Title: Can't remove a battery Post by: Dale on November 23, 2011, 03:26:57 AM I purchased the Obsidian board along with the Li-lon battery set up. I was in the process of pulling the batteries out to recharge them. I got one of the batteries out and went to get the second one out. It won't come out for anything :-\. If I try any harder I will end up breaking something. Any suggestions?

The sabers with Flash on Clash have the new Obsidian XT boards, which in turn only have one Li-Ion cell plus a dummy cell (which is suppposed to be there and cannot be recharged!). The dummy batteries have no writing. Also, the regular board has the usb port on the board while the XT has the usb port on seperate wire leading into the board.

If that doesn't work try going under the battery with a key (like TJ said) or a butter knife/flat head screw driver to pry it out.

Be careful with any prying attempts, the battery holders are not designed to withstand external pressures. They break easily because they were designed to hold batteries together, not protect them; that's usually the responsibility of the apparatus the case is in. That being said, you can depress the spring with a thin, flat object, such as a butter knife, and then the battery is usually a bit easier to free up. If you try that though, be sure to support the opposite side of the pressure, like a pinch, so that your not stressing the housing unit, just the spring. Copy? Without being too forcefull I used a flat head screw driver with no luck. It's in there with no slack what so ever. Even if I eventually got it out doing this repeatedly will tear it up. I contacted Ultrasabers so I should be hearing from them soon. I need this resolved before Christmas. :-[ |
