Title: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: ThreadJack on October 29, 2019, 01:20:37 AM So it seems when it comes to red bladed Sith sabers, black hilts are by far the popular choice. But what about the silver hilts? I kinda like the idea of a silver, or mostly silver hilt with a red blade. Anyone else? (And I'm not talking you bought a silver hilt and made it mostly black or half and half, I mean silver is the primary, visible color on the hilt.) Post pics if you want, I won't complain.
Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: Maestro Jones on October 29, 2019, 02:15:39 AM Here is my initiate from the last giveaway. It came with the blazing red. I like a red blade with a silver hilt. Who says silver hilts can't have a red blade? I seem to remember a few sith with a red blade and silver hilt.

Post by: Therion Jinn on October 29, 2019, 02:21:05 AM It can work. I just prefer a combination of the black and silver
Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: Zren Tobas on October 29, 2019, 02:38:50 AM Plus look at the Savior as well, mostly all silver hilt :P Plus before that came out I did get my Shock with a red blade at first. I still kinda wanna change that saber back to a red blade as well, and also look a Mauls/Menace saber
Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: Malik Thanewulf on October 29, 2019, 02:43:58 AM I hear you. I want a Standard Issue Battle Saber ( all silver) with BR blade and VA FOC! How sweet would that be.
Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: Sakura No Kaze on October 29, 2019, 03:08:46 AM I received a Liberator with a Red blade from a Grab Bag purchase. The only black I added to it was to swap it's pommel with a DSI pommel. Otherwise it's all silver. Looks good with a Red blade too.
Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: Darth_Ravn on October 29, 2019, 01:37:32 PM I bought 2 double blade sabers :
Phantasm initiate V2 LE, silver (and gold) hilt, with Blazing Red. 2 apprentices V5 LE, silver (and gold) hilt with blazing red too. I always wanted silver hilts with BR !!! and if I buy another one, it will be again silver hilt with BR :p (Mantis :p:p:p:p:p:p:p ) You can see them on my youtube channel ;) Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: ThreadJack on October 29, 2019, 03:23:05 PM There were lots of Sith characters in universe who wielded silver hilts, however I noticed the seem underrepresented in the hobby.
Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: PsychoSith on October 29, 2019, 03:40:39 PM Fun fact! Currently on my wishlist is a Lost Gray 24" in BR - wanted a shiny Sith shoto ;)
Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: Karmack on October 29, 2019, 05:01:50 PM I've seen a Guardian in red. It looked awesome. Also a Catalyst with some very light dark highlights added to the hilt (black o-rings in the hilt grooves) looked amazing.
Honestly, I have always liked a mix of light and dark colors on any hilt, whatever the blade color. The Bellicose, for example, makes a great red hilt. Just like how white or Jedi blades look good on black hilts, red blades also look good on silver or silver and black hilts. (https://i.imgur.com/ufE3DZq.jpg) Love it! Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: Cyclops942 on October 29, 2019, 06:25:15 PM Now, I want a silver hilt Sith saber. Like that took some arm-twisting... LOL Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: Infinit01 on October 29, 2019, 06:30:22 PM Like that took some arm-twisting... LOL Ouch ouch, Okay, okay. I'll get one ;) Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: ThreadJack on October 29, 2019, 10:49:47 PM I definitely want a Sith saber with a silver hilt. I really like the Aeon V4. Coincidentally my Dominix V4 LE is in Arctic Blue. :D
Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: chalion on October 30, 2019, 01:31:38 AM This is why I made the decision to buy as many of the hilts I liked with the Diamond controller. So far though, the hilts that I most attribute to the Darker side of the Force I got with RGB-A:
(Chosen One CE, Dark Graflex, Emperor’s Hand, Dark Monarch, Dark Sentinel LE v5, Dark Apprentice v5 and Dominix LE v3) but if i'm feeling contrary, i'll put a deep purple, orange, etc in the blade color. Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: ktulu1347 on October 30, 2019, 02:19:57 AM My Arbiter lives with a BR MLS unit installed and I haven't thought of changing that since I got it. All machined aluminum, no black to be found and it looks absolutely amazing. My Diamond Graflex looks pretty darn awesome set to BR as well, but that's definitely a more occasional thing when one is in just the right mood.
Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: Infinit01 on October 30, 2019, 02:54:33 PM I have just the hilt for a BR blade now

So far though, the hilts that I most attribute to the Darker side of the Force I got with RGB-A: As I understand it, the RGB-A configuration gets you a warmer color palette, because you get Red, Green, Blue, and Amber LEDs instead of getting Red, Green, Blue, and White (and white is actually a blue LED topped with a yellow-looking phosphor coating that will emit white light when the blue light from the LED hits it). In real-world usage, what impact/effect does this have on the blade colors you tend to use?(Chosen One CE, Dark Graflex, Emperor’s Hand, Dark Monarch, Dark Sentinel LE v5, Dark Apprentice v5 and Dominix LE v3) but if i'm feeling contrary, i'll put a deep purple, orange, etc in the blade color. Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. Post by: Infinit01 on October 30, 2019, 07:01:32 PM RGBA does give you better warmer colors while the RGBW is geared towards the cooler colors. Great to have both in my opinion

Great to have both in my opinion Yeah, that's the part I get, actually. I guess I should have worded my question better; sorry about that. Aside from the RGB-A making the warmer colors look better, and the RGB-W making the cooler colors look better, what other differences are there in real-world usage? Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade. In my filming, the RGB-A keeps pretty consistent in digital video/photos, maybe a little duller - the RGB-W tends to look more washed out/pastel-ly. With both, I do try to color edit a little, but RGB-W requires more editing. Title: Re: Silver hilt, red blade.
