Title: Scroll Work Post by: tuckerfilms on January 12, 2011, 05:02:51 PM My first saber, an Aeon, is on its way as I write this. I’m very excited.
To make it more my own and give it a unique look, I was planning on doing some scroll work on the hilt. I was thinking maybe some Celtic designs or the like. I haven’t thought it out completely yet. Has anyone else ever done this or this kind of work? I have never really done any metal work, scrolling or engraving. I have a Dremel tool but don’t know if this would be a good tool to use or not. What are the best tools to use for a good clean look? And where on the hilt would be the best locations for this (obviously not the grip or I may tear up my hands.) Any help would be great. Thanks! I do not mean this in a patronizing way at all, I just want to suggest that if/when you use your Dremel to engrave that you make sure that it's strapped down or secured (like in a vice) when you work on it.
