Orange is a beautiful and often over looked color. Full of mystery, it can be the color of a jedi's peacekeeper, or the weapon of those who seek destruction. It is often associated with danger or amusement.  Let's amuse ourselves with pictures of your sabers featuring Fire and Pyrestone Orange.

Love my Pyrestone Aron. I thought I had some cool pictures to share, but apparently not. Will take some in the next couple of days.

Here is my custom orange. Normal orange and Chrome Orange Lee Filters. =] Makes a really cool and unique orange when combined. Standard Heavy Grade blade by the way. I think this will be my color for my Sith outfit when its all done and such.

The next saber I get will be PO. And I think the next after that will be one of the purples, I'm not sure which. I love Orange and Purple together.

Those are great Darth Phobius!!! I also made a long saber and I also called it a Lightlance or Brightlance (but I didnt want to rip off Warhammer 40k) Mine was in SY but that looks awsome in FO!!

So as it turns out I dont have any great photos of my FO saber but that will change soon for now here is a picture of me holding my FO saber in the forward hand and my SY  in the rear. The FO blade has an old Lux 3 LED so its not all that bright.

The PO/with FO FoC has a noticeable flicker when FoC is active, but it's not a significant difference.
That is a MHS Emitter style 24 from another website.

I really like this, how long did it take to customize?

Im gunna have to post a new pic of Inferno soon, I just got a new pommel and a new MG blade!

AC, it took a little while about 8-10 hours total. I used my dremel to carve it and I torched it to get the natural aged look. I was going for an animal antler look but every one else says it looks like a tree branch, so I guess its a tree branch!

Well, since there seems to be someone else liking FO, here's my newly arrived Overlord, my second saber actually (after a grab bag tryout a few months ago), the first with sound ;)
I'm very happy with my choice ;)  just need to find some suitable customization and it will look great on my shelf... and during a fight with my nephew ;)

I wanted everyone's opinion on this

basically, I'm wanting a "gold" blade.  So I have a question, is FO a good choice for this?  I know it used to have the LUX3 amber LED, which I have a couple of those, and that's really the color I'm going for now, just with FOC and such lol

I just want a happy Amber color.  If I was custom ordering the LED from LEDEngin or Luxeon, they'd be Amber diodes with a white flash on clash lol.  I also enjoy the concept of not having to wire it up myself and still enjoy it.

Oh how I love PO. The picture down below showing the initiate staff looks amazing. I'm sure that's not a totally accurate color representation but wow, does it look good. From that picture it looks almost like a "cool" Orange, if that makes sense.

My son just got his first saber, a dark initiate v2 LE in FO! I gotta say the v2 is pretty cool! And the FO is really cool too, all though I think if I get an orange saber I may go with PO. Any who here's the pics!

Grey Jedi or Jedi

I consider it to be both light or dark, more on the darker side, or defiant light side, much like Qui Gon Jinn. I think its perfect for Grey Jedi.

I would agree with grey or light, at least as far as fire orange goes.  It's a great color, but it's not as bright or intimidating as a typical red Sith saber.  From pictures, I would lean more towards Sith on PO.

I think JMPleguis has one... I could be wrong. When I was younger I had a toy Hasbro saber with an orange blade and I took that blade out and put it in my Hasbro obi wan ep 1 saber. It was awesome! Now I just need to get the real thing from US!

I would say Fire Orange is Jedi, Pyrestone is Sith.

Now that I know about Pyrestone, I'll more than likely get that as my next saber color.

Love the saber (and the ghostbusters poster). As an owner of a PO saber, I would highly recommend it. Its the perfect balance between the red and FO.

Thanks! And yeah, that's just a tiny portion of my Ghostbusters wall. When I'm not dabbling in various other fandoms, I'm a member of a local Ghostbusters fan group raising money for charities and doing various appearances. Once I get my Sith gear together, it'll be a nice break from 40lb proton packs and flightsuits.

Hey how does Fire Orange look in a standard Mid blade? I'm having other ideas still.

FO looks best in Mid grade IMO, I've tried it in an Ultra Edge, and its too dim. Although I really don't like UE in any color.

I have heard that colors like BR, FO and SY look better in standard mid-grade.  PO might be another one but I'm not sure.  I have a Scorpion in FO, and while not the brightest color out there, it is a very nice and unique color. 

My FO is Ultra Edge Heavy Grade. It isn't blinding in person, but it's clearly visible in a fully lit room and daylight and photographs extremely well.

I also think in my case, my issue is that I have the old 3 watt luxeon FO LED in my saber. From what I understand the new LED's are much brighter so then the new FO LED's might look better in UE than mine.

Cool. If anyone is on the Ultra Sabers fan page on Facebook I did a poll on some sabers I'm considering. Fire orange might be another color too but either that either saber will be in Blazing Red. I need a new Sith blade.

Lol Jammo. Nice. Lets see some newer Fire Orange blades. I'd probably get it with either a standard Mid or Heavy blade anyway same with any other color. Probably end up doing a big batch order of standard Heavy blades in the future for all my sabers. I like them way better.

I have to agree too, the Mid grades look better,  I'm just not a fan of UE.

I think I will just do an Aeon V2 LE saber in Fire Orange with a standard Heavy blade. Could someone post a recent Fire Orange in a stunt set up if anyone has one? Might as well get me an Aeon V2 LE while I still can. I more prefer the V2 hilts anyway. Perfect size for my hands. I'll get a V3 or a higher end saber eventually. I know that saber will get a lot of attention when I get it. =]

Like I would love to see a full blade shot if anyone has one in a standard Heavy blade. I know Ultra Edge isn't the way to go for orange.

Fire Orange is growing on me more and more. Glad I decided standard Heavy blade because I hear the color looks terrible in Ultra Edge.

I think Pyrostone Orange look better in Ultra Edge, I keep a UE blade on my PO Scorpion. *prepare to dodge rotten fruit* :P

I'm getting mine with a standard Heavy blade. Don't really like Ultra Edge much anymore but only on certain colors.

Mine are both the mid grade blade. I would like to see what the pyrestone orange looks like in UE.

I'd still like to see a full blade shot of Fire Orange in a standard Heavy blade. Some of these pictures don't really give me an idea of what the color would be like.

I got my very first ultrasaber arrive at my door today and it took a grand total of 4 days to get from the US to the UK...A lot faster than some of my amazon UK orders so I'm very impressed with this company!

Pyrestone orange was my colour of choice and it looks amazing I have a normal heavy blade as i will be dueling with it. :)

I tend to think of FO as a Jedi color and PO as a Sith color, just me though. ;)

That's how I see them too. FO just seems lighter than PO, but I also see FO as toeing the line between light and dark.

I think FO is my favorite color so far, barely beating out SRD, I also love the Dark Liberator hilt, wish I hadn't put a charging port in it though

Nice. That orange blade looks good. Don't know why I keep staying away from the color.

Well it falls out every now and again, gonna super glue it or something, and it messes with the smooth aesthetic and feel when you use it

As an aside I really love orange because it is the medium or balance between the light side and dark side and also is a color of change, so for me it is representative of who I was, who I am, and what I could become in either direction, a reminder to keep myself on the path to light. I think it really is my defining color.

Unless you count gray, also a favorite of mine

This is my custom saber that I have named Lure of the Deep. It has 2 dark War Glaive claws and two custom plates. Carbon fiber wrap. Archon Body, War Glaive pommel and emitter. Silver AV switch with Obsidian and emerald. Also has a custom quartz crystal bladeplug.

It is not as red as this.  I would say comparing the two.

PO is a true orange with more red than yellow

FO is more of a light orange / dark straw like color with more yellow than red

I have to say though your PO looks a lot more like FO

Can't wait to see them. I have an old FO from back when the sabers were made of PVC. They used a 3 watt LED back then. I haven't seen the modern FO, but yeah, I had a feeling my PO was closer to FO. Though turning it on today, it did look redder than I remember. My old FO is a good deal more yellow than my Archon.

Sounds like a nice combo. I generally go for a lighter color flash on clash, maybe silver or yellow, but I think you can only do silver for FO.

Couldn't help myself. After seeing all of these awesome looking FO blades, I thought I'd change the sound to give my Bellicose a meaner and nastier sound. I uploaded the Darkstar SF with a combination of some of the Dooku clashes, lightning, and motion sounds. It sounds amazing and fits the FO theme perfectly.

I just need to chance it with FO at least once. :P How does FO look in a stunt set up? I know some colors can look different in different set ups. Its why I always wondered about this.

I have FO in UEHG and I like it cause it looks more movie like with the white but in a standard blade it is a lot brighter.

My newest two sabers arrived! I bought a Shock in Fire Orange for a custom job I'm working on, and I got a grab bag, asking for a random forum colour. To my delight, I got a Pyrestone Orange Dominix LE v3! I've really wanted a PO saber, because its always described as a darker, richer Orange, and IMO its a lot nicer than FO. :D

I have been very impressed by  how deep the FO orange is.

Yeah, I paid $10 for a random forum color when I ordered a grab bag.  I got an Aeon v3 in PO, although the color mixing is much lighter than usual for PO, it looks more like FO.  Good memory you have there 97!

I didn't know you could do that.  I might have to give it a shot next time I get a grab bag.

Thoughts on Fire Orange even on a standard stunt set up? Still kinda iffy about it but Fire Orange is slowly growing on me. I might like the color over time. I know to get Fire Orange with either clear blades though and not Ultra Edge.

I quite like my FO saber with the standard setup. I'll give it a look-see with standard mid grade, haven't done that yet cause my DSI is without batteries at the moment.

Orange looks like it has a gold tint to it.

I decided to change the color on my custom dsi, Infiltrator. From SY to pyrestone orange. I don't know why ididnt do this sooner it looks so much better on this saber verry mennacing. It could be a dark or rouge jedi or even a stih saber but I think I'll go with rouge jedi that actavely hunts sith. Any way here is the pic.

Those mods to the hilt look awesome.  What did you use for the shrouds and grip parts?

The grips are wire hanger. The actavation box and strips are pvc. The shroud is cromed brass sink tube that I stripped the crome off of.

No the latching switches have 8 poles and kind of pain to wire its easyer to wire up a momentary to latching converter

I didn't get it at first either, but I think it's nickel plated.

NP is short for Nickle Plated I am guessing. And in the picture you can see where the plating has flaked a bit near the switch. Likely when the switch got installed it was scratched a bit that caused the flaking, either that or the plating didn't cover the hole very well and cracked on its own.

Nickle plated? I guess that sounds right why didn't he say CE cus that's what its listed as. And I couldn't see much In The pic it was a bit dark. Any way nice saber for sure even if I don't care for the nickel plated versions my self.

All of you are correct. I saw people saying NP here and there, so I just kinda figured it was a known abbreviation. I'm slightly disappointed about the flaking around the switch but it's not a big deal for now.

He did say CE, but the CE listing has both nickel plated and high polish silver as options. 
I hadn't seen NP used until the Manticore CE came out though so I didn't know what it meant either. 

I like sabers that have nickel plated parts, but with a saber that is all nickel plated you are going to have to wear gloves to wield it.  Seems to pick up the fingerprints really good.  I bet it looks great in person though.

My bad on the abbreviation then, in aviation there's thousands of abbreviations so when I see one I just start using it. I posted a good picture of the handle in my review, I've posted several pictures of my sabers today so I feel like posting anymore would be borderline spamming lol.

Don't worry about it.  It makes sense, I just didn't get it right away.

That's what I did, I used a stone gray rustolium paint with a misting of an oil rubbed bronze

I might as well add my brother's re built dark catilyst to the outcasts before  I have to send it back to him.
Its been set up with a pyrestone orange / silver foc. The accent led flashes with the foc, I've done a lot of weathering and added a new wrap , a black anodized orange illuminated av switch and changed out the covertech knob with the d-ring.

I call this one - The Larfleeze Saber!  No, really, it's my (Mine, mine, mine, mine!) stunt Dark Prophecy RGBA  Emerald saber.  The color combination is, of course, Red - 255 and Amber - 255.  Oh, and if you do not know who Larfleeze is, he is the DC comics' Orange Lantern of the Green Lantern mythos.  And, he's kinda awesome!

^^^What blade is that? Looks Ultra Edge to me. I had a feeling Fire Orange looked good in Ultra Edge blade. Plus things are different now so Fire Orange probably looks better in Ultra Edge blades. Nice staff by the way. =]

Its actually just a mid grade blade. I's swapped them out to try the ultraedge and they look pretty good too.

Those FO blades look like they have UE blades. If they do how they lookin now days?

I actually went with mid-grade because I heard that the Oranges show up better on it than the UE.

GUYS, I need your councils knowledge and advice! I'm hopefully ordering my second saber in February BUT I can't decide if I should go with PO or BR. I really like the PO but I don't really want an orange blade, just a "warmer" red. As Sithy as possible.
I know some of the forum colors are made using resistors on the LEDs, is it the same with PO? In that case, could I ask US to tweak it to as red as possible without being a regular BR?

Would it be rude to suggest AS? and use lees filters?

Hi Yiggy.  I think you will be pleased with the BR over the PO even though orange rocks.  Especially if getting sound as well.  If you want a warmer red, then a UE blade will give you a more warmer pastel effect than the neon tubing of the regular blade.  You may be able to ask US to tweak the color blend more towards the red.  Don't know off hand if red is a one color or a combo.  Either way, the red you get will be awesome and does change a bit depending upon the charge left in the batteries.  If have Li-ion and buck puck, then no problem.   Filters to alter the color shade won't work on red.  Honestly, red is my favorite less favorite color.  Am finding out that I most prefer a purple or yellow blade.  Have a joyous and safe xmas.  Fa la la la la and support your local reindeer.   ;D

Hey Dauntless! My friend has got a BR in UE and it does look warmer! Not very fond of the pastel tho. Yeah, I guess I could send US an email. But now I got to think of Emerald, that would be the total optimal way to go... More expensive, of course, but with the 10%-off deal I think it's ok.

I'd suggest looking into the costs of a 2Ch Emerald saber, say R+G which would give you all reds, oranges, yellows and of course green to mix to perfection.  Gives you the emerald but saves a bit vs getting a 4Ch. 

I would bet on some boxing day or new years sales coming up, but I understand that may not be timely with your finances.

I would also say that late January to mid February US MIGHT(?) hold another raffle.  So if it would be important to you to enter, and you have finances in place, you may want to wait for that instead of a % off promotion around the same time.  LOTS of guys have regretted buying during a promotion just before a raffle runs because they loose the chance to participate.  Just some food for thought there.

Here are my contributions to The Orange Outcasts:  Overlord in Fire Orange, Graflex (Emerald) in Pyrestone Orange, and Archon (Emerald) in orange produced with equal parts Red and Amber.  Unfortunately my camera does not do well at distinguishing the subtle differences between these colors.  If you look at the reflected light, you will see that the Fire Orange is more yellow than the other two.  The Pyrestone Orange (Emerald: Red 255 Green 36) is almost virtually identical to the Red/Amber Orange (Emerald: Red 255 Amber 255).  I am also surprised that the list of Emerald LED Driver Settings doesn't include any settings using the Amber LED channel.

Does Fire Orange look better with Mid Grade or Ultraedge?

I have always felt that Orange looks best in MG. It is my opinion. I have always recommended when one is not sure, purchase the MG first and add blades to your collection as money allows.

Hey folks ! I have questions for ya'll. I have a FO v2 stunt, I love the color but it just seems so humble in brightness. Do the newer stunts all come with the 4x AAA set up ? because my v2 came with 2xaaa. Also is there a chance to see the difference between standard and the  li-ion set up in FO please ?

Fire orange is not the brightest color to begin with, but I also had a V2 stunt in FO and it paled in comparison to my FO Scorpion with sound.  I can't do a comparison though because I just recently gutted that saber so the wiring is all cut up.  But in answer to your first question, yes the current stunt sabers come with a 4 AAA setup.

Hi.  Is your v2 a grab bag?  All my v2's including the RGB use x4 AAA batteries.  Would appreciate seeing a photo of that battery pack.  The blade makes a difference and as previously said, looks much brighter with MG blade versus the milky look of the UE.  Also standard instead of a HG blade.  :)

It's probably an older version.  I picked up a Dominix V2 on ebay last year and it only had a 2 AAA setup.  All the grab bags or stunt sabers I have gotten direct from US over the last couple of years have had 4 AAA packs.     

the saber was a gift, I don't have it on hand, but I bought it 2 years ago. that and my blazing red came with a 2xaaa pack.(shown here) the FO was in a MG. I'm looking for the only pic of it when i first got it, I'll post it when I find.

I remember when Blazing Red ran off 2 AAA batteries. Now a stunt set up runs off 4 and is much brighter now I think :P Wonder if Fire Orange in a stunt set up is as bright like that now too. Don't know why I keep swaying from that color for...

Well, with this new info under my arm, I'm going to be ordering another stunt with FO. I hope the 2 extra batteries help this wonderful warm color.

I had to file down the screw to get it to fit and had to shorten it a good bit. I sanded the speaker some, though not well as it still gets stuck. The Leather I bought off of Amazon.

And @Chainmale, when you do get a Fire Orange blade let me know how it is in person and do a test in an Ultra Edge Heavy Grade blade too =]

I will, but I don't have a UEHG. I have a HG clear blade that I don't use much because to me it gives a light in a tube effect, more so than a mid grade.

I use a regular Heavy Grade blade on My Arctic Blue Overlord and actually prefer it. It works for some colors and other colors I prefer UEHG

Nice equipment Roband. I need to get some of that for myself. Would you mind sharing the type of gloves you have, and where to get a pair?

The chest, back and shoulder protectors are Youth Hockey equipment I got from Canadian tire on clearance at $19, ( I later got a second set from the Salvation Army thriftstore or $5

The Gloves are Street Hockey Gloves ($20 regular price at Canadian Tire as well... Much cheaper than Ice Hockey or Lacrosse gloves for 90% of the protection.

Also wearing a Hockey youth neck protector was about $5

The longer under piece on my torso and back is my Motorcycle back protector (Icon Motorsports) a little more pricey at $99 but ive been riding with it for about 6 years so it was an existing piece in my closet.

The arm guards are motorcycle pieces as well (Icon Motorsports Stryker elbowpads) and ran me about $45 when I bought them for riding as well (another existing piece in my closet)

I still need to get a HEMA approved helmet, but I have trained with an old hockey helmet on ocassion, depends on your school whether a hockey lid will fly or not.

Seems like it would be a great compliment to a BR main hand saber, though I FORGOT (like an idiot) to add a v2 coupler to my order, waiting on the actual confirmation to come so I can send Emory the order number and see if he can add the coupler to my order!!! Otherwise.....ugh, dont want to pay $18 shipping for a $9 part!

New hand crafted saber... Using Ultra guts... Pyrestone Orange. The hilt wrap is only temporary, I intend to do a more permanant wrap and darken the bare PVC areas. This is the first of a two part series. I can't wait to finish it, it will be pretty epic....

Hi BM_HAVOK.  Agree with everything Hazard has said.  Really like the Archon pommel swap out as well.  +1 for sure.   8)

Finally finished weathering my copper Manticore. I ordered it with SY, but was never satisfied with the way the LED projected a strong green at the base of the blade. So I used Lee filters to both shift the blade color and diffuse the light to be more even. I can tint the blade a nice bright, almost margarita-colored green, a brilliant red, or two shades of orange. I keep coming back to the brighter of the two oranges, though, and it's pictured here. It's also the orange I haven't come up with a name for; it's probably pretty close to Fire Orange. The darker orange I call "lava orange," as it's a really deep but still vivid color. Anyway, the blade in the dark and the blade and hilt in the light.

Much appreciated Haz...Ive been working on a medieval gray jedi (possible sith) costume and haven't completed it yet.  I will try to get a photo with what I have and post it soon.  I think it would go great with the Archon and the Guardian (when I switch the color to AS).

Just a standard HG blade.  Im going to get a few UEHG blades in my next purchase so I can wee what all the fuss is about

UE blades are vibrant with some colors, and with others they look like a fluorescent tube.  And I really enjoy the "core" blade look with midgrade, where a few colors feel a bit dull with it.  It's worth having both blade types so the variety will be fun to play with.

Haz, it's like you read my mind! I am seriously considering a Consular in Tri-Cree FO with an amber AV switch in black! +1 for being on the same wavelength  ;)

It's funny I've seen that our wave length has been the same a few times before Sedsti ... dun dun DUNNNNNN! ... lol!  For real though!  This one happens to be set to 100% Amber with an orange AV 8)  I do REALLY like the amber/yellow AV though - gorgeous.

Planning to get Dark Standard Issue(Vertical Grooves, Silver AV Switch) in either FO or PO for my first saber.  Which should I get if I opt for an Ultraedge Midgrade blade?  I love the look of orange blade after having used one with one of my characters on SWTOR.  Not quite Sith, but not your typical Jedi color either, though Sentinels will sometimes use them.

Think of FO as the color of orange juice and PO as the color of orange soda. The color is more true in a standard blade, but I don't like the light in a clear tube look, so I go with UE blades. I greatly prefer PO over FO in those.

Thanks.  I prefer a richer color orange, and definitely am planning to go Ultraedge because I don't like how the tip abruptly cuts off in the standard midgrades.  I can't remember where, but somewhere or another I picked up an orange crystal for one of my Star Wars The Old Republic characters and got to thinking how great that would look in real life.  Of course, it also doesn't hurt that this saber will be for a Halloween costume(going to a Halloween event at the end of September), so colors of the season in addition.  I will definitely try and remember to post my saber when I get it over the next month or two.

Is Pyrestone Orange reall that pretty of a color? Thinking of getting one on a Dark Catalyst but still kinda nervous about it but not as nervous as regular Fire Orange :P I want me something different. Something else will also be going along with my initial saber buy so ;o Can I get a really good picture of the Pyrestone Orange sometime? Full blade shot and kind of close up then at the base emitter?

So I went a little nuts last night and decided to test my soldering skills on my mystery box sabers. I ended up taking my FO LED out of my Reaper  :o and put it into my Dark Sentinel instead (and rewiring the Reaper with AB). Now, I also received an Aeon v4 in FO as part of a mystery box (which I wasn't that thrilled with, but am now), and had the bright idea of making them into a staff.

Thanks Dutchman.  Its in the number three spot in my saber collection. I still think I need to get a V2.1 Emitter so I can duel with it, although the more I see the Menace emitter Im contemplating that one instead.

There seems to be a lot of people saying on other threads that UE blades wash out the colour of FO, but having just got mine in UEMG and then trying it out with my daughters MG blade I'm of the opinion the UE is the only choice.  It just makes it look that much fuller when lit, and if there is any lightening or whitening of the blade it's very minimal.

Thanks.  Like all things, it's a personal thing really.  I prefer the fuller blade with a lighter core so I think it looks fine.  TBH I didn't see much wrong with the MG blade until I got an UE one myself, and now I don't think I'll go back to them for any except to get one in HG (got to have one of everything, for reasons).   I've also got a few sabers from the other guys as well and I'd say the USUE is very close to the SFMG blade when lit.

Nice.  I did consider mine in Dark but I already have a few black hilts, and after seeing the LE with the gold lines it gave me an excuse to match it with FO.

It is time that I joined the orange outcasts.  I started with purple/amethyst sabers, got a green one, then another, for my girlfriend, and have started to shift toward some more fiery colors.

My avatar pic is me with a Tri-Cree fire orange UEMG blade. I didn't know about pyrestone orange. I wish I had. Is that Renegade and Reaper Tri-Cree? Also what grade blades are they? The both look great.

Neither are Tri-cree.  The Renegade has standard amber (Fire orange) LEDs on the crossguards.  The main on that is an RGB LED with red and green together to blend a fire orange.  The crossguard blades are midgrade Ultrasabers blades that I trimmed to 4".  The main blade on the Renegade is a dual diffused blade.  I would have gone Pyrestone for the Renegade, but that requires an upgrade to the Diamond driver to get matching cross blades..  I am pretty happy with the premium Obsidian builds without the extra color changing.

The Reaper is an RGBW LED with red and green blended to an orange with more of the Blazing red hue to it.  The picture makes it look brighter instead of deeper than the Renegade.  In normal lighting, the Reaper with Pyrestone orange is more saturated than the fire orange is.  That one has a standard midgrade Ultrasabers blade too, but I sanded the outside of the blade, much like the dual diffused blades from some other saber makers.

No problem..  Keep in mind that flash on clash negates tri-cree LED choices.  A single color like Fire orange will have maximum brightness with tri cree.  For flash on clash, with orange, it will be a red-green blend to make pyrestone, fire orange, or sentinel yellow.

Pyrestone orange has the best saturation for my preference.  In the prior picture, the fire orange looks far more yellow in comparison.  In normal lighting, both look great.  Another thing to try is RGBA LEDs with Emerald or Diamond with amber added to the red-green combo.  I have tried with my Emerald saber, but always go back to purples with that one.

See, I have a Tri-Cree Fire orange because brightness is way more important to me then flash on clash. I simply cannot afford or justify the price of the Emerald or Diamond setups. They sound awesome but I've configured a few sabers on the site and at $100 more I just cant do it. And yeah I wish I had known my fire orange saber was going to look yellow. I'll get it right next time.

Doing a forum-only color like Pyrestone will have 2 LEDs glowing.  I do wonder if they can configure a custom with RGBA with red, amber, and a bit of green for maximum brightness.

There is info elsewhere in the forums too.  There is a $5 requisition charge and order comment notes that need to be made to request Pyrestone on a standard saber.  Overall, Pyrestone and Violet amethyst are my favorite color combos, both being RGB combinations.

Yeah, I don't even understand how I don't have a Violet Amethyst saber yet. It's an absolute necessity. Good call.

Yeah Pyrestone Orange does in fact look mean, might have to be my next blade color. I'm pure Sith though so :P Can always get another saber of some kind in Pyrestone Orange though. I like the hint of red the color gives off

I checked your post just to look at your saber again, Madness.  Lol.    Orange is definitely a color that shouldn't be underestimated.  In fact, since it's used by both sides of the force, the owner of the blade should be carefully monitors to ensure he/she isn't a mole.

The Aeon V2 was part of a Phantasm staff that I bought as part of my entry for the first summer raffle of 2016. No prize sabers in that one, but I love my twin Aeons, though I turned one of them orange. The other one is Sentinel Yellow, the color they came in. I got the orange LED out of a Dark Sentinel that I got in a grab bag. I loved the color so much that I had to give it another home when I upgraded the Dark Sentinel to sound and RGB. The Dominix LE V3 is from the recent flash sale on that hilt. I love it, it's actually in Tri Orange. You can really see that Tri towards the business end of the blade, where the single dims out more the Tri is still bright. Also, the bloom towards the emitter is brighter on the Tri. Both sabers are stunts, 'cause I love me a good stunt.  ;D

Fun fact: I also switched the Corvetec wheels on these hilts. I thought the silver would look good on the LE, and it does. The black also goes nicely with the black guarded switch on the V2.

Beautiful orange sabers you have there, SFD. The prize of your Phantasm was the staff itself but I'm sure you were still happy regardless.  Do you still mate the two together?  Would love to see a picture of them.  Great comparison between single LED and the Tri-CREE, I do notice the difference between the color, the Tri-CREE doesn't fade out like the single does and the bloom around the emitter does look much brighter as well.  I think the covertec swap was a good idea, really brings the silver one out more on the Dominix and the same with the black one on the Aeon, I can actually see it without having to look for it.

Indeed, that saber was a prize. I also got a grab bag in that order, and it wound up being one of my ultimate favorite sabers, my Aeon LE V4. I think I also got a free blade plug for ordering. It was a great raffle order, even without getting a bonus saber.  :)

I agree with you in regards to the ultimate favorite saber, I absolutely love the Aeon V4!  I'll also admit, I've seen V2 and V3 Phantasm and Phantom staffs and have to say that I want to one of them in the future.  They're so classic looking and I bet they spin and duel very well!

I didn't realize how much brighter the tri was until SFD made the comparison sitting them both side by side myself.  I am glad as well, Gumby.  You and SFD are two of the few that I chat with on a daily basis so it's refreshing to see you two up and about early in the AM.  We should make this a tradition.



I've never thought of the FO in the Guardian, Gumby.  It looks outstanding in FO and Darth Midnight appears to be comfortable around it.  Have a point for that, brother.

Hey, I’m here for y’all on the daily!! If I could have it my way I’d have every hilt in every color!! The combos you don’t expect are always the best. It’s also cool the think about a young Obi-wan being turned to the dark side and his kyber changing colors on its own.

Back at ya, Gumby!  Always happy to see you online as well!  You and I both, I would love to have every hilt in every color but my finances and the wife would murder me....  It's the collective number of memebers here that has pointed me in the direction of mixing colors together and I admit that the ones that you don't expect or are common, are the best ones. Obi Wan as a Dark Jedi would be interesting. 

This is my Crimson Scorpion with Tri-FIre Orange LED.  I paired it with the Heavy non-Ultraedge Blade at the recommendation of support and various people on the forum.  It really shines and looks great with this setup.

I like the Scorpion without the spike/claw better, for me anyhow.  I also don't mine that little indention that it has when you remove the claw either. 

I actually remove the spike when dueling.  I find that when I use the Scorpion for dueling, the spike becomes loose after several heavy strikes.  I don't want to chance hurting the spike or the bolts holding it in place, so I just remove the spike so that I don't have to worry. 

I keep the spike on for cosplay, spinning, and display.

Hey there, MNewell!  They're both 36" blades, I just took the picture from an angle to exaggerate and focus on the FO end so the other end looks smaller and shorter. 

A few shots of my Archon in Tri-FO.  It has QD's so I could put the orange LED in a few other hilts and it looks good with most IMO.

She's a beauty in FO, hazard!  I think the red led AV switch flows well with the FO color as well, made the iconic hero saber look really Sith-like and menacing.  Point

Thanks you, MNewell1!  I'm using an UE blade in these pics.  But what I will say is that an UE blade makes FO look a bit creamsicle, not my favourite.  A MG blade tones that down along with that core look they're known for, which is also my preferred blade type.

Yeah, have to agree with you.  I use a clear blade with my Scorpion, which as the Tri-Orange LED.  It glows with a life of its own and looks great IMO.  The clear blade is intense with warm colors and the Tri-LEDs take the color all the way to the end of the blade.

The Aeon is a UE blade in Artic Blue.  You can see that the brightness does not extend to the end of the blade, like on the clear blade.

I don't see orange as exclusively Sith either and feel it could go both ways.

Yeah, FO should never be used in a UE blade (IMO). I also don't care for UE that much in general though. Regular (MG style) looks better the majority of the time (IMO).

An orange blade on the Omen looks deadly.

I think a FO blade with a blue ill AV would make for a beautiful contrast.

They're beautiful sabers, DB.  The Reverse LE Sentinel is pretty sick with the FO and the Dark Omen with the Roscolux filter looks just like FO to me.  Have a point back

I agree Haz, I have an azure Omen with Tri-cree FO on my wishlist top 3.  I would be happy with just a stunt, especially since I haven't seen anyone do a Thundercats sound font.

The PO does look red in the pictures, probably the camera's inability to decipher the color

The PO has always been more of a deeper red, that is actually close to it's true color. My camera has never been great at picking up red.

BR definitely has a slight orange hue to it, most red LEDs do. It's a brightness thing, since red is on the low end of visibility.

I'm actually starting to prefer non canon colors on my sabers. Sure, I love me some blue and green, but I've been doing a lot of cyan (Sunrider's Destiny) and orange lately. There are just so many colors that were wiped out by George Lucas insisting that all of the Jedi except Mace Windu have blue or green in Attack of the Clones. This, unfortunately, cut out a lot of great blade colors, like orange. There are canon Jedi who were supposed to wield orange sabers, such as Yaddle.

Now, Yaddle wasn't included in AOTC, she was replaced by Shaak Ti, but she's one of the TPM Jedi Masters who (supposedly) wielded a saber that wasn't blue or green.

Another character that wielded Orange in the books was Adi Gallia. Siri Tachi wielded a pinkish-purple too. We do see silver, light-blue and lime-green in TCW and Rebels though. An argument could also be made for SRD in ANH when Luke is practicing aboard the Falcon.

Hers was red in the Episode 1 BTS stuff. Her Episode 1 action figure also wielded red, as did the character in the games Jedi Power Battles and Jedi Stafighter. But, you know, "bad guy color," so they changed it to blue in AOTC.  ::)

Nope, we're both right. It's been depicted as both red and orange. Just as Plo Koon had yellow, and in some cases orange. Of course, both got blue in the movies. ::)

It's really weird that they changed Plo's to blue, only to later make yellow a canon color.

I think I would've liked to see Plo with a yellow saber in the movies. That would have been interesting.

That would be George Lucas. He's the one who insisted all Jedi have blue and green. Samuel L. Jackson had to practically beg for a purple blade, and even he wasn't sure if it really happened until he watched the movie. The 2D animated Clone Wars series tried to justify the decision and show how rare the crystals were by having a cave with crystals growing destroyed. Though, that still doesn't explain AOTC, as that series takes place after that movie.

So true, I'm glad that Jedis don't have to decide between blue or green and have more colors to own.  I'm still not believing the whole new saber crystal cannon story that Disney is trying to tell though

As far as I'm concerned, Adegan crystals are used in lightsabers. They grow in caves and are of different color. Young Jedi enter these caves, often filled with peril, to retrieve a crystal to use in their saber. There's no meditating to make it a color, because they already have one. Oh, and synthetic crystals are totally a thing. Disney can try to say whatever bull they want about crystals, but their existence, name and characteristics are much better defined in the EU, in my opinion.

I can't agree with you more on this, SFD.  I prefer Adegan crystals over Kyber any day and the synthetic crystals for Sith are much better than the story that Disney's trying to push.  The EU has a better name and characteristics than Disney's lazy and boring story of the crystal. The thought of everything being colorless until being united with a Force-Sensitive then it changes colors isn't realistic to me.  There can't possibly be nothing but colorless crystals across the galaxy

Also, that story is full of plot holes. If the Kyber crystals powering the Death Star were just raw harvested crystals, how was the beam green?

Well, it annoys me even more. I designed a saber (which I can't go into details about here) way back in May 2016 and I posted it on another website and on my own. The saber was an update of Luke's ROTJ hilt. It was a silver hilt with both a crystal chamber and a "white" blade. Here is an excerpt from my article:

"This is the weapon I envisaged Luke may have, if and when balance in the Force is ever achieved. The saber has his famous Thin necked emitter with the now iconic black and silver bands. The switch section has been polished up and the copper accents give the switch a bit of interest as do the power indicator arrows on the side. Again the saber has the extended crystal chamber FTE pommel. By now you will have noticed that the blade and crystal chamber are glowing white, this I did to signify that the Force had been healed and was in “balance” hence the name for the saber. Now I created this design back in May but Disney/Lucasfilm have changed the Canon/story regarding these crystals. According to Disney, Kyber crystals are colourless to begin with and only take on a colour when the Jedi building the saber meditates on the crystal. The crystal then turns either blue or green dependant on the character of the Jedi. Red crystals used by the Sith turn red after they have been stolen and used for evil. This is now called “Bleeding”. Damaged crystals can be “healed” by a Jedi meditating on them for a second time but the crystal turns white, like Ahsoka Tano’s lightsaber crystals. It would seem Disney are borrowing my ideas  :o  !"

It transpires that around July of 2016 Disney announce their new rules on crystals and guess what?...they "introduce" healed crystals giving white blades, Bleeding and everything else!
Anyhoo, I can't sue them so life goes on.

Thanks Edon. I like dark but vibrant colors. I'm thinking of getting an RGBA led in my next saber. I have one in my Chosen One CE (whose scratched emitter I still have to fix). But I find I like warmer colors a lot more.

That's because they are FO! FO is one of the best colors US has to offer. Always looks good, no matter what hilt they are on. One of my all time favorite FO hilts is the Lord Bladewraith's Arbiter if Tri-FO. I'd look it up, it is absolutely beautiful. Too bad he hasn't been seen in close to a year (maybe more).

Been thinking of an orange blade for a long time. Didnt do it because some reviews said it wasn't good in a heavy blade. I wound up going with a tri cree green in an ultraedge heavy grade and man, that is a bright good looking blade. Makes me wonder what tri cree orange would look like in the heavy blade

Once again, I think someone was confusing a heavy grade with an Ultraedge. Ultraedge can be in either midgrade or heavy grade, just as clear blades. The blade in my Dominix LE V3 is a clear heavy grade, not an Ultraedge. It looks fantastic. The trans white of the Ultraedge is what alters the colors. In the clear blades, the colors look exactly the same in heavy grade as they do in midgrade.

Prefer oranges in a clear polycarb blade, shows off the hue a bit better I think.

I have a Tri-Cree FO saber in a UEMG and it looks like a glowing crayon. SFD's looks like a lightsaber. I gotta get some non UE blades!

FO looks just grand in a HG blade. In fact, I almost like it better in an HG than I do in a regular MG blade. UE blades just don't do it justice IMO (in fact, I don't like UE blades on any of my sabers).

Looks like the orange in heavy but skipping the UE is the way to go for my next one. I just ordered a guardian blue initiate LE v5, so I am excited about that.

Yeah, the warm colors don't do so well in Ultraedge, in my humble opinion. Red doesn't look good at all, orange is affected by it too. Yellow looks OK, but it's still better in clear. Green and blue look awesome in Ultraedge, and purple isn't bad. Naturally, white looks fantastic too. My current go-to is a clear 32-inch midgrade. But, I also don't duel.

Red looks better than I thought it would in Ultraedge, the free initiate came with a ultraedge mid blade, so I repeated the style for the Aeon LE v2 I coupled it with for my sister. Though Green looks the best in my opinion in UE.

I'm just glad Ultrasabers offers both clear and trans white blades, for people who like one or the other or who like to experiment. Most smiths sell sabers with one or the other.

It's just good business to offer lots of variety.

Yup. We can customize the sabers to our liking, which means a lot when you're talking about sabers. For example, you and I may differ on what is best for a certain feature, but we can each get what we want with Ultrasabers. :)

Good call on the greeblies.  It does bring it out quite and bit and keeps it from looking two dimensional so I think you did it right.
