Hi there...

I found this topic (http://www.saberforum.com/index.php?topic=7542.0) and thought of another, more general one.
Let's see your hairstyle(s) as a Jedi, Sith, Whatever, both male and female!

I'll just start with mine...
I love braided hairstyles and I often experiment with them. Sometimes I even try to copy hairstyles from movies or games, as you will see.


Padawan-hairstyle for Trisha:
A french braid starting above the right ear, braided to the bottom left and fixed as a circle. You can also see the Padawan-braid behind the right ear.

Knight-hairstyle for Trisha:
Dutch braid taking only strands from above, starting right above the ear, changing direction behind the left ear and ending beneath the right.

A small note: I have no one to do my hairstyles for me. It's all my work. I use two mirrors - one in front of me and one behind me - in the right angle, so I can see my head from behind.

 I dont have a set hairstyle, but usually ill have the top sections pulled back in some combination of plaits/ braids or twists, then leave the rest out. Its how I often have it when I wanna leave my hair down- pulls the front sections out of my face, but I can still show off my long hair :P

My sister did Taurel's hairdo in my hair (from the Hobbit desolation of Smaug), that looked pretty cool. I suck at trying to braid my own hair most the time, twists I can do, braids no. But my sister loves trying out different hairstyles on me when she can so I let her.

I suppose I'll be the first male to post here.

This thread reminds me, I need to get a trim soon....

If I know there's something coming up where I'll be costuming (RenFest, SciFi Convention, Anime Convention) I generally end up shaving my head.

Well that solves the problem of deciding how to wear your hair :P

To get the bun a little bigger I used a fake braid under my own hair... I think it works really good.

Take a special look at the braid down my neck (compared to the game version), especially the starting point. ;)

Cool. I usually don't have a set style either but I usually brush the front to the left for an Obi-wan look. :P

Looks like the braid extension works fairly well to me.

I used to style my hair up the way I wear it every day, when I'm just a normal human:

But now I style it down, I think it's more sinister:

It does look more sinister down.  But cute either way!  Also:  The eye makeup is hot, Yo.

I have my hair cut really low, but grow out a trimmed goatee.

And although I haven't finished it, I venture that my Desert planet stranded Jedi will probably have my hair grown out in dreads. More than likely it will have to be a wig (or extensions) since the military won't allow me to grow my hair out that long. :P

My wife surprised me today saying that we can go to Jedi-con in Düsseldorf this year I should have my costume by then so do you have any tips or pointers for a male Sith with long hair as you can gather it will be my first cos-play ever  :o

It really depends on the length of your hair.
But the first thing that came into my mind was to braid all of your hair into maaaaaany tiny braids, just like Tyr Anazasi from Andromeda (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2494405888/tt0213327?ref_=ttmi_mi_all_prd_144).
Or the easier way: Have them really straight back/down, resulting in a Loki (http://www.imdb.com/media/rm3989691136/tt1981115?ref_=ttmi_mi_nm_evt_47)-look.
Another idea would be a high braided ponytail, sadly I can't find a picture of a male 'model' to show you, but have a look at my sister's hairstyle she posted on page 1.



Really nice to hear that you'll be in Düsseldorf too. I guess it'll be easy to recognise a fellow "Ultra", a short look at the waist should be enough ;).

Sorry for the bad pictures and the grease hair I just got in from training. This should give you an idea of the length thanks for the ideas hope to see you there I'll post pics of my costume when it arrives

I would just dye my hair black or near black and put a half mask on or something... Go for a wild, vicious look !

The half face mask is on the way I'm going to prime it then paint it I will also have a cloak but just something for the hair would be nice but I do think it'll end up the wild look  ;D

the front sections plaited back, with the tail of that plaited to hang down with the rest of the length. Sweet and simple lol, I ran out of time to do anything more elaborate.
