Title: Color and Blade Comparisons Post by: Valharok on February 24, 2012, 07:15:08 AM Hey everyone! First, I would just like to say a quick hello. This is my first post on the Saber Forum; but I have been reading it for a couple weeks now after ordering my Guardian. That said, she is a real beauty!
I have a couple good friends that have also bought Ultra Sabers and post on the forums every now and then themselves (Osmethae and Volust). Now, unfortunately Volust lives out of town so we couldn't do this comparison with his nice new Dark Violet Amethyst. :( We wanted to give you all a decent look at the difference between the blade types using the three core colors of the RGB spectrum. Now another unfortunate thing is, we don't have a standard Heavy-Grade blade to do this with. But using these pictures, hopefully you can get a good feel for what to expect if you are looking into one for yourself. Also note: We used the same lighting in each picture, to try and get a fair comparison. (And apologies for the not-so-great quality. This was just a camera phone after all.) To kick things off here is Osmethae's Bellicose in Blazing Red - MID-GRADE (http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r534/Valharok/BR_MG.jpg) ULTRA EDGE MID-GRADE (http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r534/Valharok/BR_UEMG.jpg) ULTRA EDGE HEAVY-GRADE (http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r534/Valharok/BR_UEHG.jpg) Now, Osmethae's Archon v2 in Consular Green - MID-GRADE (http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r534/Valharok/CG_MG.jpg) ULTRA EDGE MID-GRADE (http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r534/Valharok/CG_UEMG.jpg) ULTRA EDGE HEAVY-GRADE (http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r534/Valharok/CG_UEHG.jpg) And lastly, my Guardian in Guardian Blue - MID-GRADE (http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r534/Valharok/GB_MG.jpg) ULTRA EDGE MID-GRADE (http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r534/Valharok/GB_UEMG.jpg) ULTRA EDGE HEAVY-GRADE (http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/r534/Valharok/GB_UEHG.jpg) And there they are. We hope this helps anybody out who was wondering what the difference might be between the blades. Again, we wish we had a standard Heavy-Grade to use as well. If I might add something as well, I must compliment the whole team at Ultra Sabers for producing such amazing, affordable products. These picture in no way do justice to just how bright and vibrant these sabers are in real life. So cheers to all of you! Title: Re: Color and Blade Comparisons Post by: Master Nero Attoru on February 24, 2012, 12:45:15 PM Good stuff! Thanks for the comparison, and welcome!
Those are three fine sabers, and three of the best colors IMO. Seems like you three have a solid collection there. Title: Re: Color and Blade Comparisons Post by: Osmethae on February 24, 2012, 01:31:08 PM I have mid grades on all my lightsabers, and after seeing the ultra edge in person on Valharoks Guardian, I am without a doubt purchasing some ultra edge blades.
The way it makes the middle thicker is just amazing. Title: Re: Color and Blade Comparisons Post by: Volust on February 24, 2012, 02:13:20 PM Lovin' that Guardian in blue (as well as the Bellicose and Archon). Can't wait to see in person guys :3
Title: Re: Color and Blade Comparisons Post by: Ricktur on February 25, 2012, 05:21:27 AM man that ultraedge heavy grade just does not hold up color wise. . .
thanks for the thread, great pics! Title: Re: Color and Blade Comparisons Post by: Valharok on February 28, 2012, 02:45:19 AM These pictures just don't do the ultra edge heavy any justice. In person, you can hardly see any loss in color. So really if ultra edge is your thing and you want a heavy grade, definitely go for it.
Title: Re: Color and Blade Comparisons Post by: CZ3RO on February 28, 2012, 06:44:10 PM Sorry to be a little off topic, but I noticed you have the right sabers for a combo I've been dying to see.
Can you post of pic of your Guardian with the Archon pommel attached in this thread (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=3179.0)? Big thanks! Great blade colour pics too btw. :) |
