Good topic idea, this is something I was contemplating myself.  I did Grey Jedi last year, so I'll have to see what I should be this year... currently I don't really have any ideas at all.

I have been a holiday coordinator since the early 1990's and I can tell you one thing for sure...just saying you want advice is about useless.

How about saying what your budget is, your intent for use, what you have to work with already, themes you prefer or dislike, etc.

Just saying I need a costume...is an open ended statement that is nearly impossible to answer.

Don't know for sure what we're doing, but the GF is dressing up as Jesterina, cool scary-clown-girl, and I'm doing a Hannibal-Lecter-thing with black straitjacket, black bondage pants and muzzle-type mask. We both LOVE Halloween, and whatever we want to do, we gotta do it BIG.  :)

Go as the Human Version of the Falcon, and Dreaming can go as a human Enterprise. Darth Small can be a TIE Advance X1, for her Vader Fandom.

It potentially allows the use of lightsabers, it's creative, and has much potential for goofing around. I imagine it could be done fairly cheap as well. You could even make a cardboard dish to wear as a hat. lol

My local Imp has often been known to do halloween as a demon lawyer. It's a major hit with everyone. He has business cards. Be sure to coordinate if you go that route though. I mean, if the pinstripes don't match the horns, it just doesn't work.  :D
