Title: Power on/swing sound
Post by: ZenVII on April 01, 2016, 11:01:39 PM
So I just got my first saber with sound and I haven't delved much into the obsidian launcher....

I really enjoy the look and feel of doing a spin or something fancy when powering on my saber. Is there a way to adjust the sound fonts so that the power on sound persists through the first swing? I always just cuts to the swing or clash sound when powering on.

Only way I can think would be to decrease the sensitivity, but then it won't pick up any swing. I'm betting the swing trumps other sounds. When the motion sensor engages, the sound plays no matter what.

Well, I guess you could also try making your lock up sound the power on sound. If you time your button push right, the lock up trumps the motion sensor. Set your power on to silence(empty), your lock up to powering on, but you'd be timing your button press for on, then immediately lock up, all while doing your spin, then you turn the lock up back off so the idle sound can run with normal motion function.

Did you find any magic for this?

If you use the sounds wizard in the launcher you could create a font in which the power on sound could be loaded as one of your motion fonts. Then it would periodically give you the power on sound among your other motion sounds.

The down side is that the sound would be random along with the other motion sounds you choose.

I advise you to make the font first, then save it to your hard drive. In case you make it too big for your bank on the saber.
