I was just cruising around on You Tube, looking for a good example of a U.S. 2.1 board's sound, seeing as I bought one off a guy on ebay, and I am planning on putting it in a saber I am constructing with a Gold Blade.  Anyway, I found this video for a Overlord with a Ultra Sound 2.1, and just fell in Love with the Overlord  :-* lol.  I came into the saber world truly a couple of years ago, but I wasn't keen to the entire industry as a whole by the time these sabers were no longer produced by Ultra.  So I would LOVE to see a resurgence of these sabers, I know they would sell like Hotcakes just like I'm sure they did back then.  Also another side note I would point out, is that they would be another ideal saber for the mobile MLS untis you guys are selling now  :D .  Just a surf screaming at the castle here, but I bet I'm not the only one would would love to see this happen  ;) .

There is a history with the Overlord, and it is not for me to speak of it. If you do your research, you will find out all about it, my friend.

By the way, I can't speak for anyone but myself when I say that I'm happy US is coming out with new and exciting models. Don't worry. Ultra is a business savvy person and he always seems to have an ace up his sleeve. If he wants to bring forth any 2.0's, he will. The one you asked about though......  :-\

I will go see what I can find out regarding the Overlord, I am slightly perplexed at what the issue could have been  ??? but the whole situation was long before my time, so I will meditate on this, and allow the Force to show me what has happened long ago.

smokie is right just sit back and watch ultra pump out the sabers! :) future forum members will be yearning for the sabers we currently have now, its the cycle of things also ultra did say the overlord model was officially retired in the past so a 2.0 is most likely not going to happen  :(

Alot of yall have been with me for a long time and know the Overlord saga. I retired the Overlord after the debacle on the old forum. Perhaps the new forums deserve a new Overlord with a few changes?  A run that will be smooth and drama free?

But would this upset some of you?  I dont know, so tell me your thoughts.

A third Hell Yeah!! ;D This would be a dream come true for me, Whatever Ultra decides Im behind him 100%. He runs a business like a business should be ran and thats why one day Ill own over 100 ULTRA SABERS  and no other, he has my complete respect as a person and business man.

 Although I just did a search for the Overlords history and noticed..."issues" .  I would assume that everything is good now. I think this design looks pretty sharp and would probably do well with another go around.   That is unless the wounds are too deep.... but of course scars give you character.   ;D

i would love to get an overlord if you make more! i missed out on the first couple of runs  when you first introduced the model and i don't want to miss out on this one :) so a big YES

i haven't been around long enough to know about it, but i will say it's a very sweet lookin saber. i think it would have a lot of potential for a great v2

I'll just give yall the low-down on the last Overlord run instead of beating around the bush:

The FX-Sabers forum community wanted another run of Overlords, but this time, it was going to be a community project.  Design, funds, blades, and electronics came from me, machining was done by another forum member, and assembly was done by two other forum members.  Everyone involved was a highly esteemed individual with years of history in the community.

Everyone did what they were supposed to do except one of the people entrusted with assembly.  He basically went awol and vanished with hilts, electronics, and money.  It took months to track him down and we didn't get back even half the parts.  Of course, Ultra Sabers stood behind the project, so I had to compensate for all the stolen parts out of my pocket alone.  No one else involved with the project had to bear any of that burden.  Everyone either got their saber or got a refund.  I did the best I could to make things right.  But that wasn't enough.

Many of the people who didn't get a saber (and got a refund instead) turned on me quite viciously.  People who were supposedly my friends declared they would never buy another Ultra Sabers product again, even though the Overlord run was not a normal Ultra Sabers product.

The only person to lose money on that project was me, but I lost alot more than that.  I never imagined there could be so much betrayal and friends lost over a $142 saber and the experience caused me to retire the Overlord indefinitely and withdraw quite a bit from the FX-Sabers community.

On a side note, I'm very pleased that the community on Saber Forum is shaping up to be such a friendly and welcoming group of people.  This isn't a community filled with pessimists or butt kissers, and some of you certainly are hard to please sometimes (you know who you are  ;) ) but overall, it seems everyone's intentions are honest, and yall approach me in good faith wanting only from me what you are entitled and nothing more.  Frankly, that kind of attitude only makes me want to give more and more to this community.  More rewards, more discounts, more contests, more random giveaways, etc.  Maybe an Overlord run could also be a good way to show my appreciation...

Alright, lets brain storm this:  If I do another run of Overlords, the design should be a little different to distinguish it from the earlier runs, while retaining the styling that defines an Overlord.  I have a few changes to the emitter and pommel in mind that I think will make the saber more appealing.  All the work should be done in-house like our other sabers so you'll get the same quality, price, and shipping times that you have come to expect from Ultra Sabers.

I could work up some renderings in Solidworks and show yall what I have in mind.  Keep in mind, though, this isnt a project I could tackle immediately.  I have a bunch of other stuff already in the works that will have to come first.  I may be able to have these available by Christmas, but let's not count chickens quite yet.

Ultra I'm still fairly new to the saber world and what I've seen on this forum from you has blown away any other maker I've seen so far. And the fact that you care this much about your customers is awesome. I am a proud owner of an ultrasaber and forever look forward to adding to my collection and will be more than pleased to start saving till christmas time for an overlord remastering:) I look forward to the new design!

YES that would be awesome! make a couple of renders ultra and let us vote on the best one so we all kindof have a say in the new overlords design   :) sheesh maybe having them ready by christmas! man ultra you spoil us i would be expecting more like next summer  :)

I have an idea Ultra. How about a reverse version of the Overlord? Silver hilt with black accents, instead of black hilt with silver accents? I think it'd look pretty cool.

i will definatly say the best part about US is the community here. everyone here is friendly and welcomes everyone with open arms, and i think thats the coolest part about ultrasabers. the products are great, but anyone can make a saber as long as they're willing to put the time into it (they wouldn't be able to touch the quality of US though  ;)) but it takes alot more to care about the people on the recieving end of it.

great idea raze  :) , though i would still prefer a black over lord  a light side one would be sweet! similar to how ultra offer the oppressor in a light side version as the redemption.

Ultra, one thing I could say about Saberforum is that this is one of the most open and friendliest forums I've seen. And this forum is much easier to grow into also, compared to Fx-sabers, where it takes some time to fit in. One literally jumps into this forum and already feels comfortable on impact.

Well Ultra I think you should make this Overlord V2 MHS compatible emitter and pommel, that would be cool, and also keep the windowed emitter that rocks but I cant wait to see those renders. You should start a poll maybe and get a vote going to see which one is favored among us.

I am absolutely IN FAVOR of Keeping the Illuminated Crystal Chamber from the first Overlord (as Ryuyee suggested), and I am Absolutely For Illuminated Anti Vandal Switches being incorporated into the new Overlord as well  :D .

When the last run of Overlords [zips lips on that] was being planned there was originally to be an alternative "chromed" version option which was eventually decided against in favour of them being offered as only the original anodized black 'Tuxedo of sabers' Overlord.

More recently Ultrasabers has offered several designs in a nickel-plated finish so a Overlord v2 in a nickel-plated version option would be  8)

Regardless of whatever awesome design Ultra comes up with, I think he should advertise a sale saying "As always, free assembly on all Overlords!" as a jab/inside joke  reference to the original issue.  Of course, the price could be whatever he wanted - I just think it would be funny to advertize free assembly - or maybe leave off the blade, pommel, and emitter and take $1 off for an assemble it yourself sale.   ;D

I agree with him, this is my first forum and I'm sure that it will be the best I am ever a user on. Also, I know that people want to see a CE overlord perhaps? And, whoever that thief was, He/She is LOW to take advantage of your trust and niceness.

I am torn between the two Awesome Looks  :-\ ............  I can't decide if I would rather see the Overlord V2 run in the classic anodized black, or to flip it like Ultra has done with the Redemption as compared to the Overlord  :-\................

Being the Sith that I am  ;D , My Gut Says Keep it Black, but having owned both the Overlord and the Redemption, I have to say that I prefer the look of the Redemption By Leaps and Bounds!!!  :D  Not that the Overlord was an ugly saber by any means, there's just something about the Redemption  ;)

Whatever you decide is best Ultra, I Trust in Your Greater Wisdom on this matter.

The only thing I ever offered chromed or polished on the Overlord was the emitter, pommel, and rings.  The main body was still black and I don't plan to change that.  I would like to either offer nickel plated emitters and pommels, or just have them come standard that way.  I'll have to see how that effects pricing.

To be honest, I'd rather see US just move forward instead of bringing the overlord back officially.  Nothing against that saber - it is definitely cool!  Really, I just am so impressed by all of the more recent sabers I want to see where that leads.  I'm sure there are other windowed emitters in the future and the last couple saber designs have been kind to us darksiders.

All in all though, it's Ultra's call - he may have a few tricks up his sleeve for the re-work too that I'm not taking into account, and that was/is a pretty badass saber!

i think some brass or some copper accents would look sweet on it. maybe some brass sleeve accenting the grooved section closer to the emmitter. imagining something qui gon-esque, which would also fill that gap people have been looking to fill with the lack of an easily accessable qui-gon saber. although price would have to be considered with all that too.

The Overlord was, indeed, a beautiful saber.

If it came back, I wouldn't object but rather be proud that it survived its past. That makes it somewhat a legend. Just an idea, but what if you make the LED and the emitter into one piece with disconnects, and accompany it with a differently designed one?

I'm new to this and all, but just from looking at it, The Overlord is a beautiful saber and would love to have one were I to have the money ^_^;; I think bringing it back with an epic spin on it would be awesome.

Ultra, Just got back into the Saber life after a little hiatus and thought i would weigh in on this topic. My first blade was an original run Overlord. I made my choice after surfing the saber community for a while looking for a quality saber that stood out from the crowd and paid homage to the originals. In my mind, the Overlord was this and more. It is still my favorite blade and when others see it they always ask if the saber is still available.

I watched the frenzy unfold around the the later run of the Overlord and this led to me checking out of the saber community for a while, could not stand the bickering and such. I'm glad to have returned and I am waiting for the delivery of my new Counsular, should be here Friday! I personally would love to see this saber come back in some form. It's an awesome saber, an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.

I am new to US. Only found  it about a week ago. It hurts me to see people treated that way. I don't see what the big deal would have been. If it happened to me, yes I would be upset that I didn't get what I ordered, but I lost nothing. I would be given a refund, and the money would end up going right back into US for a different saber. As I said, I am very new here, but feel welcomed by the community. After seeing the wide variety of sabers to choose from, and seeing all of the very high marks people have given them, I ordered a Quick-ship Phantom V2 staff with a 32" Ultra Edge Heavy Grade blade in Blazing Red. It is scheduled to get here Friday the 24th and I am dying with anticipation. I will post a review and pics when it gets here (if I can put it down long enough to get on my computer, that is).

As for the Overlord(if you're still up for doing it Ultra) I have an idea that I think is great. Now I know this is asking a lot, but maybe Nova could make a sound font that's exclusive to the Overlord? One not available in the Obsidian store, but only comes pre-loaded on an Overlord?
