Title: Form of the WIND - (DEK) Forms of the Elements-series
Post by: Master Medwyn on June 22, 2016, 10:03:26 AM
Finally the Wind has blown too :)

Philosophy:
- another mainly attacking form using the advantages of two sabers in hand
- it creates a wide space with freedom of movement
- with changes in the flow of coordination the Wind can press the opponent on multiple points at the same time
- there's a flexible balace between the hands dedicated to defence and attack - every move can be reconfigured according to the actual situation

Hope you'll enjoy this one, feedbacks are welcome! :)

Again, an awesome form.  Medwyn, are you ambidextrous or something?  Whenever I try to dual wield with my (battered) Force FX's or sometimes a pair of dowel rods, I always do almost everything with my dominant left hand and only a few swings with the right, never spins.  And if you're not, you dual wield so naturally, it seems that you are.

Thank you, glad you liked it! :)

I'm not by any means ambidextrous, sometimes I'm as clumsy as I had no hands at all under any control :)
What helps a lot in coordination is that the main hand "draws" the offhand moves as well when using two sabers so on areas where the offhand lacks can be compensated a bit more. You can actually feel the blood flowing into some parts of your brain where it never has been before. :)
But it may look more comfortable on the video than it really is. Surely a few bruises are there to heal on my fingers :o)

Awesome. When I first saw it I thought that you had defied the laws of physics by floating in midair. ;D And, good news my computer updated and I can stream youtube video's now. YAY!

Excellent, sir! The Aang fan in me expected all evasion techniques, but great fit with two sabers in motion able to shift as needed. I'll study this to help me as I attempt two saber moves. So, it's not only inspired, but helpful too. Thank you!

Great video, it looks so graceful and fluid (wrong element, I know!), and you do make it look so easy!
Looking at getting 2 Prophecy's (when they're back in stock!), as I'd love to learn to dual wield as well, and if I ever look half as natural as you, I'll be stoked! +1 LS point!

Thank you, I'm glad you find this form inspirational of some sort!
Seano, the Prophecy is just a perfect saber for all kind of styles, it has the best balace of all my sabers with a 36" or 32" mid-grade blade so you can rest assured that with a pair of them you'll be well off for any adventures you take! :)

Awesome. I could totally incorporate some of the WIND form's elements into my Jar' Kai.

Very nice. I really like the flow of this. Do you have a youtube channel with all of the forms on it? I'd love to compare and watch each one.

Meanwhile I ran into another blast on FB where master Enso Marr has just posted his video in which he does the first (and the most difficult) part of the Wind form.
Unfortunately I can't link the video but maybe he'll pop in and do that sometimes :)
Again, I'm really honoured to see these forms coming alive in great quality on someone else's saber.

Ah I am not sure how to post from Instagram either.

Here's a link though:

Took a friend and I half an hour or so just to decipher this first section. Since then I have discovered the slow motion setting for YouTube though, so at some point we will sit down and work through the full thing. I'll get a video of that up when it happens.

Looking forward to seeing the whole!

Huhh, my trip to the Outer Rim took very long, hopefully the hyperspace lanes are clear on the way back :)
Thank you, here's the channel in case you haven't found it already:

Trying to figure out Wind with YouTube's 25% speed replay and it's still kicking my ass.

Since you've already been through the first section with great success - anything else will be a blue milk run! ;)
(It'd be nice if we managed to have a proper way of comm between us other than writing, I'd be more than happy to help you out or just to discuss some details. I may find you on FB about this, video chat should not be an issue nowadays...)
