Title: Unable to change sounds, but colors change fine
Post by: Hadan Fure on October 10, 2016, 10:11:15 PM
Hey there guys, I need some help.

So, my Scorpion Saber arrived today, and I was extremely pleased. I immediately started to mess with the color options, and everything went fine. However, when I try to change the soundfont, nothing happens; it doesn't detect the device when plugged into the obsidian board, but works fine with the Emerald board.

What am I doing wrong?

The saber is detected when plugged into the Emerald board, but is not detected when plugged into the Obsidian.

For information:
- I am running the newest version (1.04) of the V4 launcher
- The saber IS equipped with the V4 Obsidian soundboard
- Launcher was installed according to US instruction, run as administrator, etc.
- I am running Windows 8.1

Thanks in advance!

Well, let's try to narrow this down a bit.

Are you plugging into the Obsidian board? Your saber should have two boards. A green one and a black one. Make sure you're plugged into the black one.

Is the saber on when you plug it in?

Are your batteries fully charged?

Are you clicking the connect button? Sometimes the auto connect doesn't work.

Yeah, plugged in to the obsidian board, works fine when plugged into the emerald. Tried auto connect, still nothing, and the batteries had just finished charging when I tried.

Ok.

Are you plugging it in all the way? I have to sometimes push pretty hard.

Do you know if you have a USB 2.0 or 3.0? The obsidian board doesn't like one of them, and I think it's the 3.0 it doesn't like. Some people say they have to plug and unplug over and over to get it to work on a 3.0. Try that.

If all else fails, try emailing US at info@ultrasabers.com to see what they say.

Thanks for the advice.

It seems to work about 1/3 of the time, just takes some fidgeting.

You're welcome. I'm glad you could get it working, even if it's intermittently.

If you have any other questikns, feel free to ask.

Had this problem a while back. I went to my device manager on my computer. USB controllers. Scan for hardware changes. That fixed it. Sometimes the computer 'forgets' what to look for.

I have the same problem. I've tried all the solutions above but nothing worked. Scorpion with emerald and OBV3. Emerald works like a charm, OBV3 isn't recognized, and the button only says "Connect (auto)" so I can't even detect manually. Windows dings when it plugs in but the launcher doesn't recognize.
