good on your forearm! Title: Re: what blade length is ideal for someone 5'5" in height? Post by: Malik Thanewulf on March 18, 2018, 04:55:04 AM The 32 inch blade is probably going to be just about right. I used a mop handle to figure it out. Swing it around a bit till i found the right length. Hope this helps.
