Title: Shaolin Lightsaber Staff
Post by: zetulaj on December 21, 2018, 01:47:36 AM
Got my first ultrasaber and brought it to class the next day. Shifu gave it a spin, looked really nice!

One thing we quickly realized was the quick release coupler is much too loose at that speed. It kept disengaging and once half the staff went flying across the room. Shifu had to really slow down to prevent that from happening.

We're considering doing a few pilot classes with lightsabers, Shaolin style, to see if the traditional movements can be worked in with these  ;D

Whoa. I’m a fan of the Shaolin style of martial arts so much respect!

Well, even 'slowed down' it looks impressive ;D
Thanks for sharing!

That’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen.

Yeah, that's awesome. If you're going to do that kind of stuff at those speeds, a solid coupler is definitely in order.

Agreed. I recommend the flush vented coupler

You can't go wrong with that coupler, in my opinion. It looks great, looks like it would be solid and won't add "chunkiness" to the hilts.

Agreed. I will no longer get the stunt coupler since it’s a pain to remove it from one saber and there’s no leverage. Vented flush coupler and above for me
