Now that things have calmed down, we plan to attend quite a few conventions to give more fans an opportunity to come check out the operation in person. I can honestly say that the only reason I discovered DragonCon, three years ago, was due to Ultrasabers.  I bought my tickets and told the wife we had to go.  Now three years later we LOVE going to DragonCon and the Ultrasaber's table is always the FIRST place we stop :)  I am praying that the Mantis will be available to purchase....would love to see this one first hand......  Counting Down to DragonCon!

DragonCon?  That's only ... 3 hours away.

I'm not a big "con" fan, but this may turn the table...

I could be totally wrong.. but my understanding is that orders wont start shipping until they get back to the office.. somewhere after September 03..

And I am one of those who will be waiting.. every.. single.. day.. ;-)

Same here. I'm waiting for my first Lightsaber ever! I have like no money and a very generous, kind, Jedi, named Julmax, bought me a Raven a couple days ago. I couldn't believe it, you know? But she didn't want anything in return, just for me to pay it forward, in the future. But yeah, we're waiting for the 3rd. It's going to be a long wait.  :-\

I'll be at Dragon*Con this year, and I'm looking forward to swinging by your table!
I really want an entry level saber with Adegan Silver (with the color disc) and UltraEdge.
Will you guys have any form of specials going on, and will you be able to assemble orders there? I really wish I could buy the Dark Liberator V3 that is the current Deal of the Day (because I love that price, and it is a nice hilt) and pick it up at the con...

At least when US was at Phoenix Comic-Con this year their prices look like the deal of the day prices for what they had in stock. Plus you have the added benefit of not having to pay for shipping. I got my Crimson Scorpion at the Con and they had it ready for me in about an hour. (Boy, did that turnaround time ever spoil me.)  :P

If Ultra Sabers is ever at any Ohio Comic Cons you better believe I'll be there and going somewhat all out on a saber. :P Probably be in my Obi-wan style get up again so I'll be buying me a Guardian, Guardian Blue, in hilt re-charge, and silver FOC, sound of course. I'll probably basically blow my days money on them. Lol.

What's DragonCon about anyway? Can you be anything at that one? I know some conventions have specific requirements on costumes and such. Wouldn't mind going to next years Dragon and see what the Ultra Sabers booth has to offer then. Might do that instead of Comic Con. I'll have my own Jedi costume done by then for sure.

Dragon Con is an awesome convention...this was my third time going.  I discovered Dragon Con because of UltraSabers three years ago.  I found out, back when they were originally in California, that they were going to be in Atlanta...which was a four hour drive...so I told the wife we had to check them out.  The rest was history....There is alot that goes on at Dragon Con.....You have numerous vendors ..Sci Fi writers....Sci Fi Television/Movie Panels with the stars....Lots of people in Cosplay....Its one big ol party!  This year was the best because me and the wife got Tony Curran (Deifance) and Grant Bowler (Deifance) to actually DUEL with our new Ultrasabers during an autographing session...on the last day of the Con...We have a blast each and every year and planning on making this our annual vacation :)   You should check it out...but be warned there are LOTS and LOTS of people and it does get a bit crowded at times...but So Worth It!

I've never been to a con before.  Interested in going and would def love to meet the UltraSabers crew here in Austin.  I'm sure that I'd dig it and all, but I don't have any nerdy friends that would want to go with me bad enough to buy a ticket, haha.  Admission for the full weekend is $80.00, or 40-50 for a single day ticket.  Hhhmmm...

Seconded!

Alas, I suspect it won't happen, but there's conventions here in the UK almost every week. Granted, you have to fight for space with the guys who had guest spots on the old Doctor Who, but it's not so bad... :D

I want to thank you for the AWESOME customer service experience here in SA at Alamo City Comic Con. I picked up my first saber from you guys this weekend at the booth (Dark SI w/ Lines, Obsidian Sound, and Violet heavy grade blade) Took you less than an hour to install the sound AFTER I initially purchased the saber in the morning. The saber has been drawing ALL of my coworker's eyes to it on the shelf (in my booth until I went home) and just about every person on the way out asked my where I got it.... I cannot thank you guys and gals enough! AMAZING service and AMAZING quality all around!

I remember last year I asked Emory in an email if Ultrasabers could make it to WonderCon 2014.  The answer, unfortunately, was no at the time; but it made sense given that Ultrasabers just moved to Texas and due to distance and whatnot.
However, I. Am. So. Incredibly excited to know that they can make it to Wondercon 2015 this year.  I don't care if I live in Las Vegas now, I'm making the drive and attending even if it is just for one day.
 :o

I'm going to show up with my 4 Yari extension staff, as usual, and promote the heck out of them.
I just hope they have the Crossguard lightsaber there and available because I'm totally buying that first thing (and maybe one other) and I'm going to turn that Yari extension staff into a proper halberd or scythe or something superfluously insanely cool.  And if not?  Well, what better time to get my dream saber: 2/4 Channel Emerald Shock or Bellicose with Pyrestone Orange as the main color.
It's nice and convenient because buying from Ultrasabers will get me equipped for Celebration Anaheim in a week or so after.
 ;D

AAARRGGGGGH! Curses, blasted Comicons and Paloozas!  Starting the 22nd, the US team is travelling through the end of the month!! Back to back to back events.  Does that mean, we will have to WAIT for any saber deliveries until mid June??  I sense a disturbance in the force...no...Sorry! That's just me convulsing from pre-withdrawl symptoms of US dependence!

I would be shocked if Ultrasabers ever made an appearance at either the Edmonton or Calgary Entertainment Expos.    Not likely to happen, so I'll just have to try to get down to one of the big U.S. conventions again one of these days.  (Although they were notably abscent from SW Celebration back in April.   But I think I can guess why.).

Why not just go there and pick out your saber from the plethora of the ones that will be out to demo.  Find the Ultrasabers booth, find the one that speaks to you, and hit up the minions floating around that will take your info as to what you want on the saber on their little card.  Depending how busy they are and what features you want as to hold long it will take...no more than 2 hours MAX.   This is the best advise I can give you on this....this way you can get your hands on any sabers you have had reservations about and see how it actually feels in the hands and a very FAST and awesome customer service!

Just an FYI... After waiting in line for 2 and a 1/2 hours and again for another 1 1/2 hours, I'm just going to order my next one.

Maybe a good idea would be to get something like tablets, let everyone order, and then get a pick up number. Would make everyone much happier.

They were so busy all day from opening to close. I don't faulty them at all for being busy, just trying to help them be a bit more efficient. Unfortunately there were many people I saw leave line so they missed out on sales all day due to the craziness so I feel bad for them, not that they didn't make a bajillion dollars anyways hehe.

Wishing I had ordered before the "con" season started, no promotions and a month or so lead time on orders has me holding back.  Too bad they are so busy right during the costume rush too for Halloween with a new movie coming.

If you are in the market, order now. I ordered on the 25th, during SLC con, and it shipped last night. It'll be here on Friday, for an exactly one week turnaround. The 3-4 week timeframe on the store is a worst case scenario just to give some wiggle room if they get reallllly swamped.

All these cons have me bummed because we probably won't get a raffle for a while.  I'm really in the mood for a raffle.  Emory, you have a couple weeks before the next con, slide a raffle in there!:)

haha, agreed, we have been spoiled with all the promotions and raffles earlier this year, seemed there was always one on the go  :)

It'd be great to see the US display and setup at a con, I wonder if anyone would do some pics or video so us here in different countries can get an idea, lol . . . . . anyone want to be a Forum Reporter for the next con US are at? haha  ;)

I kinda figured, but without any kind of promotions I'm not horribly motivated, the one I am looking at comes in well north of $400 and even a 10% off is pretty significant at that price.  It seem that while they are busy they aren't encouraging any additional sales.

I can't make the cons this year (will be attending Emerald City ComiCon again next year, though). I have a Consular hilt as #1 on my wish list, but have been unable to order it all summer long, due to it being (seemingly) the only hilt that is out of stock. Has anyone heard if, or when, it will be back in stock? I'm almost to the point of ordering my #2 choice instead. Any help is appreciated.

I'm super sad I won't be in attendance at Phoenix ComiCon this year -- I go to perform there last year, and saw the vendor selling lightsabers (though I didn't know it was US at the time) but my husband kept very cleverly managed to keep me away from the booth every time we were in the vendor hall.  :D

Perhaps next year silly things like "responsibilities" and "adulting" will allow me to make the trek again!

Just got back from Dragon Con the other day and man was it insane...it was like go from day one..people, people, people....  I got a chance to pick up a few sabers this year from Ultrasabers booth.  I got a chance to see the *new* Mace Windu inspired Electrum saber.  It was pretty cool, just like Mace Windu's, but was just too bulk overall for me.  I finally bite the bullet and picked up an all black Renegade this time around.  What I really liked about this saber was the fact it was **Weathered** something totally new I have not seen Ultrasabers do before.  Got this bad boy in BR with V4 card inside and black non illuminated black switch.  This is now my sith Claymore!  Also picked up a Standard issue in GB for the wife and a Dark Standard Issue, with grooves, in BR stunts.  Ultrasabers had a good system running this year so purchasing was much quicker this year...will post pics when I can.  Oh and I totally didn't know that Ultrasabers had quick disconnect couplers there this year, but WOW!  A clear example why Ultrasabers is always ahead of the pack!

Congrats digitalsithlord, and I'd love to see some pics of all your new sabers in the Gallery sometime!  Just from some pictures the Electrum saber seems a little large but it'll be fun when US releases it.  A Claymore/hand and a half sword is the same reason I got my Flamberge too and with that theme in mind I just love it - and cool about the weathered finish.

so, word has come out outside of the forums the Phoenix con turned ugly. sorry Deep if this is quite touchy for you and the crew. but the promoter apparently didn't like how something was said to him and kicked US out of the con w/ no refund.

my personal view on this is: a large company that brings thousands of revenue in, brings in fans that would less than likely show up otherwise,
not to mention a professional side the smaller companies see stunts like this will less than likely show to this event knowing that they might get treated this way and loose out on important income for themselves.

does he realize how deep he cut his throat on that move?

My question on this subject is when the hell did a lightsaber prop become a weapon, I mean really.  Then your going to turn around a tell these guys, "Oh you can sell your sabers, but your gonna have to bundle them in a trash bag."  Wow is all I can say.  The man behind is this disaster really screwed the pooch to do this to a large company like US.  You have all been to their booths at the various cons and seen the crowd they bring in.  Hell they were the reason I started going to DragonCon seven years ago, true story!  After reading the post on FB I was in shock.  Hopefully this will not happen at DragonCon.

Yeah I hope US's can still hit DragonCon and others in the future. Only takes one person to ruin something good. They should've known not to bring real weapons to a convention. I feel bad now for the troopers and stuff too that people look forward to having their pictures taken with. At Phoenix anyway. Hope this doesn't affect everyone even the smaller conventions x.x

Okay, blame for what happened at Phoenix lies SQUARELY on the people running Phoenix.
THEIR screeners let this guy in. THEIR people didn't stop a guy carrying REAL weapons from hitting the convention floor.
I hope US and other dealer will STRONGLY encourage BETTER entry screening at events like this.
Phoenix took a bad situation and made it worse by over-reacting

I'm hoping Salt Lake doesn't do anything this STUPID come September. Phoenix basically punished their core audience for the mistakes THEIR people made

the blame actually lies Squarely on the the perpetrator. But security is a balance between protection and customer service. It is a concern that if there are metal detectors, armed guards and police at every entrance, people will shy away from the event/location because they will think "bad things must always happen there" .  If nothing happens people complain that it is a police state and there is too much for this event/location"nothing would ever happen here". If something does happens people complain that there wasn't enough. There is also the added cost for all the extra security. The conventions are a business after all and if they have run the same style of security procedure for years without anything serious happening, the powers that pay for everything tend to think it is not needed.(the security heads always say different)  Unfortunately most security at events like this is Reactive instead of Proactive unless there is cause (threat made) prior to the event.

It doesn't require a police state to tell a prop weapon from the real thing. My  point was, and still is, that this whole thing could have been prevented if those doing the prop/weapons check had done their jobs.
Instead, the organizers wind up punishing those who choose to be in costumes that use weapons.
I'm a realist. I know that things like metal detectors would be pointless at a con like this. You'd still have to do inspections of many cosplayers.

Yes, the actual problem was the wacko. I'm just saying that a decent check could have prevented said wacko from entering the con with loaded, real, guns

IT does take some training to spot the difference and a lot of low paid  security guards don't have it or aren't provided it, then if they are it is reeeeeeaaaly quick. You have to be experience with the real thing to know what you're looking at/for . Plus people try to make their props look and feel as real as possible(weight, function/action).  And criminals go to get lengths to make real weapons look as fake as possible(paint and plastic over metal, foam padding over live blades).   I wasn't there But all the pics I have seen look like there was just a check table at each door (off to the side and not bottle necking the crowed into the check point) almost as it was voluntary thing?  They just looked at them then tag them with a zip tie(easily removed) . But also I haven't see what weapons the guy had. They said knives, pistols and a shot gun, But they can all be easily concealed (depending on the shotgun style) and he could have just walked right past the table without any of them seeing anything to him for. Or He could have been check and he removed the tags, then loaded them while he was in?  This is all just speculative until the PD post what he was caring and how exactly he got in.  Only way to Truly prevent anything is detectors/x-ray then fully body searches/frisk(3d scan)of everyone!  There also it take Training plus most people are severely against the frisk idea just to go into a con. But yes it could also have been just one checker to let them through? With that size of a crowed slip ups do happen and things get in. It happens with Real police too. Criminals tend to be smart, they stake out targets and security procedures to find the best way to get past them. I am sure there will be a scapegoat. But the good new is No one got hurt.  This whole thing sucks but unfortunately with the scare of these kind of people it has become more common just to do a zero tolerance(which also never works) and ruining it for those of use who just want to go in with our props and have fun.

So im finally home from my friends, who I was staying at during the Con when this whole mess happened. To any MOD reading this, I'm just saying what I've heard from other vendors I'm friends with, and the situation as a whole. I love Ultrasabers, Heck I convinced my friends to buy some finally this year. Anyway, Yes phoenix comicon went overboard with how the situation was handled by the low grade security and volunteer staff failing at their job.  Also they completely ignored the fact its bloody impossible to have boxes for every possible version of a Saber a customer can order. Now from what PHXCC said, They had a "Mandatory" meeting about the new requirements to sell weapons and US never showed. Given that PHXCC also randomly decided to extend the exhibitor hall by 90 minutes on Friday without telling ANY of the vendors..I"m willing to bet no one told US about the meeting. So US did the most logical thing they could and used trash bags to try and adhere to the situation.  Now from what US said to everyone who ordered a saber, they did not like using a trashbag, which I can understand, but you do what you have too sometimes. According to PHXCC though US wasn't even trying to do that and became hostile when confronted with it. US also says they were offered no Refund for the situation and PHXCC claims they offered a refund and  written check at the time US was removed.  The kicker here is I also have heard that the person who owns PHXCC/heads it has a very short temper and demands things be run the way he wants without question, so There is probably some truth in US becoming hostile if that situation is true, because who would become hostile when trying to sell a very nice product to customers who are loyal to both the convention and US? At the end of the day I choose to believe there were issues on both sides. Did I miss seeing that amazing booth near the center of the floor? Of freaking course!  Do I hope that US isnt banned from returning and also wants to come back another year? Yes! Do I believe it will happen?... sadly no, This situation was abysmal and does show that loyalty has no value if the head of the convention demands total obedience.

Im just sad because I buy lightsabers from ultra sabers every year; and this year I finally convinced my friends to go to comicon with me. They were really excited to see the lightsabers for sale.....but sadly it was Sunday and we got to the empty square where the ultra saber tent use to be and it was heartbreaking :(

Yes! Do I believe it will happen?... sadly no, This situation was abysmal and does show that loyalty has no value if the head of the convention demands total obedience.
it good to know the story. hope the other cons don't have the Large Ego running the show. Thanks point.

Turns out  the Blanket Ban was ordered by the Phoenix PD. The event heads Had to enforce them by law, Which most likely included the trash bag idea for outgoing props from vendors.
Non enforcement=fine .

Now that we are located in the middle of the country we plan to attend quite a few more conventions to give more fans an opportunity to come check out the operation in person.  The next ones this year will be Salt Lake City Comic Con, Dallas Fan Days, and Oklahoma City Comic Con.  Keep an eye out for any announcements of us attending a convention near you.

Ultrasabers will be attending this years Salt Lake City Comic Con: http://saltlakecomiccon.com/

Ultrasabers will be attending this years Dallas Fan Days: http://dallasfandays.com/

Ultrasabers will be attending this years Oklahoma City Comic Con: http://wizardworld.com/comiccon/oklahoma-city

We will be there displaying, demo'ing, and selling Ultrasabers for the entire convention.  Should be a blast.  Hope to see you there!

You need to check out each Con's own website to see ticket prices. Each Con is different and even the same Con can have different prices from day to day.

They sell too.  They have techs working on customer orders behind the booths.  You fill out the sheet with what you want and pay for it, then in a few hours you come back to the booth to pick it up.  But recently the big seller appears to be the mystery boxes which are ready to go.

I didn't see anything new. I did see the con exclusive Curved Reaper. I didn't care much for it. Funny thing was I did kind of run the front for a couple of minutes. I don't know where/what their reps were doing but I heard a bunch of people talking and trying to figure things out so my "forumness" jumped in and answered a bunch of questions. I think I made a sale too, not quite sure either but it was fun walking around the booth talking to people.

Yeah. It was very cool. The US booth was very populated with people but I am not sure how well they did. I did hear a couple of people comment on how expensive the prebuilt demos were and I did get a lot of snarky comments from others around the convention.

Haters. Cons are pretty expensive just to go to and spend a day at. So if your not going with a budget to buy something like a US the price can seem over barring.

I can honestly say most people went to Wizard World Cleveland, for the celebrities. The two biggest were Ray Fisher and Erza Miller from Justice League and then there were a couple of people from Doctor Who, which I personally don't follow, and all the mention guests were pretty expensive. So I guess their budgets went to them. Oh well.

yes, bigger cons like that people are going for celebs. I saw that at Grand Rapids, and you do get higher priced items there as well. but, to be fair, the local comic shop can't afford tables at events like this. so, you get big names and companies.

Yeah the Con here is like that. And I think Dr. Who gets the biggest crowds. I told my kids this year (all teenagers) that I was buying the tickets to get in, will pay for food and drinks if course. But if they wanted pictures with celebrities or autographs they have to save and spend their own money for it.

They don't know if but I will probably help a little LOL.

Looking forward to seeing you all at Megacon! Was wondering if there would be any sales, besides retail prices at the con? I see there is a pretty good deal on the archon V3 right now and I'm wondering if I should use this deal currently or if there will be a better deal at Megacon in late May?

I was very happy to have met some of the US crew at Mega Con Orlando ! I had an awesome time looking at all the cool sabers with my kids ( I have a shopping list now ). We went on Sunday and I literally walked up to the counter, picked out the Saber I wanted while the friendly staff wrote up the order, an in less than an hour I was walking around with my beautiful Dark Initiate  V2 with Fire Orange blade ! The moment they handed it to me, and I turned it on,I felt like the coolest guy in the place !(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180613/339571c4f69782572502bfac249c8fae.jpg)

So True! I got to my local Comic-Con this year and was able to take my saber in. I had my photo taken with a Wampa, a few droids, Princess Leia and Darth Maul.
The only problem...the guy running the photo stall had three sabers - one red, one blue and one that resembled Lukes ROTJ thin neck. The Luke one didn't work however and after I had my photo taken with my saber, a family of three walked up and obviously one of them would have to pose without a saber so being a nice Jedi I offered mine for the picture.

I didn't see my saber for around thirty minutes afterwards as everyone wanted to borrow mine!
Thankfully I am strong with the Force and was able to pull it back to my grasp...eventually. So maybe in my case the folks digged the saber not the wielder?

To my knowledge, they don't.
That is, however, where the whole 'mystery box' thing got its start

They also have the ability to make 'minor' mods to the sabers on hand. Nothing that needs a drill press, but sound and LED swaps can be done

The only con special saber I've seen is the Curved Reaper.  bB has a Crimson one, and there was an Azure one floating around too, Tx sent me a picture.  They usually only have one for sale and you can't get it on the website as far as I know it is a con exclusive.

I held the Curved Reaper at Wizard World last year, I didn't care for it. It felt longer than the standard Reaper.

The other thing that sucks is they don't bring their drill press, so if you want a saber with a recharge port, you won't be walking out of the con with it.  :-\

They put one on my wife's Dorian at last year's DragonCon.  The only **Con Exclusives** I have seen lately were, as stated earlier, were a few curved Reapers (and I mean FEW) and they did have some weathered Renegades.  Year before last I got one of the all black Renegades that had some pretty good weathering done to it and last year I got a black curved Reaper, which I absolutely love.  Everything else is pretty much on the website except these two items.

Dragoncon is a bigger con than Wizard World Cleveland, it would make sense for them to bring the drill press or they had a predrilled body ready to go.

Beautiful, love the Crimson Curved Reaper!  Last year at Dragon Con I swore to myself I would get one of these and I did, but they didn't have Crimson only black so I had to settle for the Black Curved Reaper instead.  Still, I absolutely LOVE this design and I believe, in my opinion, that this is even better than the Mantis.  I have the Mantis CE and just feel that it is just a tad bit bulky.  Great choice on the saber my friend, truly a beautiful hilt!

I just wanted to drop a note about how lovely the staff of the Ultrasabers booth were during Florida Super Con! They fixed my sabers multiple times while there after I managed to crack a board connection, knock loose an LED mid-performance, and strip a retention screw. Thank you so much for putting up with my needy repairs throughout the con! <3

"Not I," said the duck.  And I said the same thing as the duck, sadly.  For me, that one-way drive of over 350 miles makes it a non-starter, when I have the Phoenix Fan Fusion just a few miles down the road.

I know it looks funny, but that original post gets updated with the next few Cons on the schedule every so often.  A few months ago, the cons listed in that first post included Phoenix Fan Fusion, and made no mention of the LA Comic Con, so it's all good for you; US will be there this year, because that first post in this thread currently lists that.

Jillian, I have them ( Fulcrum and Lost Grey) . They are cool,  but they are fairly large. Well, the Fulcrum is. My wife is 4ft 9in and says the Fulcrum is way to big. She has claimed the Lost Grey for herself however.  Just fyi.

Got to see y'all today at Wizard World Austin.  Your booth, as always, looked great, the staff was super professional (also, as always), and I saw a lot of folks carrying Ultrasabers as the day went on, so I hope it was a good day for you.  I was in my Star Trek garb today, so didn't bring my sabers with me.

I would love to see UltraSabers at a con here in the DFW area but I don't mind driving down to Houston to where they go to just to say hello to Emory, Marlena, Ana, and the rest of their incredible staff. It'll also give me an "excuse" to buy a saber or two... or three...

Comic-Con is usually held here in Rhode Island every October or November, but they've already canceled for this year.  However, they do have two different events planned for 2021 to make up for it.  So maybe we'll be able to go the full dress-up route with our own sabers.  Something to look forward to.
