Ok, I'm gonna give this 'creating-a-forum-game-thing' a shot. (Please don't hate me)

So the premise of this game should be fairly straight forward and simple. It kinda moves along the same lines as "5 Letters". You simply quote a line from a movie (any movie). The next person then has to say what movie it's from, and then they quote a different movie. Standard forum rules apply. Omission of explitives will be appreciated. Have fun, but try not to be obscure.

Example:
Quote: "I'll be back."

Answer: Terminator (although, Last Action Hero could count as well)

Simple right. It also doesn't necessarily have to be a spoken line. Memorable texts may also be used. I'll get us all started with one everybody here better know...

It's not a matter of new or old movies. It's whatever you can think to quote. We have done knew movies, old movies, and really old movies. The issue with very recent movies is many people haven't viewed them enough to cement favorite lines in their memory. This is a relatively new game, so give it a few pages to liven up and get some fresh meat in here.

Just to repeat the last unsolved quote which should not be that difficult.  This is not an easy game by the way for some of us. :)

I never intended this game to be a gimme. But I've seen too many game threads stagnate because the last post was not enough for interested participants to work with. So I announce PASSED if it has not had a reply in 2 days. I looked up the last quote and found that I never saw that movie. I'm not opposed to people expanding their personal quote repitoir, but it would be an entire waste of time if all you had to do was look up the answer. Now if you happen to come across it through other means, you can still answer. Even I restrict myself to the rule that "if you look it up, you disqualify yourself from answering for that quote." I probably should have taken a little longer to explain how I intended this game to progress. I hoped to eliminate obscurity, but I wanted it open for people to quote their favorites regardless of how widely known the line may or may not be. For instance "I love you" would be the absolute worst quote for this game. It's only been used about a billion times in countless movies.

I don't want to make anyone feel bad here. This is just some feel good nonsense. I apologized to the first person that had their quote PASSED. I'm also not opposed to someone retro-actively answering previously PASSED quotes.

From here on out, please PM me with questions, comments or suggestions so we can keep this thread as close to on topic as my ADHD mind can muster. ;D Happy quoting.

Don't think that anyone is feeling bad but thanks for the extra info.  Unfortunately my memory is like a sieve and my favorite few movie quotes are even said incorrectly.  Perhaps if no one gets it in a day, a hint can be given such as the actor or if the movie was a comedy, etc.

Watched that movie a few times over the years... one of them that you almost need to read the books to really get what's going on properly, but its one of my favorites.

So I've got a question about the rules in a situation like that. If a quote is given from one movie that also happens to be in another movie and the person who guesses the quote correctly guesses the line, but not from the originally intended movie, does it still count?

It's never come up. But that's the biggest reason that I wanted obscurity avoided. So that the quotes would be almost impossible to have multiple references. Now if you preempt the quote to better establish what movie it's from then go ahead.

Ok, I'll elaborate again on this thread.  The "intent" was to post a quote that is not so obscure or limited in view so that the participants have a chance at "guessing"  NOT, searching for the quote to answer.  Personally, if I don't know it, I don't know it and that's as far as I go.  The quotes should not be so obscure, i.e "Hey!  How are you?"  So, now that we're "realigned" on the purpose, let's try and engage more intently, rather than vaguely.  :)
