Title: Recommendations: Long-Handled Lightsaber Options
Post by: AceofHats on November 05, 2019, 08:44:25 PM
I own the Aeon LE v2 saber. I'm looking for something a little more in the way of a Nodachi-styled lightsaber. In the SW Legacy comics, there's a Sith Minion named Darth Nihl who wields a "long-handled lightsaber". 1 blade only.

Suggestions and best options?

Right now the best long handle looks like the "Fallen", though another option is to pick up an extension.  Some folks have built some nice long-handled sabers using Yari extensions or for something in the 3.5 to 4 inch range there are some nice extensions on TCSS website.

I don't know if you can get the "grenade grip" section of the Arbiter saber from US but it also makes an EXCELLENT extension.

A third option would be to acquire a v2 staff coupler and an Initiate V2 to go with your Aeon, just put a blade plug in the Initiate instead of a blade for single-blade use.

There are many options.   :-)

I will send a link to TCSS via PM...

And for some idea of what that might look like...    An Initiate V4 LE with a TCSS extension:

Or a flush coupler plus small TCSS double-female adapter and Dark War Glaive pommel on an Initiate V3

did I mention I really like the Initiate v3 and v4?   :-)

Bellicose is kinda long, Bane for sure, Fallen, definitely the Arbiter, Savior is somewhat on the long side

Good gravy I've been window shopping all afternoon LOL. I like the idea of an extension for sure. The yari would be a nice touch. I've also been looking at the CSS website and they have some unique stuff. Ultimately, I'm kinda eyeing the Sentinel V4 as a base model.

Thank you for the replies.

The Sentinel is a great place to start.  Terrific hilt and easily modded.  Mine is stock but I love it!

I like the aeon v4, but without the windows.  This is a long handled saber that is a wicked spinner, as well as easily customizable.  I love the non windowed look because it makes it stand out from the rest, giving the emitter a unique look.  I have a aeon v4 stunt all black with BR blade from an US Mystery box and I love it!

The Arbiter is also a long handled saber and its easy to customize. I just did one, I have big hands and its easily a 2 handed hilt.

Aeon V3 is pretty long and a great "blank slate" saber.

I second this recommendation.  The V3 can easily be customized and is long enough to be two handed, as well has having excellent choke points for spinning.
