Title: Need Help on new saber. Post by: wasd999 on January 26, 2011, 10:09:21 PM I'm planning to build a custom saber for myself,
with the help of Ultra Sabers and TCSS. But I need help on the design, since my mind is blown away at the creations I saw on TCSS. Someone told me on thinking of a theme base on my personality, but still can't think of one. My personification would be, defensive yet subtly emotional. Dangerously hanging between a Jedi and Sith. Thanks to those who can help! :D Title: Re: Need Help on new saber. Asking someone to design a saber for you is fine, but if it's your own personal thing, it's a good idea for you to do it. If nothing else, draw a picture and one of us can formulate something with a render of some kind. Title: Re: Need Help on new saber. Post by: wasd999 on January 27, 2011, 04:15:42 PM Thank you Caine!
I was doodling at the builder from some ideas the TCSS members gave. (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c384/david_waves/SaberBuilder_render2.png) (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c384/david_waves/SaberBuilder_render.png) I liked both of the sabers with grips, I just can't make up my mind which one would it be! :P Title: Re: Need Help on new saber. Post by: zach skywalker on January 27, 2011, 06:06:15 PM Possibly some thing with a slanted emmiter. And a rubber grip. But its really up to you to decide.
Title: Re: Need Help on new saber. Post by: Manroon on January 27, 2011, 07:48:40 PM I'd say if you want grips, the one on the bottom is best. If not, then I like the one on the top. Just an X-Wing jock's two cents. :)
Title: Re: Need Help on new saber. Post by: ThreadJack on January 27, 2011, 08:03:19 PM I like the 3rd one with the slanted emitter, if you don't mind X-Wing jock #2's two cents. ;D
Title: Re: Need Help on new saber. Post by: wasd999 on January 27, 2011, 08:44:55 PM Thanks, and I do mind!
Because I'm also asking Ultra's advice on the matter, which I'm still in the process of knowing his. Here's an update to what I was about. Post by: zach skywalker on January 27, 2011, 09:22:55 PM Fourth one is very EPIC.
Title: Re: Need Help on new saber. Post by: Ultra on January 27, 2011, 09:33:29 PM They all look fine.
Title: Re: Need Help on new saber. Post by: Manroon on January 27, 2011, 09:37:48 PM X-Wing Jock #1 says the middle saber of the second set is most righteous. ;D
Title: Re: Need Help on new saber. Post by: wasd999 on January 27, 2011, 09:46:14 PM I felt the force guide my hand on this one. (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c384/david_waves/SaberBuilder_render5-1.png) Quote @Ultra: Thank you! @Everyone: These are the sabers you guys nominated. (http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c384/david_waves/SaberBuilder_render5.png) So now I got an idea from these two, I'll give my verdict later as which of these two will be my saber. Wish me luck, I not good at deciding though! ;D Title: Re: Need Help on new saber. Post by: Caine on January 28, 2011, 07:49:18 AM Regarding switch placement, you cannot place a switch in the thread part of the hilt. Some of your renders have the switch smack dab on the threaded parts.

Post by: Onli-Won Kanomi on January 28, 2011, 08:17:22 AM With the fourth one you could take out the windowed double male extension crystal chamber part replacing it with a single 3" double female extension [possibly the fluted one to match the rear grip] and get Strydur @ TCSS to custom machine windows in the choke for the crystal chamber...that would avoid the thread problems Caine identified.
